  1. I actually think the opposite... Some of the things she's written, a handful of lines, I actually liked. But overall I think her poetry is a whole new level of cringe. It's shockingly, unreasonably bad. I would have never expected this embarrassment from such an amazing lyricist. I already considered her a poet, her lyrics are poetry to me. And great poetry at that. She could have published Hope as a poem, How To Disappear, even MAC... I don't get it. It's like her lyrics & poems are written by two completely different people.
  2. ‘The Land of 1000 fires’ (Spelling mistakes and all) My photos for The Land of 1000 Fires
  3. My photos for ‘The Land of 1000 fires’ ~ ‘There are seven worlds in my eyes I’m accessing all of them at once one to draw my words from and my muses another one I try and harness late at night that lies somewhere off of the right of Jupiter And then of course there’s this one I live in- the land of 1000 fires that’s where you come in
  4. Another thing she could do is play different versions of the songs she seems to be obsessed with. I'd love a slower, sadder version of Summertime Sadness, a heavier, more hard rock version of OTTR, and I mean I'm in love with the orchestral version of Born To Die. She could change up the lyrics a little bit, consciously this time... It would be cool imo.
  5. I completely agree with what you said here, I think she's lost her spark and it shows. You could tell at first she was so shocked & grateful to be performing for all these people, to have so many adoring fans screaming her name, shouting how much they love her -and I bet she was also worried she'd lose it all if she didn't keep fighting for it. But the very thing she spent years chasing, fame, ended up making her miserable instead of happy. Negative and often spiteful criticism, the typical invasion of privacy from paps all celebs have to deal with, stalkers, creeps, backstabbing hoes and clout chasers.... I think they ruined it for her. And I'm sure a lot has happened that we don't even know about, both in her personal and professional life. She spent years fucking with mostly younger, less successful men, who treated her quite badly. She hasn't had a baby yet, which is something she has wanted for years. Several projects of hers have fallen through, and she hasn't achieved half of what she should. We can only speculate as to why that is. It could be laziness/flakiness, it could be anxiety, or there could even be people in the industry causing her problems and actively sabotaging her. A lot could be going on behind the scenes that could have her feeling frustrated, tired, and doubting herself. I hope it's just a phase she will eventually get over <3
  6. ^this right here is what I think about when I see fans gush about "new, confident lana" vs "old, nervous mess lana" like did y'all completely miss 2013-2015 and actually most of 2012 too? she did seem quite shy and anxious on stage during the first few months of the BTD tour but i honestly can't think of more than a handful of instances where she messed up. and 2013-2015 lana was fucking KILLING IT i think some people are confusing boredom & aloofness with confidence, bc the last thing she seems to me is confident these days
  7. this was the OG take it doen lmao
  8. (copy/pasting something i posted on a different thread, but i mean i stand by this): i wish she'd go back to singing in smaller venues, it feels more intimate and she seems far more comfortable performing like that. all the fans defending her dancers say she's more at ease & confident with them on stage with her, but she's never looked more awkward or out of place imo... there's just something incredibly awkward, disorganized and often robotic about the way they all...move. because you can't really call it dancing lmao. and she moves like a puppet on a string i know this is going to sound mean but i can't help but cringe now every time i hear her call herself "dance queen" in some of her older songs
  9. I...don't really think this analogy will make sense to people who don't think cultural appropriation is a thing :/ When you use that logic, it sounds like a valid argument.
  10. Well we've had 3 songs with shitty, sloppy, embarrassing visuals. Or should I say 4 songs? Since it's the HIAB video she used for MAC & VB I'm not even going to say I hope you're right. It will be great if you're right, but I'm not about to stop lowering my expectations. Hope ain't getting us nowhere in this mess of an era.
  11. And I used to share that opinion. I understand what it's like to not understand what it's all about. I understand why it may not make sense at first. But I truly believe that if you really think about it, you'll change your mind. Maybe not now, maybe in months or even years. But I know -or at least hope- you will. Do read what @@Noel has to say. I wish I could try to explain my view further myself but I honestly can't organize my thoughts well enough right now.
  12. @ please just don't. It's not the same. This isn't about using math, or eating sushi, or learning foreign languages or whatever. I wish I was able to explain it myself, but I'm too tired right now. So when you can, please do some research on the subject. You're a smart person and I know you'll get it.
  13. please don't cultural appropriation is a very real issue. head over to the Random Conversation Thread, @@Noel made a post about it
  14. low budget is no excuse for bad visuals. even no budget is no excuse. she just doesn't care about visuals anymore, or her taste has changed and genuinely doesn't want good visuals anymore. not all artists do and i respect that, but it would be nice if she made a point to talk about it in an interview or something so that we wouldn't keep waiting for the gorgeous visuals she used to be known for. to me it's a matter of knowing where we stand. she's allowed to change as a person, even do a complete 180, it's her life & her art. i just wish she'd let us know what's going on so that we know what to expect.
  15. first of all I MISSED THOSE LEGS her thighs give me LIFE seriously she looked beautiful, slutty lana is legendary loved the hair, the makeup, the DRESS , the boots , I didn't even mind the jacket idk if i genuinely liked it or i'm just turned on but either way it was the best i've seen her look in ages the vocals were sadly trash, very few parts were good, but i mean she barely sang some songs... super disappointing she also looked high as fuck, which makes me sad, but on the bright side this time she didn't look like she'd rather be anywhere else but there. i hope she had fun! now regarding the dancers...what the fuck even was that like others on this thread said, i wish she'd go back to singing in smaller venues, it feels more intimate and she seems far more comfortable performing like that. all the fans defending her dancers say she's more at ease & confident with them on stage with her, but she's never looked more awkward or out of place imo... there's just something incredibly awkward, disorganized and often robotic about the way they all...move. because you can't really call it dancing lmao. and she moves like a puppet on a string i know this is going to sound mean but i can't help but cringe now every time i hear her call herself "dance queen" in some of her older songs
  16. ...most of these are pushing it but i don't think anything could top the adidas skirt and corset monstrosity
  17. like y'all don't know she's cringy
  18. I can't believe she put on makeup
  19. she was phenomenal at the ally coalition show so i think her lazy vocals are due to her trying to dance (lol) and not wanting to be there
