Damn Sucker is getting AMAZING reviews so far which I'm actually really surprised by... I love Charli but this does not seem like a great enough album to get such ridiculous acclaim. If I had to be as unbiased as possible which isn't easy for such a big fan to do, I'd probably give it a 7/10 at most... But with how much Rolling Stone and Billboard have been building her up, it would probably be pretty awkward for both them and Charli if they didn't give her album a good review...

I didn't like Need Ur Luv at first just because the vocals and mixing sounded really strange and unnatural after hearing the live version first, but I'm into it now Body of My Own and Need Ur Love are without a doubt my favorites... The rest is hard to say... I can't say I totally love everything about any of the other songs unfortunately, but most of them are still pretty good. I'm actually really into hanging Around, I would maybe put it 3rd, but I wish there was more to the instrumental and also imo the best part is the "oooha oooha"s at the end so I wish I didnt have to wait for the end of the song to hear my favorite part... That part makes me think the song couldve easily been better. Also Die Tonight grew on me hard even though I will refuse to admit it's not the most generic and formulaic/lazy song Charli's ever made...

Did she confirm Die Tonight? That song is very obviously built to be another hit with the formula of Boom Clap but with lyrics about partying instead of love.

It's SOOOO funky fresh, but I agree about the end. That's the only place I take issue with it... It just got quiet at the end and the stopped. I thought it was building up to a final explosive chorus...

I feel like the rest of the album was supposed to sound more like it :/

The mixing or mastering or whatever on Need Ur Love is really weird and I can't tell if I like it or not. I think I need to just get the live version out of my head and get used to it.

Body of My Own is the true queen... Please someone come agree with me! Being that it was the last song on the album that nobody heard, I didn't think it was going to be so amazing... It is punk, it is sex, it is EVERYTHING. (Ok sorry, Im done raving about it now)

I'm using the US one I'm pretty sure.. I don't remember how I got to it though... At first all I could find is the preorder page for the album which was the same but then somehow I ended up on a page in itunes that let me stream the album for free. Doing It does sound like a HAIM song... (which makes it really good actually lol) OH MY GOD BODY OF MY OWN IS AMAZING. AMAZING. WHY DOESNT THE WHOLE ALBUM HAVE THIS SOUND. THIS IS WHAT SUCKER WAS SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE. JESUS. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH. BODY OF MY OWN IS HOW SUCKER WAS SUPPOSED TO SOUND. BODY OF MY OWN IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE ON THIS ALBUM I DONT UNDERSTAND. ITS SO FUCKING GOOD. If the whole album were like Body of My Own, it would rival True Romance.

It's finally here omg... The beginning of Sucker sounds GLORIOUS. The heart beat!!!! I'm really into it! edit: can't deal with the clean version though...

Hangin Around is cute but I just hear Beverly Hills in the instrumental and melody.. I keep wanting to sing "BEVERLY HILLS!" over it haha. I love the "ooh aa ooh aa" part at the end! On that note, Charli seems to have stopped writing bridges and instead put little "na na na" or "ooh ah" melodies at the end of every song haha. edit: Hangin Around actually has a bridge though and it's cute. I think Hangin Around will grow on me.

Why isn't Hanging Around on tumblr but the others are? I thought someone said they heard it at the same time I was hearing all the other ones too :< or is it new? (Listening to every Charli iTunes Radio station now lol)

Did they just call Die Tonight "experimental"? I'm sorry but it's flat out pop. There's not really anything new or experimental about it. (I kind of like it though, it's adorable)

I've been wondering this too... She's being so villianized right now left and right, and she's sticking to a formula people are getting sick of.. But she is nominated for a lot of Grammys and she's still one of the more famous people of this year. She could release another hit song still.

Just realized how similar Die Tonight is to Boom Clap. It's just the more "party" version of Boom Clap. I guess she thought if her singles like Breaking Up and Break the Rules don't have much of an impact, she can use this as a backup hit lol.

What if Nicki Minaj did this to get back at her for Fancy launching Iggy's career... :eli:

That's the thing. Anyone who thinks she hadn't dumbed her lyrics down (purposefully for artistic reasons or not) is delusional.

I feel like Charli might be the first artist who ever switched from a pitchfork artist to a full blown mainstream pop star... I didn't think it was possible! Die tonight grew on me though... I mean, I can appreciate it as a vapid party song with a catchy tune that I can hum. I just don't think thi album will have much replay value.

Is it too early to say with confidence that I am disappointed in Sucker and it might not make my top albums of the year... I'm sorry Charli I really love you and wanted to like it but... Sigh. I can't stop stanning though lol

Charli plz... :/ I'm certain this is supposed to be a single because it's radio friendly, but its TOO radio friendly, I don't think it could be a hit... I think she kind of tried too hard and missed the mark a bit with what she was trying to do with the more radio friendly songs on this album :/ im afraid she will end up being a one hit wonder solo-wise with Boom Clap...

I think the only two songs it going to give me are Famous and Caught in the Middle... How have people heard other songs? Also I can finally confirm she's saying "got one night!" In Famous... I thought she said "one night" but it kind of made no sense to me but now that I realize she says "got" before, it makes sense.

Famous (feat Greg Kurstin... That's a first I've seen on a song he produced..) just came on!!! I'm listening with earbuds now and I think it sounds better. It's probably the final version and I should just get used to it. For some reason in the verses she sounds really bored though... Like she could've had more energy in her voice.. Idk. Also even though I knew it was coming from hearing the backing track in the live version, the way she sings "just like we're famous" way lower and different live is really throwing me off...

Famous does sound really unfinished... The vocals just don't really sound mixed right... What is happening... I'm not sure if I should listen to the rest of the songs and accept them as they are or hope they are all somehow demos and this whole thing is a screw up... Where did these song a even come from, what's happening? How did you find them on iTunes radio!? Maybe I did just listen to the live version of Famous too much... Ughh Edit: OMG guys it happened!!! I went through all my skips on a few Charli XCX iTunes Radio stations and I couldn't find a new song but Caught in the Middle just started playing on the Boom Clap station!!! (And it sounds ok to me tbh, probably because I never listened to the live version really)
