I went to see The Meg on saturday and to my surprise it was actually pretty good! I love watching Jason Statham (he's charismatic eye candy ) but it was also entertaining and even thrilling at times. Some obvious jump scares, some less predictable. Apparently they shot some gory scenes but as you probably know it's like PG13 so they left those out and Jason himself has said he didn't like that decision. It didn't really bother me though, I enjoyed it anyways. The Shallows is my favorite shark film, it's good even though the CGI is very messy in the end.

That was pretty much my problem with the film. The surreal moments were creepy but quite bland and the scene I previously described as the most intense for me basically had nothing to do with the occult stuff lurking around. When I saw it I had only seen the trailer like once and I hadn't even read anything except for the premise but it was so hyped. I went to see it with my bf and also my sister and her fiance, they watch a lot of horror and basically they just laughed in the end lol As for Conjuring, they're some of the most boring movies I've ever seen and I couldn't care less for The Nun, especially because of Taissa Farmiga...

Hereditary was okay, And lmaooo why didn't I just write my thoughts about Suspiria in this thread, well here's a copy paste from the random convo one.
-
The more I read about the new Suspiria the more interested I am. But the thing is, there's no way I can handle extreme body horror and gore - like jfc I don't have enough courage to watch Hostel and Saw movies (seen the first Saw though) and the Evil Dead remake. And apparently there's a scene "so intense it reportedly 'traumatized' those present", and judging by all the comments I've seen on Twitter about it, I'm actually worried how I can cope with it. Apparently a lot of people looked away but the sound effects of flesh tearing apart and bones breaking are top notch and they alone will haunt you. The film screened in Venice earlier today and as expected, some people walked out but they also had a medic standby at the door. Fuck me for always becoming interested in films like this. Looking forward to reviews. Edit: Oh yeah I saw The Meg and Incredibles 2 today. The Meg was surprisingly good and Jason Statham continues to remain as one of my favorite Hollywood daddies. Incredibles is by far my favorite Pixar film but the sequel might surpass it, I loved how it focused on Elastigirl a lot because she's my favorite character and Mr. Incredible is my least favorite. Judging by the trailers I thought the scenes of him staying at home and discovering Jack-Jack's powers would be frustrating but Jack-Jack actually gave the best laughs. So far I've seen 25 films in theaters this year with a lot more to come before 2019, breaking my record.

My Infinity War steelbook came in the mail today, I can't wait to order in some pizza w/ home delivery and watch it later tonight. Haven't seen it since the premiere, I've been waiting for this for so long and Thanos is a damn daddy but he's gonna break my poor heart again Anxiously waiting for my DP2 steelbook as well but it's not coming out in Finland until the first week of October fml

If she's going back to being the pop culture "weirdo" of the music industry again and banger experimental sounds I might just go back to being a fan myself

A long-time fan met Britney in Paris and wrote a lengthy post about the experience which is an interesting read tbh. However I think he's being slightly overdramatic to say the least, judging by the way he's describing her towards the end and how he's using CAPS LOCK to emphasize it. Of course I understand his disappointment, even having lost a lot of weight just for the occasion and all but honestly at this point every Britney fan should be aware of how those meet and greets are with her. He was prepared for it, I know, but still - if you've read enough of other people's experiences you know how awkward it'll probably be and the fact that it can turn into a shitshow at any minute. Can't help but feel bad for Britney, it's been clear for years that she's not very comfortable doing them so I think they should just let her be and stop the meet and greets. I assume she likes saying hi to her fans when she's in a good mood but at this point she should take some break from doing it face to face and do Instagram live or something like that, I don't know.

Ew. The only good tracks on Art Angels are (in tracklist order) Flesh without Blood, Kill V. Maim, Realiti and World Princess Pt.II, also Venus Fly on a good (read: rare) day. The 10 others basically sound like filler tracks. Visions however is by far her magnum opus which she did in about three weeks and honestly as brutal/disrespectful as this sounds, I'd rather have her binging on pills and isolating herself from society again if something as good as Visions - or even better - would come out of it. I'd love if she went back to those dark synth-scapes but if she's going to keep the more mainstream friendly sound of Art Angels it should be something like Kill V. Maim which is an absolute banger and not a generic snoozefest. I thought the snippets she posted on Twitter were alright but she can do better. Also she hasn't been active on Twitter for almost a month so I guess changing her name to C and the Azealia mess have taken their toll, I hope she's doing okay and I hope she'd bless us with some good new tracks asap.

I've known she's out there ever since Charli's Vroom Vroom came out, yet I only checked her out when YouTube recommended me the Faceshopping video last weekend. Listening to her newest album at the moment, still in the beginning but something makes me want her to produce a track with Björk rather than Arca.

Exactly! I'd love t-shirts with album covers printed on them but not as a small tacky square in the center how they're usually done - I'd much rather prefer shirts like the black and white Paradise print one sold on Paradise tour. The least they could do is put out some posters with Utopia's promotional images or something and even selling the latest records would be an improvement since concert-goers not familiar with the new material could buy them after the concert.

Phew, what a night! I don't know where to begin so I'll just write from the start We took our usual 30-minute train to Helsinki a few hours before the venue opened because we went to see a graffiti exhibition with a friend of ours. After that we went to grab something to eat and eventually got to the venue a bit over an hour before the scheduled showtime. At the time there wasn't much people there but the atmosphere was nice, some people had champagne and cake and some people hanged around the merchandise stand. I found the merchandise stand badly organized for a couple of reasons. First, as I expected most of the merchandise were from the early 2000s with majority of them being from the Medúlla era, giving the impression that OLI is obviously trying to get rid of the old stuff rather than putting out something new. Also the two Finnish ladies running the stand seemed clueless about what they were doing, there were no price tags whatsoever to be seen and it seemed like they just couldn't really handle it especially when it got crowded. There were some t-shirts with the Utopia cover on them (talk about lazy designing) and I probably would've bought one if they had it in my size but apparently large was the only size available. If I had bought one I probably would've bought this Björk Digital postcard set on top of it as well but I didn't feel like buying the postcards only so I left empty handed which is fine. Oh and as I was going through the shirts just in case to check if they had my size after all I heard one of the ladies saying that not paying in cash charges 10€ extra which I find ridiculous, I don't know if I misheard though. There were people from pretty much every generation, however I noticed there were especially a lot of people in their 30's and 50's. A lot of couples and gay men, some even triggering my daddy issues Apparently some of our favorite big Finnish artists were also there, however we only saw couple of them. They opened the concert hall itself about 40 minutes before the showtime and they played birdsong and some of Body Memory's soundscape. They had curtains which they quickly got rid of right before the start and let me tell you, with all the (stunning) set pieces the stage was definitely cramped - and I realized we were about to be a lot closer to her than I had expected. Once the show started I was glad to see her in one of my favorite outfits during this tour, the exact one that she wore at the All Points East festival in June. After the first couple of songs she thanked in either Swedish or Icelandic but after that she thanked in Finnish after almost every song which was cute. We were a bit left from the center where she spent most of the time but she came right in front of us every now and then and she was so close that we could even hear her platforms as she was feeling the beat. At one point I could also see a huge drop of sweat coming out of her sleeve, it must've been hot for her in all that latex or whatever it was. During Arisen my senses she relied on backing vocals quite a lot but I really enjoyed the choruses of The Gate. I thought Blissing me was somewhat dull until the bass kicked in but I actually liked the live rendition of Isobel which probably got some of the biggest applauds during the evening once people realized what song it was. The beginning of Claimstaker was really something and I could hear someone asking "what's this" behind me with an "oh my god" like tone. It's a shame how captivated Björk was by a teleprompter during the song though, as she hardly raised her eyes from it and at one point she was about to move around the stage but then she quickly took a few steps back so she could see the teleprompter. Overall she often read lyrics from teleprompters which made her seem a bit distant but in my opinion it's fine since most songs in the setlist aren't really easy to sing along to. I was a bit disappointed to see how mild the audience's reaction was to Human Behaviour, one of my favorites, compared to the applauds of Isobel. Björk didn't really let herself go so to speak with the screaming which I didn't really pay any attention to until my boyfriend addressed it afterwards. Tabula Rasa got some of the biggest applauds as well, and the beats/kicks/bass/whatever during the choruses of Wanderlust were a-ma-zing. Before Loss Björk told the audience to stand up if they wanted to and almost everyone immediately did which I was very glad to see, even though some were probably confused. Before Notget she asked people to get up once more, dance and help her sing the song - I literally heard no one singing it though except for myself lol. Even when the song was coming to an end she made people repeat the "love will keep us safe from death" part after her over and over again I didn't actually hear anyone doing it. Overall now that I think about it, we probably should've been a bit more in the center and perhaps a couple of rows back rather than being up front so we could've seen the magnificent set in all of its glory. The fact that she was less than a meter from us at some points (here for example) makes it up for me though, since I could see one of my biggest inspirations and also one of my favorite artists from a very short distance. Something I never thought would be possible. She didn't really say much during the show - I expected her to address the Trump/Putin meeting in Helsinki somehow -, but when she did she was really adorable and her smile is really one of the warmest smiles ever. She didn't have her usual drummer with her but a Finnish guy from Helsinki taking his place, and she gave him a cute look and a smile during one of the songs while she was dancing next to him. After she introduced the flutists and the guy doing the electronic stuff (I didn't catch his name) she said something like "and in the drums we have someone from your own country - and your own city!" and she leaned her microphone to the guy so he could tell us his name himself. The crowd gave him a big applause and cheered, during which Björk had a big smile on her face which I'll never forget. Bless my talented and warm-hearted queen After last night I can say I've seen all of my biggest international favorites for my own eyes and experiencing Björk with her utopia at a small, intimate venue like Finlandia-talo was an unique experience and opportunity I'll probably never get to have again - which eventually makes it all the more special. Even now the whole thing feels absurd and it feels like it was something I just had in a dream but jesus christ, it really happened. I don't really know how to describe it but I'm so happy to have experienced it all from such a short distance and I'm very much looking forward to her next projects - Utopia Flutes, anyone? As soon as we got to the venue we noticed that there were signs everywhere about recording all kind of footage being strictly prohibited, so I didn't have the guts to do it until the songs when people were standing - Loss and Notget, some of my definite highlights -, and even then I tried to be very lowkey about it. However I did manage to get a couple of okay shots, for some reason it won't let me to link them here directly though Sorry for the small size, I resized them to fit here but you know how that turned out... 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

Björk performed at Dalhalla in Sweden last night. Setlist remained the same and she brought back the white outfit from All Points East festival - however she did wear a new red mask. Finland is up next, only two more sleeps to go! I spent yesterday in Helsinki and I was close to the venue (which isn't hard since it's located right in the center of the city) so I went to take a brief look - I've passed it before but I wanted to see if they had any promotion for the show, and I found the poster below as soon as I got there. This week has been very hot in Finland and it's only getting worse so I'm having a minor outfit crisis The venue is kind of a fancy one so I want to look more smart than casual, but also take into consideration the fact that I'm going to Helsinki quite early in the afternoon. The venue opens at 6PM and Björk herself is scheduled to begin at 8PM so I'm loving how early it is, I hate fucking waiting. Thank god Finlandia only has halls with reserved seats so you don't have to go there early to get a good spot, and even if you go as soon as they open they have some cafés you can enjoy a piece of cake in for example and some light refreshments. I suppose they're expensive as fuck though. I'm not in a flat spin yet but excitement definitely keeps on growing the closer we get It's been reported that the production of the concert will be one of the biggest ever seen at Finlandia so it's going to be phenomenal. Helsinki was also supposed to be the last stop of the summer but now it'll be Italy in a couple of weeks since they had to reschedule the show. Here's a video of Claimstaker by the way, which is one of my favorites from the record but I'll have to admit something about the live performance sounds a bit off to me. However I'm happy it's there and that the setlist is a track longer at the moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Co5qFS5UxJw

Five nights left time has gone by so fast omg

Yeah she's done FF in soundcheck but not during the show itself a couple of times. Personally I don't mind because if it was up to me Utopia would end with Paradisa but yeah. I hope she'd do Body Memory at some point eventually but I guess she'd cut it down to 5 minutes, like she has cut Loss from 7 minutes to a bit over 5 and apparently even Courtship last night which is a short one already in its full length. If they really rehearsed 40 songs for the tour I wonder when she's going to twist it more drastically, even though I'm happy with the current one.

Someone on 4um confirmed that she did Claimstaker! Setlist 01. Arisen My Senses 02. The Gate 03. Utopia 04. Blissing Me 05. Claimstaker 06. Isobel 07. Courtship 08. Human Behaviour 09. Tabula Rasa 10. Pleasure Is All Mine 11. Wanderlust 12. Features Creatures 13. Loss 14. Sue Me Encore: 15. The Anchor Song 16. Notget With Claimstaker added I'm perfectly happy with the setlist at the moment Apparently she also had two outfits, the one she's wearing in the photo she uploaded on social media but also a pink outfit for the encore. Needed some digging on Twitter before I found it and the quality is pretty bad but it's definitely a different one - more like a pink fluffy pajama. I guess the wig from Jools Holland also made its tour debut... Someone on 4um also said that the security were somewhat assholes about taking photos -apparently someone close to the stage even got a shouting for taking a photo of the domes at the venue in the afternoon hours before even the opening acts started. I'm well familiar with Björk's cellphone policy but honestly, I'll be somewhat disappointed if I won't get any photo of her myself. It's not like I'd have my cellphone in my other hand for the whole thing but in my opinion paying 200€ for a ticket justifies taking a shot yourself and not relying on Santiago to do it for you - especially since they only uploaded one single photo from last night. Obviously being in the front row might make it a bit difficult for me but from what I've seen, due to the nature of the venue she's performing in Finland there's no security in front since they would block the view as the stage isn't very high. Also the angle of our seats is pretty good, close as fuck but kind of aside rather than in the center and in front of her. Needless to say, I'm just gonna take stock of the situation once it's happening and be respectful about it. We'll see if I have the guts to do it lol Edit: Well apparently the security didn't bother about taking photos after all once the show was on... someone even filmed the whole thing.

Tour continues today! She's on in 4 hours and she did Claimstaker during soundcheck, could tonight finally be its live debut
