  1. The video is very cute. Wasn’t sure how they would capture the feeling of the song, but it does. It’s not the Rich Lee videos, nor the Chemtrails one, but I like the metaphor of Time « skating by » of the body double, juxtaposed to her present self
  2. For Free is a wink to both Dance Till We Die (I cover Joni) and the whole « Laurel Canyon » feeling of both Norman and Chemtrails. Joni was one of the front figures of Laurel Canyon in the 70s, so it’s fitting to end up Chemtrails with that song IMO.
  3. Did Ben post a sorta trailer on his Insta? With more parts of WD...
  4. So... The first three songs are not only a 1-2 punch, but sound a bit like « we are departing NFR ». LMLYLAW begins the rest of the album, the folk and countryish sound. I now get why it was chosen as the first single (and it really sounds better on the context of the album, although I already loved it). And that album sounds so much better and intimate with good earphones.
  5. Totally agree with you on the cycles of the albums! Chemtrails does feel like the ending point begun with LFL. And the next album could be the starting point of a new cycle!!
  6. I get that! And yet, it’s super cohesive... I am super curious about Dealer, but maybe it would have felt out of ´place?
  7. An 80 would be fantastic. Norman was probably her « peak » when it comes to Metacritic, at least for a while. For Norman’s successor, it’s honestly excellent (I must say I was a bit concerned by Chemtrails at first and was scared it would be a bit of a letdown, which it isn’t)
  8. The right reasons: hell yeah for free: my bank account says otherwise (I bought the box set after because I felt bad). But hey, I’m still so strange and wiiillldddd!
  9. Same! Again: wtf is going on with this release?!? First, all those vinyls/ box sets/ CD shipped early... and yet the streaming is postponed or whatever?!? Da fuck?
  10. I, on the opposite, am glad that I listened to the leak. I had a shitty week last week and it gave me something to hold on to. Plus I was able to listen to it at home and process it all (I.e. crying like a baby on some tracks). if it is released tomorrow as planned (Wtf is going on with this release?!?), I will be on my way to work, which is less than ideal to listen to a new Lana album. Plus I can’t write all of my thoughts here while driving to work. So, yeah, I regret nothing
  11. I bought the box set and after having seen pics on Twitter, I can’t wait to have it in hand
  12. I seriously can’t wait anymore!!! I listened to the leaks a couple of times, but didn’t put them on my phone, not to overplay it, but damn, I want to listen to the album from cover to cover (I always skip the singles the first few times)
  13. Plus I loved diving into the album without having heard WD. For those who didn’t hear it yet, it’s worth the wait in the context of the album, even though I used to be a fervent fan of having it released as a single.
  14. Have you heard the album? Because I have a theory about the trailer but don’t want to « ruin » anything for you when you first listen to Chemtrails. So I’m putting it in spoiler.
  15. About the original cover of Chemtrails... In a couple of albums, it will probably become low-key iconic because it is so ugly compared to the rest of her discography
  16. A couple of reviews are already out. Just like Mojo, Télérama gave it an 80. So far, the reviews are very positive. and she seems to have avoided the «curse of Norman», where the album would have tanked because it was Norman's successor and not it's own thing (I'dont know if I make any sense).
  17. Agree! The Annie Mac interview made me really say that this time, she could be going away for a bit, to figure out what the new original album will sound like. That being said, the cover album(s?) should drop at some point in the near future, I guess.
  18. It’s a classic! Just like the vinyl colours.
