  1. Indeed!!!! Worst part was when Hope had been released and there was nothing to cling on to. We already knew the album was done and mastered at that point (that was before Doin Time was even recorded though), and nobody was giving us anything: no post, no livestream, no snippets, Billie’s album « taking the place » of Lana’s (or so we thought), the false release date Billboard went along with… i can’t say that this pre-release has been formidable for LB, perhaps I take it now with a grain of salt, but it doesn’t seem as worse.
  2. Maybe a mandatory visit into the NFR pre- release thread would help newbies not to get WP ? a lot were given out in that bottomless pit of despair of a pre/release
  3. THANK YOU!!! THIS!!!! And it’s always a « masterpiece » and « 10 times better than half of the songs of the album » it could have been part of Judging production of this album based on leaks is way too hasty
  4. Imagine a Rich Lee double MV of Peppers and Taco Truck out for the summer (she followed him on Insta so who knows? I love all of their MV)
  5. And here it is again: LB making up compilations of unreleased songs when BoZ said it wasn’t a music project, at the sight of maybe SYTH being released Never change, LB, never change
  6. To me, it’s still a bigger surprise than some suggested at first (pregnancy? MV? ) Anyways, when it comes to surprises, new music will always be what I’d want first and foremost
  7. If Yes to Heaven is officially released, I can only wish Fine China would follow sometime after or even on the same day. I love some of her unreleased songs but I don’t think a collection is such a good idea in the end. A couple of standalone singles though… yes to Heaven is not the best but if she can get her coins and we can hear the final version of it, we could give it a rest. But watch SYTH doing better than Ocean Blvd (which would be such a shame)
  8. Releasing Say Yes to Heaven would be the only way to have Rick in this era
  9. Critics usually have a broader spectrum than LB when it comes to cohesion Like I said before, if she explores many genres, it’s not that big of a deal to a lot of them, as long as the message gets through. If the lyrics feel forced or seem to be out there for the sake of controversy, this they will take note of. Or if the message of being broken leads to the remedy of being horny, that would be noted.
  10. The Grants is probably my number 2. It complements so well Ocean Blvd And I guess it helped a lot, reading spoilers before ever listening to it: I knew the intro would be a bit weird (even if it makes a lot of sense: let’s begin the album with an imperfection that transforms into something super polished; that’s why it think this album won’t be on HM super-posh-and-polished kinda level: many « imperfections will be on that album)
  11. Same A&W sure is the most innovative but I don’t click with the lyrics much TBH and that’s always the biggest part of loving a song for me.
  12. if you don’t want to be spoiled of anything about the song, then don’t open the spoiler tag…
  13. The Grants… - True, some of the lyrics could complement Yes to Heaven (although the Grants’s lyrics are way superior) He doesn’t like that song, he loves pretty much the rest but not that one.
  14. Isn’t it the opposite? We wouldn’t have Ocean Blvd if the other two didn’t exist?
  15. Lana really is down that singer-songwriter path she always was on but might not have been as apparent at first. Agree 💯 with what you said: it’s not for everyone. but for me, it is incredible, to be able to hear such songs, especially the new ones with the orchestra. It’s when I try to get back to pure pop that I find it boring, soulless and manufactured (for example: Miley’s latest really didn’t do much for me ; I really thought it followed the recipe to female pop singers putting out a breakup album. No tea no shade towards her or anyone who loved it though)
  16. At first, Most people here loved it. But I began reading a bit more negative reviews of the song when it was confirmed it would be the third single. personally, I love it: it is really moving and it blends so well with the title track while still not giving away on the « big songs » of the album.
  17. I really like The Grants, it is so gorgeous and it blends so well with the title track. The title doesn’t make much sense though… But BoZ did say most of the songs didn’t. It’s a good promo single, 10 days before release : it gives us some insight on the family related songs while not spoiling too much of the « bigger songs » on the album.
  18. The Grants… It is so beautiful 🤩 And it blends so well into Ocean Blvd title track
  19. Is it me or is there a lot of pressure on this album to deliver 10/10 only songs? Norman is my favourite so far, but all songs on it aren’t perfect 10/10 separately, but as a whole, it’s one of the most pleasant listens to me… Same can be said about all of her albums… Plus songs hit différent over time or in certain periods of the year… anyways…
  20. I’m telling myself she will post about it later this week so I can focus on The Grants
