  1. Would have been really cool if Lana professionally recorded the US leg of the tour and released a live compilation of all her duets with the people who opened for her. This is just so fucking good!!!!! Probably the most Lana sounding song I have EVER heard because it is not actually inspired by her or trying to sound like something she'd make at all, the artists just have really similar natural inclinations.
  2. https://twitter.com/maq_theus/status/1218679094918942720 If her album is called Gamer she is just a joke She either takes herself way too seriously or not seriously enough Why can she not just fall back into the themes of her music around 2006/7 aka her peak creatively besides The Fame Monster. That whole kind of glam rock/jazz/pop fusion All her best songs and such a similar distinct sound

  4. Mariah Carey, the Isley Brothers, Eurythmics and Steve Miller are among the 2020 inductees into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The Neptunes’ Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, Lana Del Rey collaborator Rick Nowels, and Motown great William “Mickey” Stevenson will also receive the honor during a June 11th ceremony at New York’s Marriott Marquis. Nile Rodgers — who was appointed chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019 — said of the 2020 class in a statement: “The first thing you need to know is it’s about the song, the second thing you need to know is it’s about the song, the third thing you need to know is it’s about the song. I am very proud that we are recognizing some of the culturally most important songwriters of all time and that the 2020 slate of inductees represents diversity and unity across genres, ethnicity and gender, writers who have enriched our lives and in their time literally transformed music and helped make it what it is today.” https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/mariah-carey-steve-miller-neptunes-2020-songwriters-hall-of-fame-938643/ Hopefully Lana will be involved in the June 11 ceremony somehow! I'm expecting an instagram post from her at least...
  5. I honestly think about this every time I listen to a Lana album and it always spins me out to remember that Paradise, Ultraviolence, Honeymoon and Norman Fucking Rockwell! all have covers. It's really not that common for big artists to do that (and she wanted to put an Elvis cover on Born to Die too) Yeah For Free or any other Joni Mitchell song would seem an obvious choice but of other references on the album maybe Helplessly Hoping by Crosby, Stills and Nash because it seems musically similar to what she is leaning towards idk if it's really very on the nose thematically and I don't know their catalog well enough for lesser known songs
  6. I can't stop thinking about how this would be perfect thematically as the final track on the album if Lana were to be consistent with having the final song being a cover that summarises her feelings / the theme of the album. 1. It would flow great after Get Free 2. The references to vibrations across the nation and the movement of a generation fit the whole "global" feel she spoke about a lot 3. The flowers in your hair relates back to the album cover... 4. The summer of love theme in general tying back to Love and the whole aesthetic and vibe she was going for with California in the 60s
  7. So fucking pretty and natural the longer she's with Sean the less time she has to go to some aesthetician with a warped perception of beauty in LA omg
  8. Thank you for assuming the role of the unofficial spokesperson of the website admin
  9. It's a fact that to change the background and site logo is just a URL. Which is less work than publishing a single thread with multiple embedded images which is done very routinely.
  10. Calm down. To change the background requires one url being copied and pasted. It's hardly unreasonable to chase up something that has been promised for months.
  11. Well we reached 2020 without any update. Cmon it would take such a short amount of time. Less than uploading photos, making a thread and and embedding them in a post which seems to be very frequent activity!
  12. Love is in her top 5 best songs and Tomorrow Never Came is top 15 so that i didn't even place in top 100 is a joke
  13. I'm convinced there's some private joke that I'm not a part of that qualifies the next best american record as a good song? White Mustang isn't even good but it's the superior counterpart of TNBAR and it had no business being on NFR! as it is without a doubt the weakest track. For it to place above Terrence Loves You is a war crime.
  14. This is so good and her voice is so much more delicate than the album version!! The first time I have heard it. There is just so much material it is intimidating
  15. It's so interesting to think about demos circulating before the internet lol. This would have been Lana's fate if she were active in the 70s
  16. There was some discussion on the status updates that I found really interesting, we should bring it here. I only started really listening to Stevie's solo stuff at the beginning of last year and there are so many gems. Listening to the Buckingham nicks coffee plant demos made me listen to Fleetwood Mac's Mirage album all the way through last year (I had only known Gypsy - one of my favourite songs ever from it) because one of the finished demos - That's Alright is on there. And That's Alright became my most played song last year with 254 plays. THIS SONG. Gets stuck in my head constantly. I seriously think it is the most beautiful melody in any song ever. The way the song flows and the lyrics. SHIT!! I believe that I know you, but we've been a long time and now I've got to show you that I never did believe in time changing anybody's mind has to be one of the best lines ever. It's heartbreaking. And since Stevie/FM have never performed it live, the fact this video exists is fucking amazing. I have lost count of the amount of times I have watched this. The way she harmonises with herself is insane. She is such a legend.
  17. Since there has been no follow-up info like she said in the IGTV video I'm not expecting this to come out tomorrow or for like 2 weeks

    Charli XCX

I am the most casual listener and haven't even heard half her recent releases but sometimes I get sucked into listening to some of Charli's songs on repeat and remember how I was a fan long before True Romance was even released... Two that I had on repeat today and two of her best songs:
  19. I would like to know if you all analyse the production of every song you listen to the same way you seem to be doing for this (excellent sounding, almost unanimously critically praised, lauded as album of the year by multiple music publications, GRAMMY Album of the Year nominee ) album or if you just have preconceived notions about Jack Antonoff for whatever reason and come up with these empty arguments to back up the fact you don't like the songs? Like are you all music engineers and production aficionados? Or perhaps you'd prefer Lana record through a sheet of paper or on a two dollar mic so that you can complain about those factors ruining the songs again too? Or work with Keiron Menzies again so you can complain about his contributions to the production of Honeymoon and Lust For Life like you did when those albums were released? Or go back to working with Rick Nowels so you can complain about how she doesn't work with anybody new and always makes music that sounds the same again? Or complain about Emile Haynie "overproducing" Born To Die?
  20. You're on her biggest fansite... the wrong place to find praise or appreciation for her music unfortunately! NFR! is by far her best album I listen to it constantly it's so impressive.
  21. I like to see everything in neon, drink lime green, stay up til dawn...
  22. Yep I think about this often and how it affects her music. With Steven Metens she was folky and surfy, with Arthur Lynn she was the trailer trash all-American kitschy girl, with Mizrahi she was a badass bleach blonde plastic looking pornstar LOL. And her environment influences her so much, like the switch from NY to LA. Side note: do you think I'm crazy for considering aviation? I'm a fan of flying, why not do it for the nation?
  23. I saw this on their story. I think if they know who it was they have a moral obligation to be vocal about it or make it known to people around Lana who can do something about it. I really can't imagine a greater loss (not the time for a pun...) for them both having had such an important creative partnership for so long and having all of the material stolen. It's really a shame because Chuck is really not forthcoming with sharing her work anyway which I've always thought is a bit odd. Either it's because she doesn't want to be pigeonholed as Lana's sister or what I don't know. But it sucks when we have like 2 or 3 photos from an album shoot... She should have shared more of her work.
