I want a snippet! (Can’t believe I am writing this) And a fake date for the cover album!
-
Probably nothing, but the link to BB doesn’t include Spotify…

Watch her post a Picsart selfie with a fake date for her cover album

She has way too much control over us: she only reactivated her Insta and we’re losing out shit wondering what it means as if it was some big announcement

Lol the RCS post is still there.
-
Yep. I was just getting used to it.

Blue Banisters - Pre-Release Thread: OUT October 22nd, 2021

Hahaha she’s back it sounds like something like this: Lana: I deactivated my socials, I need a little break. interscope: -
The singles got a global release. Plus there is no physical copies of them involved. Dealer leaked probably because from one of the few lucky that got their hands on COCC when it was sent to mixing. But the album having multiple physical variants and midnight release look very good for it not to leak.

Yeah we are always craving more from her and when her album is shipped early, no way we won’t « share » the good news with other stans. I also think that it’s almost become common for her stuff to leak, like it happened so many times already, it’s not that bad if it happens once more, that fans don’t consider how it might affect her team. I thought Lorde’s fans were so nice in that regard, when SP was shipped early. That’s my prediction too.

I really love the harmonies and how simple and laid-back it is. It’s the kind of song you could sing at a bonfire.

I think NFR is a good representation of the album: piano, a doomed love story, Mellotron, Laurel Canyon singer-songwriter vibes, Lana mentioning the word blue lol. But with Mac and VB following it, no song stood a chance as a grand opener… anyways, I began loving Text Book so much more knowing it was the opener of BB. It was the only place the song was « fitting » on the tracklist it seems.

Since NFR, her opening and closing tracks never seem like the right choice… like we need to let them sink in, as opposed to BTD, Cruel World, HM and Love (same with almost all of her closers), which hit right away. The only time that an opener or a closer from her struck with me after LFL was White Dress. That being said, I wouldn’t change any of her openers or closers, it’s just that her albums don’t hit as hard from the beginning nor haunt you at the end.

Probably unpopular and I have yet to hear BB in full, but… To appreciate Chemtrails better, you should listen to it in the fall, when the weather is cooling down a bit and your « regular life » is on full mode. All the songs that I didn’t listen to as much this summer (Dance Till We Die, Wild at Heart, Let Me Love You Like a Woman and For Free) sound much more « fuller » and not as « watered down » as I felt in the spring. And well, it’s not as surprising since this album is mainly a reflection on her craft and falls are usually synonymous of going back to work, so I think that why the songs hit differently. As for BB, I’m sure I’ll love it no matter when it comes out, but the themes of healing, the whole « cabin feeling » of the album, the thunderstorms and the black bathing suit situation seem to be better fitting in the spring.

Same! I always saw her songs as « a capture in time », expressing how she was feeling at that moment. In a society that negates « negative » feelings, she is a breath of fresh air. It’s important to acknowledge when we feel sad / shitty / unappreciated and not bottle those up and her music is therapeutic in that way, by helping me acknowledge and better understand how I feel. That being said, the only album of her that can « depress » me is UV in the middle of winter, with my mild seasonal depression, when I listen to it from cover to cover: I have to listen to it sparsely.

For the most parts, yeah but we sure are a crazy bunch

Unpopular but LB is not always representative of the whole Lana fan base, at least when it comes to numbers and what are her « best » albums. On LB, Wildflower Wildfire is often said to be the best out of the four singles released, and yet it has the lowest streaming numbers on Spotify. Fan favourites here : California, Shades of Cool, Heroin… Heroin and California didn’t even break the 50M stream barrier and SoC doesn’t even have 100M streams on Spotify. Not that those songs aren’t excellent, on the contrary, but when we are manifesting the next album to sound like those, not so sure if that album would be considered a success outside of here.

I Talk to Jesus is so underwhelming and I’m glad it is not on BB. The verses are good but the chorus sounds like a Sunday morning Christian contemporary soft rock song Wild One has incredible verses but something is a bit missing from the chorus and the bridge (I like it though, as opposed to I Talk to Jesus).
