  1. thank god, West Coast is one of her magnum opus tracks I couldn't live without tbh
  2. What I'd really like is a timeline summing up the Lust for Life era, all the speculations and the drama of it. Now that my wounds are healed I'd kinda like to go through it again and laugh at it this time around.
  3. I'm not much of a Marvel fan to be honest, I've seen most of them only once but Thor: Ragnarok twice because I bought the steelbook. I went to see Infinity War with my friend on Saturday and it certainly lived up to the phenomenal hype around it, jfc I left the cinema shocked with a minor depression lol. My friend liked it so much that he's seeing it for the second time right now, meanwhile I'll probably just wait until it's out on blu-ray, it was great and probably my fave so far. I like Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Star-Lord, Gamora, Mantis and T'Challa to name a few (Thanos, Hela and Killmonger if we're talking about the bad guys, also Ebony Maw and Proxima Midnight were fun). Never cared much for Iron Man or Hulk. Also I know that Deadpool's not part of the cinematic universe but I can't wait to see the sequel in a couple of weeks Edit: List of the films I've seen (strikethrough).
  4. well thank god it was fake, a horrible song title

I dig the stage and her look, however I do have a slight bone to pick with her about Thunderbolt and The Anchor Song. Girl just no. I'm also surprised she didn't do Body Memory at least yet, ever since the beginning I've been thinking it would be Black Lake kind of a highlight - or maybe just because they're both so long. I can't believe that I'm saying this but I expected more diversity so 11/15 being Utopia and the others being kind of random ones (nothing wrong with Notget though, my Vulnicura fave) I'm not really sure how to feel. Since it's naturally all about Utopia, I would've loved to see her perform all of the tracks and throw in some of those flute arrangements that eventually didn't make the cut. If I remember correctly she thought about doing it and said she could include some of those on the Vulnicura Strings kinda version of the record which i need

It leaked y'all kids and I sure as hell DL'd it. Haven't listened to the new tracks yet except for the title one and Rollin' 'cause I'm waiting for my boyfriend to come home in an hour so I can listen to them with him. Raining Glitter kinda gives me these Fever vibes and I guess that's a good thing

Weird feeling noticing there's a thread for a fellow Finn... and the funny thing is I've hung out with her She used to ad-libs for this Finnish female rap artist for a couple of years (like 2014-2016) and me and my friends got backstage with just the two of them after one of their gigs. She tried to hit on some random chick she had spotted in the crowd by borrowing my marker and writing both her phone and hotel room number on a champagne bottle and there's some dreadful photos of me and her posing like, well, a couple of kids who had just turned 18 - which to be fair was true at the time. She's also pretty much a regular at the gay bar we usually go to, and one time when she recognized me we talked for a bit and she was actually supposed to drop an album in Finnish or something, anyways good thing for her that they scrapped it or whatever because I heard one of the trap-like tracks live and it was absolutely horrible because of the shitty lyrics. Anyhoo I'm not really into her music myself, Karma is okay because I associate it with some damn good party memories of mine and it was a huge hit back in the day over here. But I'm glad to see there's a Finnish artist making some international success these days. Edit: Oh and the original single cover for Karma was better than the one that's everywhere but I can't seem to find it. Had some Vision (Grimes) vibe to it.

Man the vinyls look really pretty, thought I'd buy every single thing coming out this era (well, with the exception of the [coloured] vinyl) but haha I've been spending my money on the digital remix EPs instead because I haven't really been into those remixes enough to buy the vinyls. However I will buy if there's a remix vinyl coming out for Loss or Sue me one day Also I'm wondering if she's still planning to put out the "flute(/whatever) only" version of the album this spring like she said she would. I even had a dream about it last night, its cover had this red background and inside there were some art prints of her standing against a wall with a look totally different from the one she had in the cover - no masks or anything Björk-like and I was like "why is she normal like this" to my boyfriend. Well fuck me hard by the way, while I was writing this I checked and CDON still has the Blissing me vinyl in stock and I'm debating whether to buy the vinyls after all. Fuck.

I was expecting the new single to be better than Dancing but jesus christ Kylie I'm fucking hating the country sound. A gorgeous single cover but the song itself was shit tbh
  17. can they just put Annihilation up on Netflix already and not on March 12... pretty much my most anticipated film this year (well at least so far, along with Tomb Raider ), I read the books ages ago and I'm very much looking forward to listening to the score tomorrow at midnight. Reading all these positive and praising reviews makes the wait even more of an ordeal... And for those of you who don't know about it, it's a film written and directed by Alex Garland (Ex Machina), based on the first book of Jeff VanderMeer's Southern Reach trilogy. Starring Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Oscar Isaac for example, all of them absolutely brilliant. The books are quite trippy to say the least, I can't even imagine what the film is going to be like since the author said that it's even more surreal than the books. I loved Ex Machina so I give Garland all my trust though and I'm loving what I've seen so far. And like I said the reviews have been mostly very positive so far, some even claiming it to be the best sci-fi film in years and others describing it as a masterpiece. However the test screenings earlier last year were quite poor and the studio wanted Garland to change some of the ending and Portman's character a bit since the film is apparently "too intellectual" and complicated for the general public - and having read the book, it doesn't come to me as a surprise at all. Garland however refused and now it's getting a theatrical release only in the US, Canada and China on Friday and starts streaming on Netflix 17 days later everywhere else. I guess you could say that it's being marketed as some sort of a monster flick (which definitely isn't what the book has to offer) but thankfully the director himself said that the trailers are actually quite misleading, with the emphasis actually not being on the relationship of Portman and Isaac's characters and well, the monster(s) as much as the trailers suggest. Anyways, I just can't wait to see the film because I'm beyond excited. A shame I won't be able to see it on the big screen but at least because of the Netflix deal I can watch it anytime I want without having to wait months for a blu-ray release (which I will most likely end up buying though).
  18. I was there, in like 3rd row or so. I was recording a video of her performance so my focus was on her and first I thought it was just a staff member coming to adjust her mic stuff or something but jesus christ I was shocked when I realized it definitely wasn't, stopped recording right there. I looked at my friend and she looked at me, I'll never forget the expression on her face... people were literally shouting things like "WHAT THE FUCK" around me and well, myself included. Finns are very introverted and shy people (like we'll literally do anything to avoid going in the same elevator with our neighbours and stuff lol), some get wild once they're drunk as fuck but I've never seen or heard of someone going on stage at concerts of this scale in our country. Looks can be deceiving but looking at the guy who managed to do that, I very much assume that he was a foreigner.
  19. I've talked about the film over here before but here I go again... it's pretty much needless to say that the Academy snubbing mother! completely didn't surprise anyone, yet it's still a disappointment that it didn't get nominated for J-Law's performance, the sound design or the overall cinematography. I've been so obsessed with the film for the last months that I'm like reading tweets about it on a daily basis and all, and even though the opinions change from extremity to another tweet by tweet I've been so happy to see people defending her performance above all even if they didn't like the film. I've never been that much of a fan of hers but her performance in the film is absolutely incredible. I'm still thinking about the film and all the possible interpretations, Bible references etc. very much and I can say that no other film has ever left me thinking about it this way before, and I've seen a lot of them. The blu-ray's finally coming out here tomorrow so I can't wait to get my hands on it and show it to my friends. I'll most likely also buy the making of book that's coming next month. -- I watched the nominations announcement live and sat through it like "ok next... next... next!" tbh. The Academy Awards are one of my biggest highlights every year, because of the time zone differences I didn't start watching them live until like 3 years ago but I've been watching them as long as I can remember and will definitely be watching them live this year as well, I can't wait. However this year there's a lot of films that I simply don't quite care for or haven't even seen yet (for example The Shape of Water, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, I, Tonya and Lady Bird haven't yet hit the big screen in Finland), I'm rooting for Blade Runner 2049 the most and Dunkirk alternatively. I didn't see Call Me by Your Name until yesterday along with Molly's Game and I quite liked both. After months and months of hype Get Out was a huge let down for me and the biggest one of the year, I get the message the film's trying to deliver but I dislike the film itself so much. I thought it was very boring and the performances were crap except for Daniel Kaluuya so I'm good if he somehow manages to grab the best actor from Gary Oldman - I'm not hoping for that though, Oldman deserves the recognition. Octavia Spencer is precious so I hope they'll give her another award for best supporting actress - which isn't happening because of Allison Janney, she's alright tho - and as for the best actress I'd let my girl Margot Robbie have it even though I haven't seen her film yet. Queen Streep and Frances McDormand both have Academy awards already so they should let MR have it
  20. I don't mean to come off as rude but they are the same genre as they're both drama with some sort of a coming-of-age story, with the exception of fictional Call Me by Your Name leaning more on the romantic side etc. and semi-autobiographical Moonlight dealing more with "bigger" themes like African American identity and its interactions with sexual identity, physical and emotional abuse, misappropriation of drugs and so on. Even though they deal with different kind of issues and have different time frames and settings, both films still focus on the growth of the protagonist - whether it's physical, emotional or both -, so it's not like they're the same genre only because both are significantly LGBT-related. They have more in common than that.
  21. Saw it this morning at the cinema, I liked it but my expectations were low in the first place tbh. Took me back to my teenage years when I dreamed of older men (still do though lol). Didn't find Oliver guy that hot tho Moonlight remains as the best LGBTQ film I've ever seen... a masterpiece

    Kylie Minogue

I only heard it just now from a random website and MQ by the sound of it, it was okay I guess. Haven't found a good download yet so I'll probably wait for midnight to purchase it myself and listen it again. Not the first time I've been underwhelmed by a Kylie lead single, I was never that much into Into the Blue but I started appreciating it when I saw her live and the performance was magical. Nevertheless I am very excited for the album though!

Oh my god, that's ridiculous. I just listened bits of the song and to be honest I can't really see the resemblance between Creep and Get Free. Radiohead wanting 100% is unrealistic to say the least, I'd kind of want to use the word 'megalomania' here but I won't. I just hope our girl stays strongs and the outcome will be fair to her. omg Edit: I guess we can assume it's quite clear this is the reason she hasn't done Get Free on tour (at least yet)?
