  1. Hmm. I'd worry that she'd be just as nervous, if not more than before her first appearance after all the backlash...it'd be hard going back to that and knowing everyone is waiting for you to fail.
  2. Of course she could do with more promo but how will that improve her vocal abilities or performances?
  3. It's certainly not emotionless but the vocal style on the album is a lot more subdued than her live performances (best example being Million Dollar Man). I wonder if part of that is the studio setting, for someone who is very shy (like myself and she definitely seems it and has said she is) it could be quite confronting having to belt out high and loud notes with no backing and engineer(s) watching and listening. You're in the spotlight with no distractions from other musicians.
  4. Depends whether she's any good at it really... I mean doesn't she usually just put together melodies, lyrics, vocal lines etc and then leave detailed instrumentation to her producers? Other than her old acoustic tracks, are there any that she's completely performed and produced herself? (Perhaps noir yes)
  5. I would never want to see Delicious released on an album, but I can't believe all the hate it gets. What's not to love about Lana getting sassy and being that bitch that you can't fuck with... Also Big Bad Wolf is fun and catchy as hell. Why all the hating on her less serious songs?
  6. I remember reading the first 3 books after seeing a few eps of the TV series and really loved them outside of the TV series on their own merits. Started watching the show again recently and it's great, but I'd def recommend the books themselves as well

    Song vs. Song

Diet Mountain Dew (Demo) Diet Mountain Dew (Demo) vs. You & Me
  8. Yeah was thinking that myself. I guess the title suggests it's supposed to give that kind of impression without her actually having been high at the time...
  9. What about Methamphetamines? I guess it's at least a little intentional, but she seems pretty strung out in the video... ...but I guess it was edited later on so she mustn't have minded haha
  10. I was a huge fan of Emilie around when Opheliac was released and I'm still in love with that entire album but the new one is a real disappointment, especially as it's been so long in the making. Not even sure what happened, there's just something missing in most of the songs Enchant is also a lovely listen, some of the synth effects in Across The Sky remind me so much of the end of the AKA version of Yayo...

Love this album so much! I was a little disappointed at first that not every song was as catchy and upbeat as Ungirthed but the whole thing is just amazing
  12. Body Electric. The live version is absolutely beautiful in it's dark sound and haunting strings and such emotional vocals and that was just ruined in the studio version. Makes me wonder if I'd like the BTD version of DMD half as much if I'd heard it after falling in love with the video/demo versions...
  13. I voted Ride. I love the way I can relate to the lyrics, the subdued backing track during the verses, Lana's vocals on the pre-chorus, and the chorus, and the verses, and the bridge. Oh dear god it's heaven. And the video!!! Wish I could have voted for Burning Desire as well though why so few votes for it?!
