I don't care. She knew who he was and chose that. But even if she chose him, she could have said something to that effect but she didn't. Instead she scrambled to keep her fans from talking about it bc that's all she cared about. If that's his only motivation, he's still a transphobe. And Lana enabled that.

Outside of her music, she claimed to support the LGBT community, she claimed to oppose Trump, she claimed both IRL and in song to support BLM, and all that goes for abortion and other issues. Then she married a racist Trump supporter who hates all of those things and wants to violently attack trans women. And when she saw people talk about it, she instead asked people not to and begged fan pages not to address it. Instead of openly responding or affirming she heard us or talked to him or something, she wanted to do PR and do it in a horrible way. I realize now that her commentary on social issues are either lies or completely self-serving and that's it.

After Lana marrying a violent transphobe, racist, and MAGA supporter, I look at her differently. I look at her in a way I should always have. I love her music and art. I genuinely thought she was a good person. But I don't think she is anymore. I should not have treated her the way I did, being uncritical and not separating her art from who she is as a person. So her and her husband being trash actually had a silver lining in that I'm not naive about artists anymore.

I mean, I'm bracing myself for it to be real and for it to contain either blatant or implicit transphobia given her husband and "So Legit" so... the only time that Hayden mentioned Lana was to say she didn't want to be compared to Lana which is a valid thing and not a diss.

Okay I think I've gotten up to date on the people asking for it. Like I said, if anyone wants it, I will DM it. Since the mods didn't say anything and nothing I've given has any material against LB rules...I don't think there should be a rule-type problem with that.

I've taken the public link down, but if people ask, I will give it to them. I'm not a hoarder who doesn't share, and Lana has made the same request and people still do it. I can't see the difference between the two requests.

How do you know that? Have you heard it? (I'm being serious, have you heard it?) Also everywhere I've read about that song (here, Reddit, Facebook, Discord, elsewhere), they've said it's about her.

It's not about her being a woman. It's about her being infinitely removed from Trump's anti-trans, anti-gay, anti-immigrant, anti-POC, etc. agenda. The anti-abortion thing is the only thing she's connected to and she has the wealth to avoid that if she ever needed it. It's a luxury for her to oppose Trump because her life doesn't depend on that. It's a luxury for her to marry a Trump supporter who literally wants to commit violence against transgender people because she doesn't have to live with the consequences of people like that being around. Her ideals mean nothing since it's not like she ever acted on them. For all the shit Taylor Swift gets, at least she actually opposed Trump when it mattered. Lana pretended to be a witch then married a man who loves him. I love Lana but I've had to divorce that from my personal opinion of her as a person. And no celebrity is above critique.

thanks for understanding. the reason i'd have to stop listening is because like... I've spent so much money on Lana. I've bought every edition of her albums and singles, I've bought collector's items and magazines and bootlegs and collected every scrap she ever recorded. for her to ignore the firestorm around the fact her husband posted about beating up trans women - a firestorm that was noticed by even non-Lana fans - was really hurtful to me and everyone probably noticed that in the wedding thread. i ended up getting over that in the naive hope she maybe told him why that wasn't okay. so if she goes ahead and disses Ethel and brings up her trans status in any way would make me think she endorsed that kind of thing her husband posted and...I don't think I could listen to her music and not associate it with anti-trans violence, esp since I've lost a lot of friends to it.

I really hope that "All About Ethel" isn't a real song and that if it is, it's not actually about Ethel Cain. Given "So Legit"'s really fucked up lyrics ("You're looking like a man"), the fact her husband fantasizes about violently attacking trans women and Lana being completely okay with that, and dissing a prominent trans woman artist? As both a trans woman AND a Lana stan since she came out (as LDR)...I would be really, really devastated if she opted to diss Ethel using transphobia. I don't think it would end her career but I do think I might stop listening to her altogether. If it's just a diss song that makes no reference to her being trans, that's fine though. But...I am concerned.

I love Ethel, haven't heard her newest album yet but I'm going to listen. Also she was right, fuck CEOs. Also I found all of her unreleased, even when she performed under a different name. I have a complete collection now!
