Maybe she recorded some old covers that she relates to very personally and re-recorded a few really personal unreleased songs and wrote a few new songs and arranged them all in an order that truly tells her story. Idk.

If “rock candy sweet” is just a lyric, I’m convinced it’ll be a direct reference to Big Rock Candy Mountain. Maybe about how the paradise she imagined and searched for never really existed. It would make sense, especially within a song directed at the critics and how they treated her.

Tbh I wouldn’t mind gospel. Elvis did gospel, Lana loves Elvis.

Seriously though “catholic psychedelic synth folk” seems like it would be amazing and I want that now
-
Maybe Lana’s gonna be freestyling over the sounds of tap-dancing and pipe organs
that would be new -
Is there a chance this is the Nikki Lane duet album? Maybe that’s why BOZ called it a project and he can’t believe she’s doing this because he never expected it to be released? Hmm idk I don’t really think so but did anyone suggest that yet as a possibility?

I really like the theories of the album being like a musical about her own life but that would be too good to be true

Pushback from fans and pushback from critics are generally different too so I wonder which he means. Both somehow?

Idk if it’s just me but the Blue Banisters “cover” Lana posted actually reminds me a little of the cover of Tammy Wynette’s We Sure Can Love Each Other, but more DIY. I wonder if that’s kinda what she was going for.

Tbh I truly don’t mind which direction this album goes in. Any genre, any themes, any aesthetics. Lana always kills it.

While I think it’s unlikely Rock Candy Sweet and Blue Banisters are different albums, it’d honestly be so fitting for them to have the two different edits of the same selfie as their album covers if they were different albums. Idk I think that’d be perfect. Like showing two different sides of herself.

Imagine Lana gave us something with this whole vibe (sonically, aesthetically, everything)
SpoilerAlso how good would Lana look in Judy Garland’s outfit here?

I hex the hair off your head and the taste off your lips (the taste in your ears is already gone obviously)
Just for that I will be manifesting Blue Banisters as Folk in all entirety with all of my powerful might
Hate to go off topic but Mary Hopkin was never in Peter, Paul & Mary. That was Mary Travers. Sorry

I know we don’t even know yet if Zach Dawes is involved with this album at all, but based on when the music video for Blue Banisters was filmed, I’m really hoping the back-up singers appear on this album somewhere because I loved them on Summertime and the tv performance of Let Me Love You Like a Woman. Imagine the warm vintage touch they’d add.

I really really really feel like it would be a missed opportunity if Lana doesn’t include a cover of Big Rock Candy Mountain on this album. I can almost hear Lana singing it in her own way, a little slowed down, deeper in the verses, higher and twinkly in the chorus, maybe a mellotron in the background. The lyrics are even Lana-esque enough that people would probably even think it was a quirky original. Cigarette trees? Lemonade streams? Bluebirds singing? Lana was meant to sing this song.

Rock Candy Sweet as an album title overall gives me such strong Mae West energy. I’d love that too, y’know, like some over the top glamorous sensual vaudeville rock n roll type stuff. Plus that’s the perfect energy for a “revenge” album.

I’m pro- keeping the ads, but I’m very anti- users shaming other users for having technical problems due to the ads.

I’d assume the pressings could go ahead before an album title or cover is fully decided since the sleeves probably don’t take as long to manufacture as the vinyls themselves. But idk honestly. Just assuming here.
