I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the poetry book. She clearly finished the book and has even promoted it in Vogue Italia, so I don’t think it’s abandoned. It’s probably just taking way longer to publish than she expected. If it comes out this year, it’ll probably come out closer to Christmastime.
Or maybe she’s just waiting to release it as part of her merch (maybe also some copies of her paintings because those would be great merch items for this album).
But this seems like one of the more important side projects to her, so I don’t think she’s tossing this out.

It’s interesting. She started work on HM the week UV was released, so possibly. Especially with the tour being only 15 shows, and being a small tour, she might want to do just that and begin work on the next one after this is out and she’s on tour. I think she wrote some of LFL when she was on tour for HM right?
This is exactly how I’ve been thinking! I’m glad I’m not the only one. Also I think she also said the title track of LFL she started the day she handed in the HM record to the label so it seems like yeah she always works in advance.

Ok I know Lana always spends tons of time recording and it doesn’t always mean anything, but with her recording SOTW with Jack, then now calling him in to record another new song just days ago, do you think it possible she and Jack have already started working on her next album? I mean it doesn’t necessarily mean another album soon, but seriously imagine if throughout this whole year while everyone’s been calling her lazy if she’s also been in the studio already working on a follow up. If so, once the reviews come in for NFR, they’ll know what to do different (if they’re even looking for critical acclaim that is). Anyway, I don’t wanna sound too delusional or make people think I’m predicting another album will be out soon, but I do think it’s a possibility that she could already be working on it, even if it takes a long time to create and perfect. She just seems to be very pleased with the work she and Jack have been doing together and I think that’s a good sign.

I can’t believe tomorrow I’ll have both Looking for America and Season of the Witch to add to my non-album Lana playlist. This really is a pleasant surprise and a most special treat. Those should keep me fulfilled for the next few weeks. This month really is a great month to be a Lana fan. And this is some of her best music ever. I wonder what she’ll do next.

I really love Lana’s version of Season of the Witch. I can’t decide though if I like it better than Donovan’s. I found it was very different, especially during the latter half so it’s difficult to compare. Lana’s is softer and has a bit of a yé-yé flair and is exactly the type of song I’ve always wanted from her but at the same time, I love the reverby guitars of the original. But Lana’s soft girlish vocals and those cute backing vocals made the song sound like it was coming from a high priestess with her coven behind her. Now I’m ready for autumn to begin.

In Fuck It I Love You, the only word that sounds mispronounced/slurred to me is “love” and I felt like it was almost a throwback to the title track (“you fucked me so good I almost said I love you”) as if she was still hesitant and testing the waters a bit and she still wasn’t sure if she was ready to say I love you.

I officially love the BAR lyric change
Tbh the part from the clip with the new lyrics has been stuck in my head all day and now I just need to hear the rest. I’m excited because it’s like a whole different mood than the other so we’ll have two different perspectives of the same song.

The more I listen to the song clips, the more the album is giving me Pet Sounds vibes. I can’t believe in like 3 weeks I’ll finally get to listen to it in whole.

I really can’t wait to hear the album in full. Bartender, The Greatest, and California are the ones I’m most excited for now but idk if any will top Venice Bitch. We’ll have to wait and see. This album already seems to be everything I hoped it would be.
Also a little random, but the dress Lana wore today is like the same colour and pattern as the dress I was wearing today and it’s kind of a spooky coincidence haha.
-
Anyway! Question: do the colored vinyls sound different from the black? I like the pink one, but I read some reviews that red Honeymoon didn't sound as good? So now I'm wondering if black is better audio quality of if that was just coincidence.
If the vinyl is high quality, black sounds best. Coloured vinyl can have much more surface noise and sometimes sounds kind of tinny. But if it’s low quality already, the colour makes little to no difference. For example, the black Honeymoon sounds way more dynamic than the red, but the black Born to Die sounds pretty much the same as the blue. Unless you have really good speakers/headphones, it’s not that noticeable though unless you have both colours and compare them back to back.

interesting how season of the witch was also used in the maleficent trailer
It’s been used in almost every franchise with witches, so I wouldn’t hold my breath.....

I’m super excited about the cover because it’s a great song. It’s perfect for her and it seems like her version is gonna give us mad UV vibes. Plus I’d prefer to get a song now that’s not on the album since we’re getting the album at the end of the month anyway. My biggest concern is it’ll be so good that I’ll wish it was on the album.

There’s still 12 left over hereGosh.. Green vinyl is sold out on her website.. Is there anybody who can sell their spare copy? ;_;
-
The lime green isn’t sold out completely yet. It seems to be sold out only in the UK store. If anyone is still looking for it, go to her Canadian webstore. It’s still in stock, I just double checked. Idk about the US store though since it automatically redirects to the Canadian store for me.

btw we didn't discuss what the back cover of the UO edition will be
I can’t wait to see the back cover of the UO version. Tbh the back covers of the UO ones are always better than the standard and they’re the part I love most about the UO versions of UV and HM.

I love how the lime green vinyl on her site has the tiled cover because it makes it slightly different than the standard and you see more of the picture too. And the lime matches the cover so nicely. I also really like that the UO version has an alternate cover, making it like a trio with UV and HM. Plus I love the witchy vibes and paired with the pink vinyl, it gives me Wild Heart vibes. And it’s nice that we’ve never had a green or pink vinyl from Lana before. We’ve had blue, so I’m glad it wasn’t the only colour option. I ordered the standard black and the popart lime and the UO pink. The last time I ordered that many copies was UV so I’m pretty pumped. I’m glad each copy I got has different covers as well as colours though. It makes them more interesting. The standard cover is her best yet and her UO cover is also her best alternate cover yet. Everything about this album seems to be the best yet! I’m just so excited!

Wait everything is working fine for me (UK) and doesn't require me to enter a password. Is it just the US side not being able to access it?
I can access it too, no password, and I’m in Canada. Nothing has changed on it either.

I really love Lust for Life. It’s a beautiful album to experience. I love the Shangri-Las and witchy vibes and they hold the album together as one piece even when the genres fluctuate. I also really liked the mature progression in songwriting and how she branched out into more topics. I especially liked the Stevie Nicks appearance (I’m still convinced I willed that collab into existence). I originally didn’t give the first disc as much attention as the second disc, but I’ve grown to appreciate the whole album. And I remember having a really bad day the day the album came out and it was that one thing keeping me happy that day. I also remember before it came out, there was a Love Snapchat filter and I first noticed it on my birthday that year so that was fun. And man, I still can’t believe Lana and Stevie have a song together, like that’ll make me happy til the day I die. No collab will ever top that in my mind.
And here’s my song ranking:
1. Beautiful People, Beautiful Problems
2. Heroin
3. Tomorrow Never Came
4. Love
5. 13 Beaches
6. Change
7. When the World Was at War We Just Kept Dancing
8. Coachella — Woodstock in My Mind
9. Lust for Life
10. Get Free
11. Cherry
12. God Bless America — And All the Beautiful Women in It
13. Groupie Love
14. White Mustang
15. In My Feelings
16. Summer Bummer

ok can we start album cover assumptions? i feel like she might break the car cycle, i imagine her whole body might be in it? potentially textless
I’m kind of hoping on an album cover without her in it or as a small part of a bigger, scenic picture. But I definitely want a textless cover eventually if not this round.
And tbh I feel like her having the truck on LFL was like a full circle moment and the end of the car covers, but you never know with Lana.
Also up for a painted cover of some sort.

That urban dictionary entry was added after Lana released Venice Bitch so it was probably added by some stan as a dig at Lana for “being lazy” and “not doing her job”
