  1. Urban Noize & Lana Del Rey - I Just Wanted You To Know (LDR Remixes)
Over the past couple of months while working on a ton of new remixes, I couldn't help but work on some new Lana ones. As I always do. Ultimately culminating into a nice new project. Inspired by her fourth studio album Honeymoon, her debut Born To Die, and the 3rd Dan Auerbach Ultraviolence, "I Just Wanted You To Know" slowly came together. Ranging from alternative rock, progressive rock & psychedelic pop.

  2. The 80 page Lana Del Rey inspired comic with be produced by Mario Candelaria. and released by Red Stylo Press. As posted on bleedingcool.com:

Singer/Songwriter Lana Del Rey is getting a comic book, and no it’s not made by StormFront Comics. Instead, Red Stylo Press is publishing an anthology of stories inspired by Del Rey’s music, according to a press release discovered in a solicit on comiXology. Mario Candelaria pitched the idea after Red Stylo had success with Angel With a Bullet, a four issue series of stories inspired by Tom Waits.

Contributing to the project, which will be called Baroque Pop, will be the following creative teams:

    Chuck Harrison & Luke Marrone

Daniel Charles & Ashley St. Lawrence (with Scott Ewen)

    Jennie Wood & Chris Goodwin

    Enrica Jang & Jan Velazquez

    Mario Candelaria & Katarzyna Witerscheim

    Michael Lynch & Mira Mortal

    Eric Palicki & Daniel Earls

Additionally, the book will feature portraits by these artists:

    Jim Towe

    Adam Ferris (feat. Lesley Atlansky)

    John Keaveney

    Hoyt Silva

    Fabian Lelay (feat Lesley Atlansky)

Set to debut in April at C2E2, Baroque Pop is seeking funding on Kickstarter, where a description reads:

BAROQUE POP is an eighty-page comic anthology produced by Mario Candelaria and is being released by Red Stylo Press. Inspired by the music of Lana Del Rey, Baroque Pop is a carefully curated selection of short form comics and illustrations celebrating love, loss, success, and change by comic creators who came together after finding mutual solace and inspiration in her music.

Baroque Pop is both an homage to Lana as well as a testament to the imagery and symbolism this modern day muse draws out of artists and writers. Her melodies invoke a sense of longing and wonder and endless hope. Mixed with instrumental tracks that feel cinematic in scope, her tunes practically invite the imagination to run wild painting tiny pictures with the emotions released in every bar, in every hook, until each album resembles a mosaic reflecting our deepest desires and secrets with each subsequent listening

In keeping with the music theme, the book itself will be printed at 7×7 inches to physically resemble a 45 RPM record cover.

The project has already raised over $1000 of its $4000 funding goal. It mentions no official association with Lana Del Rey beyond inspiration.

  3. From the moment of i heard Music To Watch Boys To, i always envisioned the music video being like the Hitch:) voyeur mystery thriller Rear Window. With Lana taking the role of James Stewart. Watching and spying on a potential guy she'd like to date. The twist would be she'd be taking out her competition until had what she wanted.

  4. Don't see the connection. They're both underwater, that's all. Outtakes after 25 years? When will Ultraviolence?

Okay maybe its just me and thats cool, but the connection for me with these Kurt Cobain pictures just being released, is that now i'm getting Cobain vibes from Lana's stills also. Not saying it was intention from, just thought it was weird and dope.

  5. With never seen before outtakes photos from Nirvana’s Nevermind album cover shoot just released today 25 years later, i took a look at a few and realized something very coincidental and striking. Lana’s underwater scene from the Freak music video eerily mirrors Kurt’s solo shots. Awhile paying homage to Les Baxter’s Jewels of the sea album artwork. The connection for me is that now i'm getting Cobain vibes looking back on the stills from Freak. Not saying it was intention. Just saying, a weird coincidence for me. Kurt Cobain photos are credited to photographer Kirk Weddle.

  6. Late to the party :noparty: but i just checked some of your remixes and your soundcloud, and I'm in love with all of them. Also the fact that some of them are remixed with loops of other songs it's just amazing. Summertime Sadness one got me the most, because Califronia Dreamin' is one of my favourites songs, making it a timeless nostalgic masterpiece :oprah: btw you recent MTWBT remix is just :cumming: feels like what would have been if it was a nirvana acoustic  :flutter: looking foward to see more of your work (plus, can i have a download like for them)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Appreciate you checking out the remixes on Soundcloud. And the Summertime Sadness remix is easily one of my favorite remixes that i've ever worked on. With Music to Watch Boys To coming right behind it. The Nirvana mention is so dope. Will send you download link for Summertime Sadness & MTWBT

  7. This is my fifth time in a row listening and watching this :defeated: I'm so angry because every remix of MTWBT is better than the album version to me but this is particularly enthralling, and it makes me appreciate the video which is a tour de force

Wow, wow wow ! This is probably the best comment that i've gotten on it. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for listening.

Wow I love it so much!

And i'm so glad to hear that ! Happy you enjoyed it and thank you for listening.

    Great job !

Thank you ! And glad you had a chance to check it out and enjoy it.

  8. In the wake of Prince’s recent passing, Baz Luhrmann reveals Prince’s early involvement with Luhrmann’s 2013 Great Gatsby soundtrack that never panned out turned into an opportunity for Lana Del Rey and her centerpiece record of the star studded album Young and Beautiful.

"In one of the great sadnesses that I've been reminded of with the passing of Prince is that on Gatsby…I was working with Prince on a song for Gatsby and it was a re-imagined version of a song he did with Martika called 'Love…Thy Will Be Done' and it was going to be a major piece in [the film]," Luhrmann explained. "And we did work on it. He was in Australia touring and we did some work there. We did further work on it. In fact we worked on it a lot. And there just came a moment when — it's a co-owned piece and he couldn't quite get it released. And at that stage I had to make another decision, so I went and worked with Lana Del Rey to do the piece we did."

  9. Critics often write about who got snubbed and who was undeserving in other awards nominations, so here's my take on the Lipsters (still hate that name):

Most Active - Hmmm, none of the top four posters all time nominated despite remaining active.  :biblio:

Best Username - @HONEYMOOOOOON and @@Auto-Tuned Loon got robbed. Given the forum's sophomoric sense of humor, @@analwinterofmylife is a shoe-in.

Best Taste - If @@Monicker had been active in 2015, he'd deserve this.

Worst Taste - Two of the nominees also nominated for best taste. #Polarizing But there's plenty of deserving nominees here who weren't.

Favorite Hoarder - How the fuck is @ not nominated for this one? Hell, he deserves a lifetime achievement award for Most Conspicuous Hoarding. Are you sure you didn't mistake votes for his as votes for @@HeadBitch? I demand a recount. :crossed:

Blogger - A good slate of candidates, but @@SitarHero deserves the nod.

Status Updater - One of the most difficult choices... because they're mostly bad options. Almost all the candidates have been warned for their status posting, troll, or repeat jokes to death. This is like a primary in which every candidate is Trump. Entertaining perhaps, but at the expense of the country. @@naachoboy should win this by default.

Attention Whore - A couple honorable mentions, but this shouldn't be a contest. You're so vain, you probably all think this comment is about you.

Troll - One of the most difficult choices... because there's at least three candidates that deserve it.

Nicest Member - Some good candidates here (though how is @ nicest and rudest?) but @@PrettyBaby got robbed.

Rudest - One of the most competitive categories right here. Almost all the choices are deserving.

Biggest Bitch - "Being a bitch is not being rude, it's being real even if that makes you seem shady." Yet everyone in this category is more the former than the latter. Not being rude, just being real. Even if that makes me seem shady.

    :smile2:

Drama Queen - All worthy candidates, but once again this shouldn't be a contest, and the same person should win as the other no-contest.

Most Iconic - If I had to pick someone other than myself from this list, it would be @@Trash Magic hands down. @@Auto-Tuned Loon got robbed though.

Veteran Member - Not gonna feign humility here. I think I have the best case no matter how you look at it.

Underrated - Hard to go wrong here. There's so many underrated members.

Best Banned Sis - Speaking of underrated, @@Gordo and @@cancergirlloveslana were hilarious trolls that I was sorry to see banned.

Biggest Stan - The Russian girls and the garage robber got, uh, robbed! Just kidding. I'm still puzzled to be nominated for this once again since I don't feel like I relate to stan culture at all. @@annedauphine deserves this.

Be My Daddy - All I can say is damn this forum is gay. With the exception of @, the ladies got majorly robbed here. And apparently my (admittedly wildly overvalued) stock has fallen. :noparty:

Delete it Fat - Another tough decision.

Guardian Interview - And perhaps the toughest.

Girl That Got Away - @@Monicker deserves this, but @@DUKE should have been nominated. Good candidates though.

Big Eyes - Lots of talented artists on the forum, but @@urbannoize and @♥Love♥Lana♥Like♥Life were snubbed in the music category.

SpaceX & Tesla - Picking someone to award based on potential is kinda like giving Obama the Nobel Peace Prize, but I think @@annedauphine deserves this. Especially if we can get @@TIARNZUS to give her the permissions needed to work on the Interviews section.

Christina Lucci - Weird how the gays enjoy her jiggling jugs more than I do, in fact, they annoy me. But why not mix it up a little?

Drama of the Year - Scat gifs. Funny now, not funny then.

Lipster of the Year - @@annedauphine probably deserves this one too for her, uh, enthusiasm.

Probably just torpedoed my own chances by posting this, but fuck it. YOLO.

Oh wow, im just catching this. Thank you for the mention. I really do appreciate it. You're awesome.
