I've never seen this before, is it real?? I didn't have the patience to watch it all but it's just a bunch of girls/women shooting people?

I’m honestly surprised, both that Lana was actually asked to make a song for the film and that she didn’t write something for it after being asked to. I get that she might’ve been too busy with an album release (not that she really did any promotion before or after though) and touring for months but… Lana loves Elvis. I don’t think she’s over his music, or his image, I think he influenced her a lot. I think Priscilla has been an inspiration too, at least her looks. This would’ve been a perfect opportunity to do something for people who (have) mean(t) a lot to her, I’m really surprised she said no.

I feel like he’s been everywhere in the US for this tour so I don’t think he’d go back for next year, but maybe some additional European dates? I’m not sure though, I think his last tour ended in December too, in Ireland.

… Why do celebrities sign these things, like, as if the president cares about it? I doubt he does.

I don’t know Nikki’s music at all, but they seem to be such good friends, I want to believe that friendship will bring some really good songs. I’m not a fan of country music but I doubt this will be a yeehaw project so I do think it’ll be something I can listen to from start to end.

I’m sad I didn’t find her earlier though, her EU/UK tour is completely sold out and from the comments I’ve read online, they seem to have been sold out within minutes because the venues are so small.

I think it has to grow on me but I don’t feel too interested to listen to it again anytime soon.

I think she wants to tell this because she’s tired of people taking the narrative from her. Just listen to Grandfather… “it took somebody else to make me beautiful, as they intended me to be”… It gets tiring and this is her try to be heard.

Do you really think you would though? I had classmates with a freaking indoor swimming pool living in a three-story house and taking vacation trips to Mauritius almost yearly and I naturally noticed they were living differently than my own family and had more money, but I never considered myself to be poor. We did okay, I’m middle class. I don’t think I’d ever start thinking or remembering my childhood to be anything else than what it was. :0

What’s wrong with being middle class? I don’t really like that she’s trying to convince people her family was poor… I don’t think they struggled with rent or having enough food for everyone, or missing presents for Christmas etc? You can be hardworking and middle class, that’s fine. You can choose to be independent and live with little money in a trailer park and experience what that is like, that’s okay. But I never got the impression that she grew up poor? It’s not like being poor or middle class is better or worse than the other?

I’ve seen him ask people in the comment sections on Insta to stop badmouthing him so I think some might have taken it too far to be honest. I remember people writing absolute shit comments online about Win Edwards, even here. Some of the comments were disgusting. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ricardo has received similar comments, and if he has, it’s kinda understandable why he’d react like this. (It might be empty threats to make people stop though.) I hope he hasn’t received death threats, no one deserves those from immature fans. I know there are fans in every music fandom who goes to several shows, but there are very few that go to all shows… and even fewer that make sure they get barricade for every show. And goes to events just because Lana will be there? I don’t know, something about that does make me uncomfortable. I can’t imagine dropping everything or reschedule plans just to see my favorite artist. And like Rorman mentioned in another thread, I’d just feel weird and worry Lana would think I’m weird too. It just… doesn’t seem like a normal thing to do. Is it harmless? For now, it seems. Might not have to develop into something bad but… yeah.

Not that it matters, but Variety thinks Lana has a chance to be nominated to album of the year (Did you know… Blvd) and record of the year (A&W).
