  1. Was just about to ask that question. They don’t look like her dancers and don’t look like they are tour crew so I’m pretty sure they are back up singers.
  2. Before the video I thought “White fire, cinnamon on my teeth and I’m sitting at a stoplight in northern town. I feel lucky.” was Lana going back to her hometown after her fame and every fucked up thing she has seen on Hollywood but after seeing the video I think it’s actually the opposite. It’s young Lana/Lizzy getting ready to leave her hometown, she is on the verge of a new beginning and she feels lucky. It also ties with how she drives somewhere out of range, somewhere far away. I don’t understand what white noise coming out of brain means but maybe it’s her getting robotic and losing herself on the journey of fame?
  3. Yeah they are shot professionally too. It’s clear they were going for this from the beginning.
  4. I kinda actually like the breaks between verses. Candy Necklace has an amazing cinematic piano so the whole thing just feels like a movie and the breaks are the soundtracks if that makes sense? (I even maybe preferring the breaks to the verses)
  5. Not sure if it’s been talked but I can’t find some of the scenes she posted on insta in the YouTube video? I’m pretty sure they are sitting on a full professional footage video.
  6. I always thought it was to give Lana space to kinda playback but watching the Sacramento show where her vocals are louder she actually is singing all the lines (even the cherry chorus) and she is singing so fucking good so I don’t get why we have those over powering backing vocals.
  7. I don’t think the band is the problem, to me they are actually one of the best part of her concerts, they are actually pretty incredible but I think they just didn’t care enough like they did back then on paradise tour. I think keeping the trio, bringing back a bass player, hiring a string quartet would be more than enough. They just need to sit down and plan on the show from start to finish and try to make it organic, not a mimication of studio songs.
  8. Ocean Blvd Festival Tour 2023-24 South America 27 May - Rio de Janeiro, BR - MITA 3 June - Sao Paulo, BR - MITA Festival Europe 21 June - Somerset, UK - Glastonbury 9 July - London, UK - BST Hyde Park North America 15 July - Quebec, CAN - Festival d’été de Qc 6 August - Chicago, US - Lollapalooza 12 August - San Francisco, US - Outside Lands Festival 1 October - Columbia, US - All Things Go Festival
  9. I don’t think it’s the editing that’s taking long, especially with Rick. I remember fiily shoot and release was pretty close.
  10. Her little burst of rage on “I couldn’t handle it, I was in Monaco, I couldn’t hear what they said on telephone”… I dare to say the most powerful moment on fingertips. They way she quickly goes back to the softer tone…
  11. Honeymoon (possible my fav Lana song after Brooklyn baby) White Dress The Grants (when you leave all you take is your memories is a perspective I’ve never thought about and it weirdly hits me hard) Ride Cruel World Norman Text Book Born to Die Love
  12. I think those are exposure times? First two shot in 9/2014 and the last one 6/2015. I don’t know how that works on film but on my digital camera exposure times generally look like 1/50 1/200 etc so I’m not sure if they are even exposure but Neil also wrote ISO on top so it makes sense that he’d also write exposure.
  13. Just my two cents but I think the “open me up, tell me you like it, fuck me to death, love me until I love myself” line also has a meaning about her relationship with media and fans. Open me up = I can’t help but feel somewhat like my body marred my soul (Lana talked about thinking the reason why she got so criticized was her face and the way she looked, to me she’s saying see through my body and into my soul) Tell me you like it = I have good intentions (even if I’m one of the last ones) Fuck me to death = They built me up three hundred tall just to tear me down Love me until I love myself = ( Lana seems to be more comfortable with herself these last years and at the same she got one of her biggest backlashes so to me she’s addressing that) Meh maybe it doesn’t make sense but this is the way I interpreted the song on the first listen
  14. I actually think this is one of her best tracklistings. It kinda gets heavy in the middle but you slowly get to light track by track and I love the last three track run. I’m glad she kept the similar paced songs right next to each other, it works better that way to me. I always kinda found the doin time-love song-cinnamon run annoying just because of this reason.
  15. I do agree that OB doesn’t really have a new sound and is pretty much on the same road of the last 3 albums but you also can’t deny that this album masters the sound of that road and is pretty impressive. Even from the start you immediately can tell that this album has much more thoughts and ideas behind it and much more well put together than say BB, COCC. Whether it’s the melodies, the strings, how her voice conveys a story this album is definitely one of her strongest. I mean if you don’t appreciate anything you still kinda have to admit that writing A&W, kintsugi, fingertips, sweet takes courage and to release those lyrics to the world?! To me it’s much more impressive than hm and even uv because you can tell that this is as clear and deep as Lana’s mind gets.
  16. If she does a tour (not festivals) I hope she brings out orchestra and backing singers. This album begs to be singed like that.
  17. I just checked and endless summer vacation did 120k with 55k pure and 80million streams. Now I’m not sure but if Lana has 85k pure already and the streams are shaping to be 60-70m we can get like 130k right?? Also whatever the numbers are, this album is just harder to consume whether it’s the pace or the personal lyrics which I love so it’s impressive no matter the position.
  18. Jack is amazing with melodies, songwriting and I too love his vocals on Margaret. He shouldn’t be allowed near trap beats tho, I had a 16 year old who did better tracks I’m sorry
  19. Also on the streams and numbers too probably. I myself didn’t really listen much in the first two days but I couldn’t get the melodies out of my head and went in a spiral of listening over and over. It’s weirdly a grower album.
  20. This album is easily her best vocally. Yeah she’s not doing anything crazy but her voice is so soothing and almost an instrument in the songs. The way she delivers emotions, going up and down like it’s nothing etc just pure magic. I thought some songs should’ve just been poems but the more I listen the more I understand how significant her voice is to understand and feel the record. This album definitely will be the record we look at 10 years from now on, not necessarily to listen and enjoy but to document Lana’s talent as a songwriter and a singer.
  21. This album didn’t click with me immediately unlike other albums and seeing a lot of people also thinking this way is validating. It’s definitely a grower.
  22. Enough time has passed so I hate the vb trap outro Taco Truck melody is good enough why didn’t they just write a second verse? It kinda kills my whole mood hearing the same aahhh I heard for the last for years and seemingly with no connection to the song? Kinda wished for an amazing ending to an amazing album just like it had an amazing opening.
  23. This album is the first Lana album to make me cry listening on the first listen. The Grants weirdly hits me as soon as the first verse begins and the whole heaven/family theme makes me uncomfortable and questioning of my life. Then the title track hits better after the opening with the don’t forget me lines. Afterwards the “creepy trio” of the album is my favorite part and is a whole mood on their own. Kintsugi and fingertips didn’t hit at first but listening and reading the lyrics they are most certainly the saddest Lana songs ever. That’s how the light gets in is a whole new perspective I’ve never realized until she said that so again that makes me question my life. The “fun” part doesn’t really do it for me yet except let the light in (mostly because of jacks production but that’s another story) so hoping they click as well.
