Well I'm going to be laid off from April 2nd because of movie theaters being closed at least until the 13th... I knew this would happen so I'm not surprised but am I frustrated? Hell fucking yes.
-
Well it's cancelled. For some reason I don't even give a damn
-
Well, gatherings of over 10 people are forbidden and... https://www.foreigner.fi/articulo/news/schools-universities-museums-libraries-closed/20200316173813004827.html

Well the number of infected is still relatively small here compared to some other countries (200-250) and so far only one has been reported to require intensive care. Some primary schools are closed but they're mostly in small towns, whereas most students of high schools and vocational schools are now staying home with online studies. The movie theater I work at is closed at least for this week, I was supposed to have four shifts with 34 hours total and double pay on Sunday. Apparently our boss is still trying to figure out the money issue as cancelling shifts without paying what we were supposed to get is illegal or something. From what I've heard he's trying to make some arrangements that we could come to work (even though we're closed from clients) so that we could have IT training or something like that. Obviously I wouldn't mind staying home as long as I still get paid but I also don't really mind going to work, as we can basically do whatever we want with no customers around or movies screening. At least our warehouse is a mess even though I've been arranging it. I don't know, I'm waiting for more information later today. Most people want the rest of the schools etc. to be closed and for example my parents let my 12-year-old sister stay home at least today since people seem to be quite confident that schools definitely will be closed. According to the news, half of the students in their region didn't show up at their schools today and even some employees decided to stay home, resulting in some schools being in trouble with very little staff. The government will have another press conference in 30 minutes about what actions will be taken next, I'm currently on a bus on my way home. Edit: Alright the conference has been postponed with two hours...

The stream is gone at least for now Only the barely visible text is still there... what is going on I'm too stressed. Official release around midnight? Oh and I've listened the full thing a couple of times now, I'm really digging it and I can't wait to get it in HQ (with confirmed album and track titles... the anxiety of being a Last.fm user).

THE FUCK. I just nearly had a stroke and shit my pants because I gave up on this album ages ago because it was better to forget about it than wait for it anxiously and now I accidentally bumped into an article AND HE JUST DROPPED NEW MUSIC WHAT THE FUCK. It's playing on loop at https://donaldgloverpresents.com/ and there's four sketches for a cover... I hope we're getting it soon properly bc all we have now is people's rips. I haven't listened to it yet but I listened to a part of Algorythm and wth did he do to the vocals and why...

Oh well our cinema is closed at least next week and apparently our boss is trying to get us some "maintenance shifts" or something so us employees won't go broke but if I don't get any of those shifts at all I'm gonna lose like 360€ which is a lot so
-
I listened to XS like last week but I wasn't really feeling it, however I bumped into Comme des Garçons this morning and it's been on repeat since... a bop and I love the cover art

It's the same thing here rn... I told my bf to go buy some stuff for stock (for example we only have 2 rolls of toilet paper at home) but for some reason he didn't and now that the news are full of empty supermarkets he's like "oh shit" which is pissing me off because I told you so.

Our government is currently holding a press conference and events with more than 500 attendees will be cancelled until the end of May (that also affects me bc we had concert tickets for next month). Like I mentioned before, last evening 69 people were reported to be infected but the number has gone up to 109. Personally I'm thinking about how this will affect my job as I'm a movie theater employee and my incomes are already low. Apparently The Social Insurance Institution is prepared to compensate salaries to those set in quarantines. Obviously we'll most likely lose a lot of customers because of this so we'll probably do something but I'll just have to wait and see. I heard that someone working in the same shopping center has the virus so it's getting closer. My sister works in a nursing home and they've been instructed to measure their temperature when coming to work and to stay home if they have any kind of signs of flu. She's pregnant with her second child so obviously she's quite worried how the virus can affect those who are pregnant and so am I...

I live just 30km from the capital and most of the people reported to be infected are in the capital area (32 at the moment so not much but still, 25 new cases in Finland were reported today). If I didn't work in Helsinki I wouldn't be worried because back when I was unemployed I only left the house to go to the grocery store which is literally next to our building. I just had shifts for 6 days in a row so I've been going back and forth and using public transport is making me somewhat paranoid, with the media saying the situation is most likely going to explode in the next couple of weeks. I'm going to my parents for the rest of the week so I'll have to take a 4 hour bus in the morning and I'm slightly nervous but I haven't seen my family after the New Year and this is my only chance in a while, also bc I'm supposed to record material for a pre-assignment for a school I'm trying to get in. First two infections in their town were reported this evening.

https://twitter.com/Madonna/status/1237100832203649031?s=19 Lmaooo so after her mess of a tour she's actually milking it even more with a god damn $225 book "to thank you all for your incredible support throughout her tour, even if your show was cancelled or rescheduled". Madonna and her team should be ashamed of themselves.

She got the most televotes but because of the international jury she was ROBBED and this is the song and performance that will represent our country this year, literally the song during which you go grab something to eat from the fridge. The two were against each other in the end and the live audience literally kept shouting Erika's name only

This is kinda funny https://twitter.com/laracroftonline/status/1234938806123536384

So have you heard what Jayden did the other day... I'm not surprised he's throwing "gay" as a slur like that bc he probably got it from his dad, calling Jamie a dick was a move I approve though.

We're choosing our representative this Saturday and here's my favorite... The other candidates are just boring ass ballads and then there's an uninspired, beyond generic party song that deserves zero listens and attention. I knew Erika before because she's pretty much the only candidate that's been around, not really because of her music but because of her relationship with a male artist who used to be big like 50 years ago so yeah she's in a relationship with a 77-year-old and she's 27 herself so obviously the tabloids have been feasting for years. She seems very down to earth though so I like her as a person but I've never been into her music - when I first heard this I thought it was corny and very, very bad but then it turned out to be a total earworm and an actual kind-of-a-bop even though some of the lyrics are still quite cringeworthy. ESC fans apparently love the song and it has over a million views which is a lot more than the other candidates so this bitch better win, I don't want Finland to participate with yet another ballad no one's going to remember after the performance or that stupid ass party song that I won't even link here.

I remember seeing Björk on Stardoll (when it was still called My Paperdoll Heaven or something like that) as a kid and I honestly thought she was a Japanese singer or a model or something and had just picked a weird Scandinavian name to stand out She did The Comet Song for Moomins and the Comet Chase back in 2010 so I remember seeing articles about it and my friend who is a journalism student actually attended the press event. I don't recall hearing any of her music until Army of Me in Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch in 2011 - I liked the movie and the soundtrack enough to buy the soundtrack as well and that's when I started listening to the song; I didn't even try anything else from her catalogue for years so she was just "the artist that sings Army of Me that played during Babydoll's samurai fight scene in Sucker Punch". But then Vulnicura came out, people talked about it on Twitter and I was fascinated by the album cover. So I downloaded it from Pirate Bay or something like that and the first time I actually listened to it was one sunny morning when I went to school by bike (I had just turned 19 at the time). Not really realizing it was all about strings, I barely heard any of it because of the traffic noise so the whole first listen was a huge flop lol. I hadn't listened to anything with such a big emphasis on strings and I honestly struggled with the track lengths. I really wanted to like her but it wasn't easy at first because of her being so avantgarde - I remember someone on my IG feed posting a pic of his Vulnicura, Homogenic and Post CDs and thinking "oh I really want to like her because of her unique aesthetic" so I downloaded a bunch of stuff but kinda forgot about it. Early 2016 my boyfriend wanted to get into her music as well so we both started listening to her albums and around March 2016 Vulnicura finally hit me - hard. We both got obsessed with her and started ordering her older albums from Amazon for cheap and going around flea markets, looking for her CDs and we were surprised to actually find some - the copy I have of Medúlla is a bit damaged, the cover is scratched and sticky so I've left in my shelf and I never look at it. I got my copy of Homogenic used on Amazon, it's the digipack release and the covers are somewhat damaged so I've been thinking of buying the jewel case as well but I still haven't. I think the only brand new CDs I bought back then were Vulnicura, Volta, Vespertine and Biophilia. I got one of the Army of Me singles on Amazon as well and it was sold as used but I was surprised to find out that it was still wrapped in plastic. I still lived with my parents at the time and boy did they get absolutely sick of me listening to Vulnicura all the time - even my boyfriend got tired of it. Homogenic also got a lot of plays. Fast forward to August 2017, thinking of what I thought about her in 2015 felt like a distant dream. By this point she felt like a deity to me and I held her in high regard. I pre-ordered Utopia immediately as they announced a new album coming out by the end of the year, tried to find the Dazed issue from every store I went to and eventually called my parents to look around as well since they live on the other side of the country and they did. I was obsessed with The Gate and especially the album itself when it came out. I remember her going on tour and just dreaming of her coming to Finland (her previous concert had been on Biophilia tour) so when I got the news in the middle of the day from my friend like 4th of June in 2018, I literally started shaking - she was coming to Helsinki in about a month. Putin and Trump decided to meet in Helsinki the day before her concert in July and the venue she was supposed to perform at was used as the official base for media all over the world so I was worried she would have to cancel or postpone the concert but she didn't have to and she performed at the venue as planned. I've previously posted about the concert and being in the first row so I won't get into all that again. Nothing's really changed since then, I still hold her in very high regard, no one compares to her and what she does - and how she does it. I haven't listened to her music as much since seeing her for the first time but never in a million years would I have thought she'd return to Finland again after only two years. Shit still feels weird and I'm so excited, especially because the orchestral tour has such a few dates and it's going to be a lot different from the Utopia concert I experienced. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us this time, not to sound like a basic bitch but I'm really hoping for orchestral versions of Pagan Poetry and Army of Me just because I haven't heard the songs live yet and the first one especially would be quite something

Ugh I want the signed box set but it doesn't have the CD and I'm not paying £63.99 for the ultimate bundle... especially when I literally don't know where to put the whole thing. So I guess I'll just have to settle for the standard CD, at least it's a digipack and not a jewel case
-
Yup the video isn't it. Her makeup is good but the only look I like is the visor one...
-
Thank you! Two hours to go Edit: I got us good seats omg I can't believe this is happening for the second time
-
Picture disc, cassette and CD available here. I'm thinking of getting the CD because I really do like the cover
-
Yes and also her new album ain't it so just listen to Time is Up
-
So I got an email from OLI with a presale code but their link just takes you to the site that's available for the general public lol. Would've been nice to select our seats in peace but I guess I'll just have to deal with the hunger games tomorrow

Well yesterday it was announced there's someone infected in my region of the country, message my family to play Björk at my funeral

I dig the art but the song leaked like a month ago so I don't really care too much at this point
