yeah i know but you'd be surprised how many people (especially on reddit) think charli is her best work... and fantano too SO many songs sound out of place. Official, WM, SC make no sense with the rest. 1999? BYOL? that era is a mess. im just glad we got WM (although in retrospect... not that glad)

i think charli is a really bad album, extremely not cohesive and with a lot of rejects/songs that make no sense it blows my mind how people think it's her magnum opus or one of her best works its genuinely bad aside from a few songs

no hate but im so tired of every bad choice from this era being justified because "it's her sellout era" self titled wasn't her sellout era but she damn well played boom clap, 1999 and i love it

1999 is one of her worst songs i hate that she's playing that instead of some TR/N1A etc

N1A and Pop 2 gave her no hits but they did turn Charli into a critical darling and basically paved the way for Charli, HIFN and Crash, cause it showed her label that even though Charli couldn't get a hit she could still get critical recognition which is just as important as charts (if not more IMO). Releasing XCX World would've probably been a bad move THEN, but releasing it now as a mixtape just to make some money off of it or give it to us would be cute especially since SOPHIE worked on it so maybe it would be nice to pay homage to her that way IDK.

it obviously would've flopped but it's a very solid pop album and it's got a lot of bops (Taxi, Bounce, Waterfall, etc.)
