It's funny because I find myself listening to the BJ instrumental and singing WG instead or singing the WG chorus instead of BJ's. It fits quite well I find Especially if you think of the BJ lyrics being the girl's perspective and WG being the guy's.

I've been listening to that song for years and I still say Wicked Games, lol.

Also Blue Jeans is very similar to Wicked Game, very similar chord progression (I think it's the same but in a different key), same change of vocal registers between the chorus and the verses, they both have videos in black and white but Chris's is set in a beach while Lana's it's in a pool. She clearly is inspired by him which is a good thing because his music is so good.

I hope it's not like "it's a cruel world because you left me waaaaaaah" bc that got really repetitive on BtD and I hope she has evolved from that

Yeah, Lana's voice is enough to make anything sound ethereal lol. The production is spot on and West Coast still has that Lana mystique. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to hear more from the album!

Makes me think of Goodbye cruel world by Pink Floyd.

Her music, meanwhile, seems in entirety derived from the basic blueprint of Chris Isaak's longing "Wicked Game" (which was conveniently played over the P.A. before the show started)

I'm pretty convinced she is. But Lana doesn't need strings for her songs to sound big and ethereal, which she has proven with West Coast. I love the strings too, but this rock direction works so well for her!

I think Lana might be shelving the string's that permeated her previous albums. I love the strings, but if Lana goes more rock/guitar oriented on this album I will be soooo psyched!

I know, but 'CW' doesn't sound like The Weeknd's version, sounds more like CI's version ... wicked game
