So if it’s going to be surprise-released, then I think the source code saying we can pre-order COTCC might mean this:
 
The album will be surprise dropped digitally and then once it’s available on streaming services/iTunes etc., physicals will be available for pre-order that will be shipped later. 
 
With the Violet vinyls right now, it says “pre-order” for a release of October 2nd, so I think that will be the case! 

There’s too much mystery surrounding this album at this point in the release cycle for it to not be a surprise. Whether that means she wants to drop it out of the blue or have all the announcements, promo, and actual releases lined up closely together, there seems to be a very secret plan at the moment. 
 
Things usually (unfortunately) leak when it comes to an LDR album on the way, historically at least 2 weeks before the release date if not earlier, so I’m betting on things being kept under wraps for the sake of a surprise!

I think there are 3 possibilities:
 
a) The album is indeed being surprised dropped on the 28th and she gave us the September 5th date to make it more of a surprise  (but maybe forgot there were 31 days in August and that’s why the 5th was not a Friday date, and she meant the 4th). This seems most likely because Friday is the standard release day. 
 
b) The album is still coming on September 4/5 and they’re just dropping a single with a music video on the 28th - which is a week before. 
 
c) She will reveal the album cover and tracklist on the 28th - a week before the September 4/5th date. 

I think he only tagged the agency and the photographers of that Grazia 2017 shoot because that’s general protocol in the editorial world when you’re posting projects you’re involved with - to tag all involved parties. Even Pamela does that when she’s posting looks she did with Lana, so I wouldn’t take it to mean anything in particular!  

I think the fact that he mentioned midnight like @takeitdoen said,  implies that it’s music-related - because midnight EST is when things are released music-wise

I bet this is what she meant when she said surprise release last year...give us a date but then release it a week early - and that’s why there’s been no news and why Ed couldn’t answer @RormanNockwell when they asked about the album coming in September. And that’s why she’s doing all this frequent posting now...code cracked? 

I feel like I’ve never seen anyone of her team tease a video or single this much, and the rabbit and hat emoji, which means a “surprise trick” of some sorts, I wonder if the album really will be surprise released on the 28th, like some people have already said before!

He teased that they were shooting something in the first place, which ended up being at the Eric Lloyd Wright House,  so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s excited to potentially reveal in 3 days what that was for. If it weren’t for him posting, we wouldn’t even know!

I’m thinking she’s dropping a single with its music video on Friday, because that’s what Sheridan is likely involved in, I can’t imagine what else he would be this involved in! Maybe for TJF and we’ll see what that shoot at the Eric Lloyd Wright house was for?

The way Lana casually mentioned the album title and release date in her question for the culture saga after mentioning she wanted to just surprise drop her next album n then hasnt mentioned it at all which lead to people believing it’s not coming september 5th and then she let nicole nodland and her makeup artist and hair stylist post about the shoot so it’ll build up hype but would still not give enough confirmation that the album’s coming september 5th so it’ll still come as a surprise n now she has her hair stylist cryptically saying something’s coming on friday.. and on top of that she had Ed lie to the people saying the album’s not finished yet whew she knows EXACTLY what she is doing with this rollout

Her hair stylist also added a top hat and bunny emoji. Pulling a bunny out of a hat. Pulling an album out of anywhere. I see what they did there. ^^
