I thought you stanned for Iggy?
-
Other than the "white beautiful and Australian" part which came out a lot more racist than I think she intended, I see her point and kind of agree even though I'm not an Iggy fan and wouldn't speak so highly of her music.

His girlfriend (Ms Universe) went to my college! She's like my age too I think. I know people that know people that know her lol. Edit: oops thought this was a Nick Jonas thread on accident... I saw a Nick Jonas post and forgot where I was... 2 up is cute!

It's too early for this

Just checked Sucker's writing credits and gotta say I'm kind of disappointed how many co-writers it has... True Romance had so much less co-writing... How did it take 6 people to write Break the Rules? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sucker_(album) edit: also omg that Benny Blanco produced Caught in the Middle! Isn't he a hotshot producer?

The shoot is amazing though, I LOVE that picture of Charli with the rose from Rolling Stone. And I love Marina but has she met Terry? I don't know if it's really our place to judge. Charli knows plenty of people including Sky who have worked with Terry before. We don't really know anything compared to the people in the industry.

I like the explicit/original way better. Roller-coaster till we die is just... idk If it were the original lyric fine but it's such an obvious censor of "coming up" which I don't even think is that bad. And the lyrics are already cheesy enough as it is without removing all the drug references that make it psuedo-cool.

It would be perfect for Mess and Midnight to leak now because she's so done with everything from True Romance it's not likely she's ever going to use them for anything anyway so it wouldn't hurt sales or negatively affect her at this point.

Last nights episode was SOOO good!!! This season was mediocre until they killed the clown tbh. It's gotten better and better since then. I almost cried... Pepper

Soo good!!!!! Her best tv performance yet! Wow!!!!!! She should do songs like this more often! Anyone who saw this will know shes the real deal and not just some new pop girl who was on fancy.

@@Sucker what's up with Charli's left (our right) arm in your avatar? It's half covered in a sleeve but half totally exposed and I don't really understand how it's working..
-
It's disappointing imo it sounds so boring the way she recorded the vocals for the studio version.

Lol it's "technically" a comic book store. Its called Newbury Comics but it's a big store that sells CDs, Vinyl, DVDs, random posters, novelty gifts, and all kinds of stuff. Ps: I already bought Sucker on itunes so this may be the first album I end up buying twice! I was originally just going to wait for the physical but after buying Boom Clap, Break the Rules, and Breaking Up, I was able to pre-order the album for like $4 so I figured why not.
-
Is it really that hard? The first record store I went to had it, and it's been playing there twice when I've been. Also I see the vinyl at every urban Outfitters

I actually missed this part but my room mate saw her do Boom Clap and told me the outfit was atrocious... I don't think its that bad but.. I see where she's coming from. But she said she liked her outfit for Break the Rules! lol Edit: maybe she's tryig to bring boobs back! It's been all about ass lately. I don't think anyone's focusing on boobs anymore! Edit again: lol that her band has to have super unsexy costuming for this one.. :<

Apples and Cigarettes, I'll Be Your Girl, Cut it Out, Cathedral

She SLAYED a Break the Rules on SNL! It was less theatrical and more like her real stage presence live, and it SLAYED so hard her vocals were on point and even my room mate who doesn't really care for her said she sounded really good!
-
Yeah even though the vocal mixing on Need Ur Luv sounded weird at first, I'm used to it now and the whole thing is just flawless.

The last paragraph of the Sucker review on pitchfork sums up the way I view it pretty well I guess. (They gave it a 7.6 btw, like damn this album is getting such good reviews and I was scared it was going to be torn apart...) "With that said, there's something undeniably exciting to me about a scenario in which a young fan, fresh out of falling in love with "Boom Clap" or "Fancy", comes to this record and discovers an uncompromising, ferocious talent, self-assured and empowered and incredibly versatile. Sucker isn't an endpoint for Charli—she's already talking about her next record, inspired by J-pop and "intensely weird and childlike"—and it's not her finest work, but it's plenty good enough to rope a cohort of new fans into what's promising to be one hell of a creative ride."

His cover of break the rules is SOOOOOO bad... Like funny bad... How did they put that in a commercial? Who let that happen?

There's no explicit mention of a god. Spiritual fulfillment =/= a diety. I'm an atheist but I'm trying to be spiritual. Spirituality has a misleading name but really its just the other part of the puzzle. Science tells us "how?", spirituality asks "why?" I think the lyrics are vague because she's not trying to say she suddenly became religious and that's what made her happy, she's saying she finally feels fulfilled and that can happen to anyone for any number of reasons without believing in God.
-
Really good idea! I will probably make one with Happy on it. ugh it's SOOO good. Like, this album could be a masterpiece. Like everyone had said, it's so raw. I can really feel how she feels. I think lyrically it seems even more honest and autobiographical than Obsessions and Numb. Teen Idle was decent... But definitely the worst of her piano ballads. It seems less genuine than the other lyrics she's written. This song is really inspiring me in a time in my life I need it most. I haven't felt such an emotional connection to a song in a LONG time.

Same I live in a big city and the closest target is in some suburban town that will be difficult to get to since I rely on public transport and don't have a car...
-
It's so beautiful... I feel like this is the most personal song she's ever written. It's 100% autobiographical and it takes a lot of courage to admit the things about her life that she did to her fans. I love her so much, and I regret ever saying anything bad about Electra Heart I hope I feel how she feels one day. I feel like this song could be the way I'll reflect one day if I'm lucky.

The chorus of the song is literally "fuck you" and people are complaining they think she said the f word?
