  1. I really hope we get some sort of news regarding NFR this week. A snippet, or a single announcement, or the cover or???
  2. I love Marina and all, but I mostly trust Lana with her collabs: I love all the ones she did before, even the ones I was really unsure of at first. As long as they don’t feel forced, I support her.
  3. The drama was all over the place, indeed! I loved that we learned about the songs through interviews, loved the teasing through snippets, the visuals for the two videos were stunning... But the whole pre-release period was just so looooinnnnnggggg! But what I hated the most about LFL will always be the rabid fans calling the whole era and album a mess all the time, as if they were suffering some sort of PTSD. Get over the LFL bashing, people!
  4. Her best pre-release period was the one before HM: a teasing of the title track in June, the track in July, HBtB in August, the track listing and cover art the same month, and 3 singles before HM. All that in 3 months. I am not that much of an impatient fan, but a pré -release period that extends up to 6 months? Too long, honey, too long.
  5. I get that. I moved on to non-Lana music at the moment. Ironically, the music industry seems to enjoy super long pre-release periods or surprise releases. If Lana indeed releases NFR in March, her pre-release would have lasted more than 6 months :/ Could be why we got so much snippets so far : to avoid a desert. Plus the Holiday season is almost upon us and I don't expect much during that month.
  6. After hearing MAC and VB, I wasn't sure how a Marina collab would have fitted in there, even though I thought it was a sure thing, from the pictures we had seen so far of the two together with Jack. I trust her with her collabs. The only thing I want would be a «forced» one.
  7. I am surprised that the Marina collab won't happen, with the pictures of them with Jack. I ain't bummed nor excited by this. NFR might sitll have 2 collabs. A third one would have been a bit "packed" on an 11-song album (though i know the number of songs may change).
  8. I love all the songs they did together. But I think he is very busy (he scores soundtracks with big shots). I think if she can bring him for one song on each record, we’d be lucky.
  9. Love your point of view! And I totally agree with you: the polical songs on LFL are not THAT political. Maybe more peace-oriented, which is fine by me. And when it comes to « quality », I believe it’s there on that album. And if someone doesn’t like it, go back to listen to radio for a while: you will find LFL to be a masterpiece in comparison to the crap playing right now. When the instrumentals leaked, I was pleasantly surprised by the nuances and layers in so many songs.
  10. I love her voice on IMF. I also love that’s the only song in her repertoire, in my knowledge, where she is pissed. And I love it.
  11. I love your point of view. It's nuanced. I think was summarizes best LFL was the caption she made when she released the tracklisting, which was handwritten: Lust for Life / Lost for Life? It captures beautifully the essence of the album, when you are at a crossroads in your life and you are a bit "all over the place". True, the album varies for subgenre to subgenre, but I don't find the shifts too abrupt. That album is the result of so many factors: the leaks, the personal events in her life, etc. Its diversity sounds fresh in her discography as a whole, even if it wasn't meant to sound like that at first, like we all know.
  12. I wouldn't mind the Larina song to be released soon
  13. I love the lyrics to HTD , her voice on it and the piano melody. If she decides to release it more acoustic, I will still love the song, even if I liked the beats they put on last Saturday.
  14. It's a good song I am not the huggest fan of Marina, to be honest (I love her voice and many of her songs, but I don't own a complete album from her), but it's a cute pop song
  15. I'm sorry, but if you only listened to LFL 5 times from cover to cover, or if you rearranged the tracklist, you can't have an opinion on this album. Period. Lana makes storytelling albums. True, you can listen to songs separately, but you miss the bigger picture. You have to let yourself be told a story, and you need to listen to the album a couple of times from cover to cover to understand it. She is one of the few that does that. For all of her albums, there was always a part of them that I was more attracted to at first. But after a few weks of listening, the songs you like the least become the ones that sunk in and that you prefer. With UV, I loved songs 1 to 6, and the last ones were a bit of the same to me; then I learned to hear the subtilities of them and I love them as much as the first 5. With HM, the last part of the album was the one i prefered; now, when I think of HM, the songs before the interlude are the ones that come to mind. With LFL, I was drawn to the first half of it. Then, the latter songs have struck a chord with me and I love them all. LFL is more diversed, but it tells a story and is not a Spotify playlist as many of you said before. It's not my fave from her, but it is certainly not the mess you all bitch about when you only listened to 5 songs.
  16. Yeah me too. Then I remember she's just bad at evaluating time for a project or at marketing stuff. other lesson learned: when she brings up the word maybe, it was like when my dad said it when I was young: it was the equivalent of a no.
  17. If I remember right, she said that she had a bit of a "writer's block" between the release of LFL and the beginning of NFR (which she began working on in January). I think she was exploring a lot of possibilities and avenues last October or November, and she might have considered beginning LDR6 with RBFY. On that video, she seems to be wondering what to do with that song. But I agree with you that LFL was intended to have a more acoustic side that I would have loved.
  18. She said that just after BTD was released, even before Paradise.
  19. I have a feeling that she will still make music, but the albums won’t come out as frequently. She has a Broadway in the works, she started writing (so, side projects she might want to dive into on the future) and we know she wants kids at some point. All of those could slow down her album pace. But hey, if she wants to keep it up, I won’t argue: I loved every project from her.
  20. I could be totally wrong, but I feel like NFR will be her last «LDR album» for a while. She is supposed to work on a Broadway (an album could come out of that, but maybe not sung by her), and this is the project we know about. But maybe in between the 2, she'll like to put out an album of her unreleased stuff (she should hurry though, since there is always a clever fucker who finds its way in on her hard drive). The problem with a AKA re-elease is Yayo that got reworked for Paradise. To have a song with 2 different productions on 2 albums is kinda unlikely. although there are some very good ones on AKA.
  21. I love the title. Lana’s always had Americana références in her music and Norman Rockwell is as American as it gets. The fucking brings a subversive side to it
  22. I disagree. The lyrics are meant to be simple: she paints a idealized relationship. It’s like watching a painting in a museum about a beautiful landscape that calms you down but is far from reality. Cherry, with all of its naive elements (cherries, wine, peaches and rosemary) is similar: this is an ideal she wishes she had. All of the songs of this era are superb. Really love the melancholy of HTD.
  23. With this era, it’s hard to say what the lead single will be, and with Lana in general: she is a record-artist that does very well on streaming platforms and has not very much radio playing Value.
  24. Seems more unlikely with each day passing, sadly. I love BAR and RBFY, but they wouldn’t fit NFR from what we heard of it. Yosemite, since we never heard it, has a slight Chance? It would fit the Laurel Canyon vibe. But this is based upon two Lana descriptions, which are not super accurate all the time.
  25. Maybe or maybe not. I have the feeling that to bring MGK was last minute addition but the song existed long before that. That or the MGK track was done and she got back to finish HTD.
