  1. I find "Sad Girl" to be one of Lana's masterpiece, tbh. "He's got the fire and he walks with fame He's got the fire and he talks with fame His Bonnie on the side, Bonnie on the side Makes me so sad, girl His money on the side, money on the side Makes me so sad, girl" I know the girl likes some Lynch ("Blue Velvet" and such) -- and I can't help but think "fire and he walks" is a reference to Twin Peaks, and the trumpets at the end of the second verse are the same ones that are used in Lynch's Mulholland Drive from 2001. Laura Palmer is a total Lana character, that's for sure. But the reason this song is fantastic is because it sounds like a lounge song straight from hell - and the euphoria of these words over the mandarins and all the reverb for the bridge is GOAT level shit. I love the self-awareness to her being a "sad girl", but the way she's pushing the narrative that it's all sincere. The entire album seems to be about her transition into fame - that bridge from New York to California (Mulholland Drive is about going to California for fame, after all) - and it works so well, especially as the centerpiece of Ultraviolence. I'd argue the album is very much a horror one, and I may be the only who thinks it, but I think the Jim Jones/Manson cult aesthetic she was going for with the "Ultraviolence" (but it's "Freak"now) makes this song stand out even more. It's like she connecting the fame to actually becoming a cult leader. But here, it's her basking away in what fame entails for her, and whether she's going to find happiness in it finally. And then Lust for Life showed us she might not have found "happiness", but she's definitely figured life out, in some capacity - to some extent - for herself. By being a cult leader, but also still being that cult follower ("Coachella"/Father John Misty, as an example, with the "Freak" video). Also gotta love the Bonnie and Clyde/bonnie flower interchanging there. Whichever she meant, works. I think she was aware of the double (she does it often), as "on the side" rhymes with and helps us recall the movie's title.
  2. Would it be weird to ask folks on which track they'd love to see a music video for? <3
  3. Thank you so much! (Still working on my vocals, though - but in most of my music, I'm okay with serving them as glitch sound effects, too. lol And I like "Ra", too, so I'm happy so many others do, too.
  4. Gonna hit this up before I get some sleep. Thanks to everybody who has already jammed, or tried to. <3
  5. This is what I was influenced by. Mainly because it was the first pop record I ever owned, when I was 8.
  6. ABERCROMBIE DREAMS Scraping bark from an elm tree Videotapes of an icy creek And in the dark of trailer parks Shining with bonfires made of stars Is there anything left to be? Will we let the atoms breathe? Is it coming for you and me? We can dream all we want But in the end, it’s an empty song Streaming on a creek That has no shores for landing We can be what we want to be We were told that it’s worth it, in the end But we’re floating onward To a point where no return exists (Don’t look back) Writing numbers under rural bridges Little trolls in their Abercrombie tees Not just a memory. 7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6tZeW-MOEE Youtube version, so you can hear the album flow together. (It may take a few before it hits 1080p.) <3
  8. Currently, only "Abercrombie Dreams" has the lyrics, which are under the Soundcloud stream. However, just because you asked, I'll be posting them here soon.
  9. Oh my. lol Thank you so much for listening to it! Glad you liked it. <3
  10. This is the Soundcloud link. I'll do a Youtube video later, for those who don't bother with the site (plus, it doesn't embed here. ) https://soundcloud.com/littleboyvelvet/sets/abercombie-dreams
  11. Yeah, I pretty much do everything. Haha. On a side note to others, I'm thinking I'm going to go ahead and release the album today for LB. Just because you guys have been so warming of "Ra". How would you guys prefer the album? Soundcloud playlist, or a Youtube video with them together?
  12. Thank you so much! Can't wait to share the others.
  13. Check back in this thread in two days. Getting high is the only acceptable way of listening to my stuff anyway.

  15. First "official" ( ) single will be posted in about 15 minutes.
  16. My album is almost finished. In the final check-ups and everything. Also debating on an additional track to add (it's up in the air, at the moment, but when you feel the itch to write and produce something, you just got to.) This was a very personal album, and the first one I spent months on, rather than solely a few weeks. I was influenced by the political climate of post-Trump America, but also about my memories growing up (in the closet) in rural midwest America. This time period was between 2006-2008, so Abercrombie, itself, is a nostalgic pull - and I understand the title can at first seem silly, but I hope it makes better sense in context. Here's the cover! Brownie points to whoever guesses the album's cover my little gay heart was nostalgically inspired by. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6tZeW-MOEE UPDATED (FINAL) TRACKLIST: 01. 18. She wasn't as public about Freak's vide reusing footage, but it seems a bit to convenient that she's sharing these videos on her Instagram story with obvious intent on keeping BAR's lines in there. I wouldn't be surprised, at all, if the music video is gonna transition from WM into BAR. She said somewhere she'd like to drop BAR as a separate song, didn't she? I honestly just can't think she'd do these Instagram posts without hinting at something.

  20. So I looked more into what I really, really do or don't like - and "Lolita" still remains the only song she's done that I outright hate. Don't get me wrong, a total Lana song, but I think it's ruined by its production. Also not a fan of "Raise Me Up" from AKA, and I find "Swan Song" to be important contextually to Honeymoon as an album, but on its own, is incredibly bland. The song "I Can Fly" she did for Big Eyes was a big, over-produced bore. The titular track was much, much, much better. "Guns and Roses" isn't bad, but I always skip it.
  21. Could you guys give 4 minutes to my latest song and tell me your honest thoughts? Honesty means everything to me. This was from a dark place, though - but that seems to be how this EP is going anyway. https://soundcloud.com/paul-reese-30998502/neon-eden
  22. I appreciate some of these, especially in context to their albums. But I barely listen to them (skip them often), or actually dislike them. Lolita Guns and Roses Dark Paradise 24 That's it. Haha.
  23. I'm going to cry if this doesn't happen. I would love to shell out cash toward Lana based on all the stuff we've had in the past. They're all over Youtube and other streaming platforms, but please, girl, take my money and keep working hard.
