Wow, the way you all talk about Come To My Party, ahaha. Yeah it's a fun song - but change the production and it's just a sucker outtake. You all said Girls Night Out needed a release and how iconic it would be and it's her best song and it would be a smash hit etc. And well we all know how that ended.
  2. I mean yeah, but if they pay good money to go to all her shows, it's natural she's gonna remember them and feel grateful. Also it's no secret Lana struggles with stage fright, so maybe it's a comfort thing for her?

Dunno about you's but I'd quite like the next album to be chill. Like Blame It On Your Love, Boys etc. Dunno if I want all 1999's and Girls Night Out's aha.
  4. Why you hating on some kid you don't know? I'm glad that he's supporting her and yeah she might give them fans more attention but if they go to every event (which will cost a lot of money) then they deserve it - damn I wish I could afford to and had access to her events, I'd be at all of them too.
  5. I misread this as Super Bowl 2019 and I honestly didn't know how to feel...
  6. We survived Lust For Life's lack of cohesiveness, I'm sure 2 country influenced songs won't ruin an already heavily acoustic sounding album.
  7. So I was just watching last night's performance back and after Hey Blue Baby the crowd went wild, and she said her and Jack made them for fun, however fans were screaming saying to release it and she replied saying "do you think it'll work?" - maybe these could appear on the album.
  8. not officially but if you search them the live audio is pretty easy to find.
  9. I think she has to be in that state of mind to make that sort of music, you can't expect her to make depressing ballads and that not have an effect on her wellbeing. Just accept what she's giving, if it's not for you then listen to her older stuff.
  10. She made two country influenced songs for fun. Unlikely to be on the album. How can you call Yosemite trash when we haven't heard it? Ultraviolence is the one if you only want depressed Lana - imagine wanting a woman in her 30's to remain depressed just so you can relate to her music or whatever. Mariners Apartment Complex and Venice Bitch are the most exciting and experimental tracks she's done since 2014 - 2015.
  11. Yeah, with any luck this is another 2014 situation - Norman Fucking Rockwell is finished and she's making it's companion to follow in 2020 (Honeymoon 2.0).
  12. I think Lana doing country or incorporating it would feel much more organic than say Joanne or Rainbow etc. I dunno, something feels different. Like even in her visuals, the Ride video would play beautifully over Hey Blue Baby.
  13. Especially considering she started out doing the May Jailer songs etc. It's not like we haven't heard Lana like this before, yes I wasn't expecting it - but I'd much rather have Hey Blue Baby than say another trap / hip hop track.
  14. I really wish Lana dropped more stand alone or double singles... Imagine if we had've gotten Best American Record and Yosemite last summer. And then Hey Blue Baby and I Must Be So Stupid For Being So Happy this winter. I feel like she has a lot of freedom with her record label so I'd like to see her do more EP's or random drops.
  15. Really hope we get to hear Hey Blue Baby and I Must Be So Stupid For Being So Happy in studio form - either drop them as stand alone singles or add them to a Target exclusive version of Norman Fucking Rockwell. Like this is Jack's decision... This is just Lana being Lana.
  16. Nobody is sure, however there are updates in the other thread. That's probably more reliable than here aha.
  17. Yeah, I think the unreleased album was always just speculation. Those sources I assume were just going off of the rumours, and I do believe that perhaps the new record was going to be released this year, Happiness Is A Butterfly obviously had a music video shot and she was teasing it as her new song. That's why I think the sonic shift (if there was one) may have already occurred... Cos since then the snippets and singles have been very Jack. Sylvia Plath (or at that time Sylvia) was also rumoured to be a single in May, which would make sense if it's going to be the second single now. And I can only assume that either Bartender didn't make the cut as she described it as weird and said it didn't have a home, or it inspired the shift in sound and is a part of the album. Only time will tell. I'm expecting the album in March, with the Gucci campaign in January she's going to be doing a lot of press etc. and like I said that's perfect to promote an upcoming album. Hopefully over the holidays she's finalising the album if it's not already done and poetry book (if we ever get it).
  18. Shout out to Happiness Is A Butterfly from March, we've legit heard the chorus and 2 verses as well as more lyrics being teased on Twitter. Yet no release ahaha.
  19. I think it was very clear after Lust For Life that new music was imminent - she teased the idea of releasing Best American Record and Yosemite in the summer after the album release. And very early on this year she confirmed that she'd written new songs. One of them being Happiness Is A Butterfly, which I assume at one point was going to be a single. Like the summer folk singles, the Unreleased album didn't materialise and I wouldn't blame Jack. That was very much Lana being Lana. However, she did state it was just an idea and didn't necessarily confirm a date or time to expect it - she just suggested the idea. Fans assumed it was coming within the year. I think Norman Fucking Rockwell will be a sonic departure and a step in the right direction, Lust For Life was far from perfect but it's obvious that it was an important part of her career - even just for the commercial appeal to the general public. Like I've said, at this point it's safe to assume that the album is complete and most likely being mastered. Obviously some songs were finished and mastered in September when she released the singles. Yeah, she might be in the studio, but this is Lana, like you've said, within weeks of Ultraviolence being released she was already talking about Honeymoon and during the Lust For Life promo she confirmed that the title track was written when she released Honeymoon. She's forever working on music. Also I wouldn't get your hopes up for Norman Fucking Rockwell demos. We're only just getting Ultraviolence demos ahaha. There's two more albums worth in between.
  20. So are we anticipating new music? I was imagining maybe Love (for the theme of the event), Video Games (cos it's a classic) and then maybe Venice Bitch or How To Disappear.
  21. I mean Ultraviolence wasn't necessarily scrapped, we know this cos of the alternate versions of West Coast, Black Beauty, Money Power Glory etc. A few tracks from the sessions leaked and then she met Dan to record some more songs, Cruel World and Pretty When You Cry, last minute - and she realised his production was more fitting and therefore they re-recorded the original album and added a couple of songs and in that instance it seems to have been for the better. There was the danger that Ultraviolence originally sounded too much like Paradise and that sonic shift with Dan was perfect for her. Born To Die was always going to be a mixed bag, mainly because she had so much material to chose from at that time - I don't think the title change necessarily means the whole project was changed. Even scrapped songs like You Can Be The Boss don't stray too far from the sonic palette of Born To Die. With Honeymoon, Music To Watch Boys To always seemed like an early concept and was one of the first tracks she recorded for the album. If I remember correctly she also stated that she had an idea for a record called Music To Watch Boys To, not specifying whether the term record meant album or singular song. I agree, that Lust For Life was the most drastic change and seemed to be forever evolving and I think that was due to her trying to force positivity into a project. Sadly in this case, I think Lust For Life changed for the worse (or at least I assume - we haven't actually heard much from the earlier drafts of the album). Obviously we know songs like 13 Beaches and Best American Record are from the original sessions but other than that other confirmed tracks seem to just be demos of the final songs. I just think that people are being a bit hyperbolic, who's to say if she has changed the sound that it isn't going to be even better (like Ultraviolence) and how do we know the shift in sound didn't already occur pre-Mariners Apartment Complex release.
  22. I mean she said from the beginning that it would be early 2019. March 29th seems realistic enough, January is the launch of the Gucci campaign so I imagine there'll be a lot of press etc. A great opportunity to promote an upcoming album - this is when I suspect we'll get the next single and she'll start teasing song titles etc. I feel like Lana doesn't always have an awareness of time or how long things may take... Meaning the information we get is always a bit unclear or scattered. But March was the rumoured date a few months back and now MTV seem pretty confident. Lust For Life was intended for May 26th and all the promotional stuff she did confirmed that date (likely given by her label) - it was Lana's personal choice to delay the album. So I'd expect March for Norman Fucking Rockwell unless she states otherwise.
  23. Damn, you're right Ultraviolence era was her peak in terms of fashion... I wasn't fond of the party dresses and beehive but I think she had much more identity and now she just looks like anybody so to speak aha. But you're right 2014 was an amazing time, looks wise. She mastered the casual but Hollywood look!
  24. I think she said that How To Disappear was the last song, she and Jack had done, in an interview - however she didn't give detail as to whether she meant the last song recorded for the album or the most recent song they'd created. If the March release date is true it's likely that the album is in the final stages of mastering, hence why she's so quiet on social media.
