    Charli XCX

You must live under a rock & talk to nobody IRL because Grimes new Vanity Fair interview was making waves online.. you don’t even need to like her to recognize she’s relevant

oh gosh if it's not on a deluxe i will share it, maybe I’d love to hear this now that we know it’s not going on the album

Two things weirding me out about all the leak discussions 1: Every Rule couldn’t sound less like Julee Cruise. Much more uptempo, the synths sound like classic AG, very little reverb, more hooky than dreamy & languid. Enough with the comparison 2. Stop saying Yuck is a diss track. Lyrics depict a guy that likes her so much that it weirds her out. That’s not a drag. What part of that is so damning? Charli follows Huck on socials, he doesn’t follow her. She clearly has no problem with him. So why are people hoping she drags him on the deluxe? It’s weird. If she still has positive feelings for him, why tf would she do that? Stop it, let’s celebrate the fact she’s being mature & not doing what you all apparently want her to do
  4. Why are you this emotionally invested? She's not the first creative to bullshit the public & won't be the last. Most singers sell a facade of being more involved than they really are. Britney Spears called Britney Jean her most "personal" album & she didn't even sing on half the damn songs. Who cares? It's music, she's not taking credit for the covid vaccine. She's not selling plant based meals that secretly have meat in them. How writing credits affect you to the point that you're driven to run a smear campaign in defence of Nasty Cherry & Halsey is weird & legitimately laughable. All of these people have blessed lives. If Sky's taking public pot shots for no reason, it's free entertainment. Playing morality police when it comes to pop singers is freakish. This shouldn't impact anybody so deeply. If she's such a fraud, stop posting about her?
  5. I haven't been on here in ages. Catching up on all the pearl clutching over her not writing her own songs is hilarious. Uh, duh? No shit? She started her career working with Bloodshy & Avant, Greg Kurstin, Nicole Morier, etc. She's always sang other people's songs. She's a singer. That doesn't make her a "fraud". Crap like this is standard practice in the music industry. If you're disappointed, welcome to the real world, wait till you find out what Beyoncé & Rihanna are up to with their credits. This isn't the expose some of you want it to be.

That doesn't mean it's not real. It wasn't ever in consideration to be a Charli song without Tommy Genesis. It was Tommy's solo song and Charli submitted her parts to be on the remix. Makes perfect sense that she'd shout Tommy out.

I just saw this and had to share it here because it affirmed for me how lucky we are to have Charli. https://youtu.be/umEklGWaHJY

Anybody noticing the commonality with people defending her ignorance is that they're not from North America? If you grew up in America, you absolutely understand race relations enough to know white girls don't say that. Camila fucked up & still has penance to do but she's not the 1st non-black PoC to think being a minority 'gives her a pass' (J.Lo still has a career after I'm Real). That's a way murkier issue than this. If a white person said the n word at my high school in 2012, you were getting roasted. There's no excuse. She knew her language was appalling, she did it to be edgy. Ironic she's finally getting the attention she was looking for with those tweets.

She has 6x the follower count. Every professional opportunity Ethan has is because of her. Compare the page count in this thread to Ethan's. The mental gymnastics to act like everybody but you is expecting a 'woman to police the actions of a man' are nuts. Nobody demanded anything, people warned her out of concern for her career taking a hit that she wasn't responsible for. If it were up to you, she'd still have no idea, be linked to a rapist & Twitter would be grabbing the pitchforks. I don't understand what you're bitching about.

In what other situation would a rapist's employer not be notified? The irony is that Slayyyter did the right thing & only wanted to weigh her options which is easy to understand. But some of you are so paranoid/cagey about defending music that you thought it'd be cool if she never acknowledged it and kept him on her payroll. Sorry but that's disgusting. She prioritized doing the right thing over her music. Y'all should try it.

Not assuming you were specifically addressing me but my posts were very literal. I haven't reached out to her, I just know she's very active on social media and thought somebody might have DM'd her and spoken privately. I'm not contacting her. I literally just want to know what's been made public.

I didn't know that! Not trying to start drama or antagonize anybody for working with him, just very puzzled & looking for more answers

Long-time lurker, feel weird posting in forums but I have to ask. Is anybody going to reach out to Slayyyter re the accusations surrounding Robokid?
