I agree that once I get Masochism and the NTMT remixed/reissued/remastered, I'll be able to put things to rest. It's really been such a long and torturous journey and the music will definitely be the reward. I know masochism will be a great album, I'm not concerned about that. But for sure, after it's out and I see her on tour, I'll be over "following" her. She's not gonna be someone who releases regularly anyways.

I feel like this charli album should either be like a Best Of type concept, really going all out with the Sophie X AG ideas... or something completely left field with a producer no one has even heard of. Something unexpected and something that revives/brings us into a new phase/territory for Charli. Well that's what I want personally. I don't want anything in the same lane as 1999 ft trote that's for sure.

Okay... that's the last time I try to redirect things and be a bit more positive in here lol. I have followed sky since I was 14, pre-ghost/wild at heart etc. I know how frustrating this woman's career has been. But even with all the set backs and false promises... I don't feel jaded, I don't bring her down over it. And I don't think the service of a restaurant is on the same level as an artist, bit of a false equivalence. I think I'm more inclined to defend her because again, I don't think she does this maliciously (usually). Do I think she fucks herself over (maybe even more than outside forces fuck it up?), sure! I think that's absolutely the case a lot of the time. But what can be done? Acting like sheep saying "coke head/in 2896 maybe" etc. is not even funny at this point or worth commenting. And yes this is one scenario where I think feeling betrayed was justified. We will never really know why she did that or why it played out like that (for all we know something music related was coming and then she decided against it or was "blocked" which is something she has mentioned time and time again). Either way it was wrong. (also that within 60 days thing lol) ANYWAYS enough of this boring conversation. I really do think things are coming this time and I don't care if I'm gonna have to eat my words if it doesn't because I'm enjoying being more positive about it again than I was 2016.

She has spoken about experiencing crippling anxiety.... She doesn't owe us music especially if she can't get it to a place where she is happy. Artists are different and she's said in the past that she looks up to musicians such a Fiona Apple, who release on their own terms, and not very often, but when they do it's always worth it. She's not in this for fans or money. You can't hold her to the standards of streaming acts who literally need to release all the time. It's going to be worth the wait. I just think a little empathy from people would be nice to see.

Well I'm going to be optimistic, as I always am. I don't understand why people on the internet treat her as if she is doing all of this maliciously. She has expressed almost every delay that she can't explain why, but it's clear it's a mixture of outside forces (such as the label) + being her own worst enemy (perfectionism/anxiety/health issues)... She obviously has been working on music since 2014, she's had the title that long, Guardian was performed that year... we've heard snippets for many different songs. There has a been a sonic and thematic shift. It's been a process and there is material. It would be nice to get music on a more regular basis but that's just not the type of artist Sky has ever been (or even able to be). Anyways, dragging her or posting the same jokes about date changes/the year the album will come out for billionth type like it's funny at this point just makes you look retarded. Loosen up, we get it's been a long time.

I'm not gonna support a song I don't enjoy with a feature of a person I don't like just so she can score a hit which will only result in more hit chasing. Charli will find her way out of this major label wrestling match when the time comes.

1999 is mediocre, not gonna harp on about how talentless troye is because wbk, but this whole 90s nostalgia has literally beaten the horse to DEATH. Are we not all sick of this by now? it feels so reductive. I just want more songs that showcase emotion and feel like the future.

This is the dumbest situation sjsj, I always just think about in 40 years time when a documentary about her comes out, a whole chunk of her story is really just forum gays leaking everything she owns and her having to pretend like nothing's happening.

Thanks! I feel like the chunks they're separated in make the most sense from a story-telling perspective. You could switch around the orders inside them for a more seamless experience if that's your main issue too.
