  1. I love how literally everything YourGirl666 says is instantly iconic
  2. I haven’t seen anyone mention Barbie Ferreira’s look! Totally reminded me of the Chemtrails video!
  3. I love Lana Del Rey and will make it my life’s mission to support and defend her to the very end.
  4. Definitely all the released tracks from Blue Banisters — and lately I’ve been playing Nectar of the Gods, Living Legend, and Cherry Blossom (for obvious reasons). I’m glad she put those on the record because they really are part of the same caliber as her released discography
  5. Man...I’m really going to miss her. I think everyone feels a bit emotional about it because she prefaced it with that video message, which I think she very strategically put out to get some closure on her level of visibility and to communicate that this decision means something more for her. I wish her nothing but the best! We love you, Lana!
  6. This is exactly it — just being an audience to her personal posts was a very small way of feeling connected to her as a person. We don’t know her of course, but this felt like her wanting us to know her beyond just the music. It was something we probably never actively thought about, Lana’s online presence was just there and she became a part of our lives in a more accessible, cellular way. It’s a very bittersweet feeling.
  7. I agree — there’s such a lack of nuance and empathy all around the Internet, I’m actually appalled at how many people lack basic etiquette and politeness. And I really dislike the rhetoric of fans online, it’s quite embarrassing to witness and makes me feel very disconnected from the larger fanbase and culture. I can’t imagine how Lana feels. She’s quite patient and kind despite how terribly her own “supporters” have treated her — and for what, clout online? People need to get a grip and realize that they are being so rude.
  8. I don’t love how her comments are filled with these “stans” that write such backhanded things like “what is this bestie” or “I thought you were deactivating” - stuff like they know her personally and they have the authority to talk down to her or make light of some of her more personal posts - I would want to deactivate all my accounts too
  9. I hate how some of her own fans suggest that she needs to be censored and that Twitter or Instagram “need to be taken away from her” what disgusting handling and coddling of an intelligent, grown woman.
  10. Her Twitter had such a great reign, so many iconic and powerful tweets that came from there over the last 12 years. I’ll never forget her first tweet being a simple “Love you” in June 2009. ❤️
  11. A screenshot of the last few moments before she blows up the paparazzi...what a way to end your public relations
  12. I haven’t really stopped thinking about her deactivating, and I’m sure that will actually positively affect my listening of the new songs in a contextual way because it almost enhances their true meaning. Her social media withdrawal is the most visible outcome of the events she discusses in the songs that we, as fans, are privy to. I sound like a broken record, but I really feel for her and understand where she’s coming from — and I hope this decision brings her some peace and the personal accountability that she described in the video. This is bittersweet for fans, undoubtedly, but I think this also marks the beginning of Lana going even deeper in the music and poetry. Because there’s no other way to be personable with her audience (as she was through IG), the music and poetry will now become that outlet and allow for some rawer, more authentic writing than ever before. and that’s okay - boundaries are a beautiful thing and I’m sure it’s great for her that she can take back control over her place as a famous person through only being accessible through the actual art she puts out (and nothing more).
  13. “Now English speakers often use Arcadia to designate a place of rustic innocence and simple, quiet pleasure. Arcadian can mean idyllically pastoral or idyllically innocent, simple, or untroubled." I think Arcadia and its recent release signify something very significant for Lana as she enters this stage of her life — this cultivation of an Arcadia within herself due to a number of things that we can gather from the lyrics in the song. The choice to step away from social media seems to magnify that.
  14. I think it’s interesting to note how she made a point to say that Blue Banisters is a “compilation of older songs and a few newer songs” - while that is true, as we know, the fact that she framed it like that within the context of the video seems important. I guess we’ll see why soon.
  15. I think this video message speaks to her wish to live a simple life — I wonder if having a very public, large following on social media that anyone can access at any time creates this feeling of no boundaries (even if we can control what we post, there is still some psychological element to lack of privacy). I think this action could be a way of asserting control over how accessible you are, and of course, for someone with a legacy as grand and profound as Lana, that’s bound to create some internal conflict when this is your life’s work and passion. I’m sending her nothing but love and I wish her peace.
  16. Aw. I hope she’s doing good and that this next chapter brings so many amazing things for her - social media can be a bit of a storm cloud so I hope her decision to step away from it brings her nothing but goodness <3
  17. I’ve been totally thrown off by this snap election and the debates were interesting to watch earlier this week — that’s all I can really say.
  18. I would LOVE to see covers of the following: 1. King Crimson - I Talk to the Wind 2. Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused 3. Led Zeppelin - Babe I’m Gonna Leave You 4. Bob Dylan - Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right 5. Bruce Springsteen - I’m on Fire 6. Chris Isaak - Wicked Game 7. Nina Simone/Jeff Buckley - Lilac Wine 8. Eagles - Hotel California 9. Eagles - Witchy Woman 10. Eagles - One of These Nights 11. Joan Baez - Diamonds and Rust 12. Carole King - So Far Away 13. The Zombies - Time of the Season 14. Janis Joplin - Piece of My Heart 15. Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower 16. The Doors - Love Street 17. The Doors - Summer’s Almost Gone 18. Mazzy Star - Fade Into You 19. The Police - Roxanne 20. America & George Martin - Ventura Highway 21. Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon 22. Amy Winehouse - Wake Up Alone 23. Amy Winehouse - Some Unholy War
  19. If this drops this year with multiple vinyl variants, I swear — a third of my 2021 expenses probably would have gone to Lana Del Rey....and I’m not one bit mad about it‼️
  20. The covers album is coming!!! I bet that’s album #2 that Ben hinted at
  21. I think my favourite part of the pre-release is always the day the pre-order goes live and all the physicals are unveiled. It’s so exciting to see how she manifests the actual songs and their narratives into physical albums. This set of physicals for Blue Banisters is probably my favourite she’s ever done <3
  22. UO’s description of Blue Banisters refers to the album as “An intimate observation of the singer-songwriter’s personal history” —— the fact that this is included in the copywriting for retailers makes me all the more excited.
  23. I think it’s quite beautiful and poignant how Lana starts the album off “looking for the father [she] wanted back” and at the end of the album, seems to have found him (and written a song with him!)
