Since we are on page 6000 I felt like taking this historic occasion to promote something that is largely ignored in the XCX canon which is that girls and girls and boys and the Southern Comfort from your comforter got destroyed... Perhaps it was shady eyes with the violent noise, in the graveyard digging where the love is void... But who am I to speak on such a cause.

maybe she'll milk this a little more too and re-release Bitch again feat. her dog or something

I don't care if this is true or not – so messy, it made great memes, kept me entertained. Won't affect how I regard Madame X's music, so I am honestly living for the drama

I'm so curious on this too, considering this song was removed from streaming platforms a few years back.

Uncanny how this thread wavers between social/political debate and album rankings when Charli's not actively promoting or being hacked. Anyways, can we get Super Ultra on streaming?
-
At this point I don't think she's a musician anymore but instead a performance artist whose concept is the bad girl/sad girl rockstar unreliable and unstable as hell. I for one am living!!
-
So random but I would love it if Charli did a covers album

I feel like the Crash era is the perfect time for Charli to do a re-release/second deluxe edition
-
COCC the song has aged pretty well, though it's been less than two full years. This album has aged much better than some of their more recent stuff and particularly sounds good with the trend of retro/throwback twinged production.

Imagine Crash remix album with Every Rule (feat. Sky Ferreira) [Ariel Rechtshaid Remix]

no matter what she does next, i know that another artist will debut and release a few good albums before that. but i will always love her, she has a special place in my heart. i'm sure the next time she teases i will eat it up just as much as always! <3

oh i was just saying shit god knows that NTMT was her last album
-
she should work with jack antonoff

Charli with big hair really gives off this Fran Fine energy. I swear to god I love her, she is every popstar, she is every gay icon, she is every f*ghag combined into one beautiful electropop box

Yes, though I guess it is maybe the simplest one so easiest to shoot/edit/etc. Might as well use the most of the song too if they rented out a bus to shoot it!

Album finally coming omgggggg It looks like the single is up for preorder: https://shygirl.lnk.to/Firefly

So far this remains my favorite release of 2022.

Sweat is so good actually. It's like XCX World with no PC Music

The title track is so interesting to me. It almost feels more like an intro than a fully fleshed song. Love the talk-sing thing she does for the verses too.

Lightning really does have that True Romance blueprint, but I think the reason why I'm not enjoying it so much is because of the vocal production. I don't know really how to describe it, but on TR her vocals always felt like they were being drowned out by the instrumental, whereas Lightning's vocals take more of a center stage over the instrumental. I'm sure it will hit hard live.

I love how this album is so pointedly the opposite of her creative process during how i'm feeling now but also the complete opposite of her creative process after becoming associated with AG et al. Esp. Used To Know Me...a brilliant track, generic as hell but also extremely fun, and the lyrics hit so hard thinking of them as a double entendre for her relationship with Atlantic. She's brilliant. I'm so excited to see what she'll do next. This album feels like a major turning point in her career in a similar way that VROOM VROOM was.

These three tracks are such a step in the right direction for her. Happy Loner is maybe one of her best songs!

I wonder when we will find out the openers. I'm excited.

i never go to shows, but i impulse bought a ticket to her show in boston b/c it is on 4/20 and that just sounds like an amazing serendipity. i last saw charli back in 2013 in dc after she first released true romance, so it's going to feel very full circle to see her after crash comes out. i was a shy lil teenager when i saw her last, and now i'm realizing myself, so seeing her on a special day in the city i've transplanted myself to is gonna be magical :`) <3
