I always forget that I have an account here, and that y'all actually like artists outside of the one that the forum is dedicated to    I've been trying to rave to people for days now about this album with no avail.

The Target edition of HBHBHB is beautiful, but there had to be a better format for that booklet. I feel like it's a bit heavy to be held together by just two staples...

Ok, I just....Ok,...lemme try one more time. Of course it is not important to you in terms of your own pleasure. When the music sucks, it sucks. Promo doesn't make it better. Nobody is denying it.
However, when the music is great, you would want to hear more music from this artist in the future that is on the same level, right? Therefor this music needs exposure, so that further releases don't fall short, because it needs to sell well.
Besides, you would certainly enjoy this artist performing these songs live, because you love the music and you get excited seeing it performed, right? There is just a positive feeling seeing your fave on the screen singing. Or playerd on the radio when you drive to your workplace? You'd also love to see great visuals that the song deserves because it's sad when the visuals of a great song suck, right? Because it doesn't do it justice. And guess what, great visuals need money. It also isn't a bad thing to see other people reacting in a positive way towards it, because we are human after all. We love being part of something that gets recieved well and to say to ourselves: ha, ma girl. i was rooting for her from the start.

We shall all root for Lana and hope to see as much as possible from her, cause she is our favourite artist.

Because if we don't, I haven't seen a stranger fanbase than this one. Not wanting to see their fave often, performing, being liked and do commercially well as a reward for the hard work they put into the work.

Because "She is an icon! Her art is so above everyone else that she doesn't need to promote it."

Or, "We don't want her to become mainstream because people who listen to Top40 shit will listen to her and devalue my own listening experience"

Or, "We don't want her to literally whore herself out by going on television. I mean, only manufactured shit do televised performances, right?"

Or, "She said she releases music for herself and doesn't want other people to listen to it! She doesn't want fame! Fame is for disgusting mainstream pop artists like Beyonce and Rihanna!"

I don't think so. I am just realistic to admit that Lana is not able to release the material without help from others It's not a shame though. Almost nobody can, but to keep your material up to a quality standard and continue to have that standard, you need to work hard to get it heard.
The music business is a business after all.

Well, we never agree on these things, like EVER.

Behind promo, people always assume some Gaga or Katy kind of promo. Lana didn't even do that for BTD, but when she tries, it works.

I will never understand these people that simply fail to realise that you can not sustain as a recording artist without catering for the masses. The days where people bought music from an artist no matter what are long, long gone.
And just like it was previously stated: Lana is not a one woman show. She relies on co-writers and producers to make her music shine. Therefor, promo is a nessecary evil.

One of the most exciting things about Lana is that no two albums sound alike. That's pretty rare in popular music these days.

I think with the lack of Life is Beautiful news, especially considering that it isn't featured in the film, it's probably safe to assume that it is a Honeymoon track. It also embodies the escapist theme that is prevalent in the Honeymoon lyrics.

I don't like the idea of using known unreleased tracks for new albums, but I'm beginning to wonder if Serial Killer may have been re-worked for the deluxe edition. The original producer is being pretty coy after answering a few questions about the song:

retrofuturism is like the old imagining the new; like living in the 70s but fantasizing about what life would be like 90 years from then. so i'm currently thinking of the jetsons lmao

i dunno, that noise-thing at the end of west coast is pretty "retrofuturistic" -- i could definitely see her mixing those elements with a more twangy, pastel sort of sound (i.e "sleepwalk" -- i'm assuming she used that as the tour opening for a reason)

    oooooooooo

I remember when West Coast came out, It was mesmerizing, different from BTD or Paradise but so Lana. I really hope that the first single will be at the level of WC which didn't become a hit but only because she didn't promote it and her label was off base with the release. I hope that this time she delivers the whole package (TV shows) we deserve it

The fact that there's probably some truth to this.
