    i feel like lana would only repost the gucci campaign maybe and then archive it and delete her account

    She won’t start acting though. If she did anything, she’d just write it. She’s said it herself, she’s a bad actress and maybe that would explain why we haven’t seen real mv this era? Idk. But writing only takes a year or so for an entire movie or play or something.

    And tbh I always kind of thought she might already have a LB account. Just to snoop because we all know she likes her privacy lol

     

    oh definitely not i meant more of maybe she would write music for movies like soundtracks, symphonies maybe

    i didn't even think of writing a screenplay but i'd be interested to see concepts

    if lana wants to take a break she can focus on a lot more than just a new album concept because eventually she's gonna start sounding like everything is the same thing

     

    she can:

    a. do more poetry

    b. actually try to release an album of her fave unreleased songs

    c. fucking relax for a sec

    d. she wants to work in movies so maybe she'll transition

    e. start a lanaboards account

     

    there's a lot of possibilities here ladies

    She's definitely been filming music videos, but idk about photoshoots; neither will be "high quality," though.

     

    I'd really like that image to make the booklet, maybe in the credits? I really think that the visuals will make sense once we hear more of the album, I like the stripped back approach.

     

    About the visuals: we also have to keep in mind that Lana reached to a lot of directors back in 2017 to work with her on the Cherry music video and all of them rejected the project. The experience probably got her feeling discouraged and that's why she's mostly working with Chuck and no one else (we know damn well Chuck would never say no to any of her ideas) so there's that  :crossed:

     

    okay y'all so i'm thinking it's possible this era could have a homemade feel to it meaning she might be making more for herself more than any of the other albums. for example, the songs seem (to me) to be more vulnerable and forward with the content/with how she might be feeling, the visuals are laid back and more like home movies/mementos for herself than ever before, so i'm thinking we might get a personal album through and through (@@bored i feel like you kind of get what i mean here)

     

    with that said, y'all really need to understand how the industry, at least the visual industry works. with music videos, usually a director is reached out to for a specific reason: either they are notable and the artist wants them to create a concept, or the artist wants someone to help them create their own concept. now i don't know what concept lana had for the cherry video that directors declined working with her, but it's also possible that she was just looking at the wrong people. music videos are a mess to shoot and most of the time are not fun (i've worked on several). there's a lot more that goes into this than "she's being lazy", "guess she doesn't have the budget", like stfu you guys don't even know what you're talking about.

     

    also, if chuck is serving visuals for lana let's not act like chuck is holding a gun to her head. lana made the decision and why shouldn't she work with her sister? as a filmmaker, i'd kill to have the connections lana does and the built in team like her sister because it allows for maximum comfort/confidence in what you want to make. and it's EASIER, like they can just go to some location and fucking shoot a concept but everyone here will focus on the "low quality" like polaroids had high quality in the first place are you all dumb? chuck literally works on film most of the time and if lana wants that then why is all the blame on chuck???

    All I said was it could’ve been handled differently, like simply saying “I changed the name from Sylvia to HIADT and it’s coming out on the 9th. It’s a very personal song which I wrote back in __________. Also, sorry for the future shows I’m canceling which are ________. Hope you all understand. xx” and that’s it. And not delete the post after. Literally not that difficult. Like you said, it isn’t that deep. “is she racist or ignorant, pick your player”..... didn’t I say I wasn’t saying she was racist. lmao

    like you're unhappy she used the phrase, unhappy she didn't think to bring it up before the release/immediately after and you're unhappy with her small explanation which is exactly what you said to do in the first post so like what do you actually want

    A requirement? lol People rn, me included, just think it could’ve been handled in a better way. Like even before she released it, it was messy. And personally, I get why people had a problem with that lyric. It’s a long tiring explanation that I don’t want to get into, bc it’ll get twisted on here. And I think most of the people saying she’s racist were on Twitter. Not here. We get she was referring to depression, people were just saying she could’ve worded it better.

     

    the requirement bit referred to her making a song about poc specifically, like it's not necessary for her to do that

    yeah i get it too but basic facts should be enough to know she didnt mean it in a harmful way like a) has she ever been racist before? not to my knowledge b) this song is older than any of the two social media 'fights' she had last year both of which are the only ones people are comparing the lyric to and c) it's color theory, she uses it a lot

    there's like 34 pages in the nfr thread of people saying she said something racist, just cause we pussyfoot on here and twitter doesn't doesn't mean we aren't all saying the same shit

    she's writing a song so it has to sound poetic, and again if you mean the explanation should be worded better what do you want? a long statement of her basically saying how annoying it is to be misinterpreted in a dark way but how would she say that without sounding annoyed? jfc she explained herself and the lyric it's not that deep

    She explained herself, but not well enough imo. I'm not impyling she's saying anything racist with her explanation, just that she could have made some adjustments to it.

     

    fair, but i guess for someone her status and because she probably didnt think twice about the line because she knew what it was about, she was probably frustrated with her response and wanted to just state what she felt

    Also, really? It's not central, but it's not like her catalog is absent of lyrics suggestive of race or ethnicity. And you could write a whole dissertation or longform thinkpiece on race in her music video catalog. (Has anyone? I'd be fascinated to read one.)

     

    This comes uncomfortably close to sounding like "I don't know enough POC to have any songs about them."

     

    Again, that's the problem.

     

    Also, LOL at trying to have it both ways, decreeing Kanye West's MAGA-hat-wearing ways "a loss for the culture" (I don't disagree) while simultaneously trying to distance herself from "the culture" and sidestep cultural critiques when it suits her.

     

    Speaking of her tweets about Kanye, I'm reminded she specifically mentioned his "narcissism". Lana, whether it's about Kanye or Azealia or not, OF COURSE people are going to think a line like "black narcissist" might be a reference to them after you publicly feuded with them using similar language. Even if wrong, it's a reasonable inference. Poor form to chastise your fans and others for making it. C'mon, Lana, if Azealia dropped a track using a label she'd called you on Twitter and even threw "white" in front of it you know you'd think it was about you.

     

     

    Lana, use a publicist for any statements on sensitive subjects.

    All your criticisms, I completely agree with. I’ll also add and this is toward the people who say fans are “reaching”: it’s okay to criticize an artist you love, and still enjoy their music. We’re not saying she’s racist. I think HIADT is a fantastic song, but I also agree that the wording could’ve been better and her ignorance is a bit telling in her response. I’m still annoyed by the events yesterday because of how she handled the release and her response to it when her lack of information didn’t help at all and contributed to the controversy. All it takes is 5 seconds to make a post to announce a song is coming up, that’s it. It takes little to explain that’s its personal and has nothing to do with any drama you had with anyone recently. That’s all.

     

    Exactly! People in here are acting like were saying she's a racist, when were actually saying her explanation could have been worded better, that's all.

     

    because before she explained y'all were alluding to her possibly saying something racist
