It really is a weird prerelease era. the album is so close and yet nothing happens. i get that she wanted a more quiet era, I get that COViD probably changed her plans, I get that sis is tired (I probably would too after the backlash she received this year, even if it was in part her fault), and yet, it’s weird, to stretch the very few things for promo over that period of time.

I don’t think AKA will be rereleased. She mentioned doing that after BTD... but she re-recorded Yayo for Paradise. With the video for Pawn Shop Blues, she might have considered an unreleased collection at some point, with some songs from AKA. Although some songs are excellent on AKA, I find others a bit meh. My only hope for Aka songs would be on a « best-of » compilation rather than a rerelease. as I said last week, I’d love a special vinyl like the heart-shaped one from UO with Love and Lust for Life, but this time, with White Dress and Pawn Shop Blues (it really is one of finest writing on AKA).

Chemtrails could be her best tracklist ever. Wild at Heart gives me strong God Knows I Tried vibes by the title. Not All Who Wander Are Lost seems to connect thematically with Ride. Dark But Just a Game has a nice opposition, although it could be her most Lana title out of the bunch. Dance Till We Die has me intrigued, especially since Mojo called it outstanding.

(Sorry, honeybadger, I didn’t want to quote you and now I can’t undo) that fan account assembled all the info we have on all the songs, including the Mojo interview. White Dress is described by Lana almost as « free journaling ». Line Venice Bitch, I think it will create a « mood » rather than some super coherent lyrical masterpiece. Venice pulled it off because it was all about getting high; White Dress could work since the song is about memories of her past, where the memories aren’t always coherent. https://www.instagram.com/p/CLkMh_sHOUa/?igshid=zk8steawjl3

About the political outtakes of LFL, I wonder if some of those got reworked into Looking for America... we know it was recorded for the shooting that had happened at the time, but maybe some of the lyrics were from other songs... ? its true that Old Money is miles from Methamphetamines... but I think I read somewhere it was re-recorded after BTD, maybe for Paradise? I’m not sure though. anyways, you’re right about TNBAR and Yosemite not being retouched at all or slightly for their respective albums. Question is: when will she include Dealer on some project?
