hmmm yes in the sense that the singles demonstrate kali's ability to take her influences and experiment with those genres that are familiar to her but not as present in her discography, and no because everything on the album sounds completely different compared to the singles, lots of different genres that she pulled from, however, it's all very classic Kali. It's interesting to me how she managed to balance her most commercial aspects within her most versatile album, the last track especially sounds like a surefire hit, but you wouldn't guess that the rest of the album sounds completely different from it.

Regarding the latest version of the album (because lord knows how many albums she actually cut during her 7 years) before she left Polydor is that it was supposed to drop in 2021 and "Call On Me" was the lead before she went AWOL after it underperformed. Songs that were intended to be on the album were played on her infamous June 2021 instagram live which included - Born Again - Fantastic - The Thrill is Gone (Demo) - Buss It Down + Call on Me These were the only "confirmed" tracks by Raye but as we know, lots of album sessions leaked in the following years. An album cover was also shot for said album but has yet to leak. I made an album comp with the best sessions (imo) and it's honestly a very solid dance pop record with lots of songs that should've seen the light of day.

idk Tommy encapsulates the desperate heartbreak / longing energy perfectly that's being sold by cathy's delivery but it also fits thematically with Dramatic, My Body, Rhinestone Heart & Tear Me Open and i'm sure the final master would be a complete serve. It definitely deserves to live in the same universe as the rest of the songs on the album.
