I don't have SUPER high hopes but I'm definitely excited to see how it all sounds together and with all the studio versions. I can tell from the Famous live recording in Chicago though that the studio version is way out of her range (You can hear it in the background) and singing WAAAY higher than how she sings it live. That's just something I'm preparing myself for. I think a similar thing happened with London Queen. I'm not into how layered and echoey her voice is mixed on it.

I finally came around and got into "Take Me To Church" by Hoizer, and it reminds me of Cathedral by Kitten. It's like what if Chloe is the girl he's singing about. He wants her to take him to church, and Chloe will be his cathedral.

I was a hater when my friend first showed me Take Me To Church but I ACTUALLY listened to it yesterday and liked it. I love the metaphor. The chorus is amazing and I love the whole church metaphor. It reminds me a lot of Kitten's song "Cathedral".

She was SOOO good live when I saw her! I'm shocked! It's clear from the amount of autotune that the song isn't in her range or something. It almost seems like they knew nothing about MØ and her voice/style, they just picked her because she seems hip, and then even though she couldn't sing anything like what they wanted for a pop hit, they felt too bad to not use her (or were legally bound)...

Unrelated but I also wore that Charli shirt (in your avatar) when I saw HAIM because Alana (I think) tweeted a picture of it before lol

For me it's most evident in the bridge of Never Wanna Know. She sounds just like Lana there. Also there's an avici song featuring her that everyone mistakenly thinks is Lana

The show I saw her on her last tour before this one was like the only show she didn't meet people... I do t think she came out to meet people after any shows on this tour now that she's kind of famous, and the other two times I saw her was opening for Marina (she might've been somewhere but I was waiting at the front for Marina) and at a special event in London where she left right after she played. She did take my hand during "take my hand" though haha

I've also seen her 4 times and have never met her lol

The more I listen to Famous, the more annoyed I am it wasn't the next single... Break the Rules and London Queen do NOT have the appeal of this song... I just want a non live version so I can make people listen to it when we go out...

Honestly this would've sounded pretty good if Charli sang it... MO's voice, or whatever computer generated voice they put on here, doesn't fit as well as Charli would.

Fancy no, I doubt it. I kind of doubt Kingdom too but I don't know that I'd be opposed. The way Lorde described it has me really excited. It sounds like a glimmer of hope in a mostly emotionless album.

Electra Heart was messy though. This era feels fresh, and like Marina really knows exactly what she wants. (and who she wants to be. )

I feel for Ethel now... That's about the only one though. I mean, I feel for her son too I guess. I'm giving it time. First episode I thought it was going to be amazing, now I'm questioning, but we shall see.. It doesn't help that this is the first season I've watched on TV instead of finding links for online, and the commercials are killing me. I would stop watching it live except it's a thing where I go over to different friend's apartments to watch it with them. Commercials literally every 10 minutes and sometimes less. It felt like nothing happened because my friend and I would keep saying "commercials again? nothing has even happened since the last one ended!"

really? I thought this one was unbearably slow, probably because there were so many damn commercials. The episode ended at 11:18... Not even a full hour and a half like the last two, and SO MANY COMMERCIALS. It really didn't seem like much happened until the very end, but hopefully next week will be intense.

Ugh.. Not my favorite. I need I Need Your Love... Also I'm really curious about the tracks she didn't play... I wonder if she didn't play them because she doesn't like them as much or they are actually really amazing and she wants them to be a surprise. To be honest, most of what she played isnt as "raw" as she keeps saying this album is, right? In her last Twitter Q&A she called True Romance "shy and bruised" but tbh I would call True Romance more raw. I don't feel that much emotion in famous, caught in the middle, etc. Whereas Grins sounded very "raw" emotionally to me.

LITERALLY I was going to ask about that because I just listened to the unreleased and noticed there weren't as many as I thought because a lot were demos and remixes, but the Apples and Cigarettes Demo 1 sounded exactly the same as the studio, whereas demo 2 sounded less finished, which seemed backwards to me.
