  1. I mean, she’s covering music, not a time period. You don’t have to gatekeep yourself from everything just because it’s from a less progressive time in history. Or else you’ll be denouncing everything from this time too in a few decades. If the art itself isn’t racist, idk what the problem is.
  2. Girl, in the 30s everyone was singing the same songs, regardless of race. Music wasn’t censored and turned into white bread til the 40s but whatever floats ur boat. I’m hoping for some dirty blues.
  3. Especially funny because people are still bitching here about how she “lied” about Pacific Blue, not realizing that she originally only mentioned it hypothetically AND that this project is essentially that project anyway. Same. Give me every decade. Especially 30s.
  4. I did always say LMLYLAW felt like a song that was supposed to be sung live, so I’m really looking forward to this. And if a single of the live version is being released maybe there will be some surprises like added lyrics or a big guitar solo or something that differs from the studio track.
  5. Ivy makes me think of Pattie Boyd so much.... I wonder if she inspired it
  6. I feel like I’m the only person still excited for this album. I’d be thrilled to get Chemtrails sooner, but I’d be devastated if she scrapped this. I’d be fine if she delayed it though and put out Chemtrails first. I just want this to still happen. Ever since Lana covered Blue Velvet, I’ve been hoping for a standards album from her someday and it’s finally almost happening. So close but so far away....
  7. Maybe the emojis means the song she’s performing is gonna be hot n steamy and she’s performing like a sultry jazz standard or somethin. That would be a serve, but I want that too much for it to actually happen.
  8. Ok so there have been theories about these albums being a trilogy, and I’ve seen other people point out the biggest difference between Folklore and Evermore is the maturity level of the stories, and together those theories made me come up with one of my own. What if the albums are gonna be a trilogy and they represent the triple goddess? Folklore would be the maiden, Evermore would be the matron, and the next one would be the crone. The witchy aesthetics and lyrics of these two albums especially make me think this was intentional. I guess I’ll have to wait for the potential third album in the trilogy to know for sure.
  9. I’ve never been much of a merch person but if Santa brought me one of those LDR zippos, I wouldn’t turn it away. But since Santa’s magic, I’d rather something really really rare though like her old diary or something lol.
  10. I hope if we do get a new song soon, she doesn’t perform it on Fallon first because every time we hear a new song live first, everyone hates the studio version
  11. I feel like with these past two albums, Taylor’s really carved out her own corner and found herself. I hope the rumours about the albums being a trilogy are true. In general though, I’m glad she’s at the point where she doesn’t feel the need to change her sound and aesthetic with every album (when did that even become a requirement for artists? Lol). She’s truly been flourishing as an artist this year more than ever before.
  12. Old Money sounds more like a Christmas song than How to Disappear does
  13. If Big Machine hadn’t always made Taylor wait 2 years between releases imagine how many albums we’d have by now..... Taylor is a powerhouse.
  14. My husband said this song sounds like it belongs at the end of a Batman movie lol
  15. I really hope she performs Summertime or possibly another cover from the covers album. While I’d love to hear Let Me Love You Like a Woman live (it really does feel made to be performed live), it would just make everyone more impatient for Chemtrails. But knowing Lana, she’ll probably perform a new song off Chemtrails just because it’s one she’s really feeling at the moment, then never mention it again til Chemtrails is out. Hopefully though if it’s something she hasn’t released yet, it’s another cover, so everyone gets more hyped for the covers album since it’s coming first.
  16. I got my copy on Sunday. It was the hide & seek cover. It was really pretty and the records looked amazing under the light. But one of the inner sleeves was ripped which is always annoying with new albums.
  17. I know I’m not usually one to be impatient but I’m seriously dying to get the album cover and tracklist and maybe even a preorder even if everything ships in over a year. Maybe not so much impatient as overly excited lol. Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for a Lana album and idek why this one specifically has me so hyped. I’m just so ready for this.
  18. I’d personally call the song a re-recording (just like with Yayo), unless it was of an unreleased song, then I’d call it the official version. But in the context of a covers album, it’s just kinda easiest to refer to it as a cover lol.
  19. I’d love this! Like how Cat Power covered one of her own songs on each of her cover albums. It’s almost like a way of inserting herself into music history.
  20. I’d imagine those different voices probably damaged her vocal chords causing her to require vocal training to learn to sing in a more sustainable style. She probably didn’t even realize the long term damage singing like that would cause until she had to perform like that for a couple hours almost every night. Plus she was a smoker, which probably accelerated the damage. It’s lucky she started training her voice before it was too late.
  21. I’m still really excited for Chemtrails Over the Country Club, but I’m way more excited for both the standards album and Behind the Iron Gates. I kind of even hope Iron Gates comes before Chemtrails at this point even though it’s unlikely.
  22. at least you’ll get to experience them all as new songs just like any other Lana album though, so there is an upside
