  1. I listened to most of the songs once last week, if you haven't heard the snippets / ig posts I'd say keep holding out. Otherwise I'd say now is the best time to listen once and only once because you could pretty much forget them (the details anyway) in the space of a week

I did listen to all the snippets and the ig posts, as well as the singles (obv), which is my main reason for thinking about listening to those two. I’m afraid I’ll instantly call them my favourites just because I’d be least familiar with them when I first listen to the album. I’m planning to not listen to the singles anymore after today so if I break and listen to California and Bartender, it’ll be today and probably only once or twice. Maybe it’s worth it.

  2. I haven’t listened to the lq leak (kind of surprised I’ve held out this long). I am debating listening to California and Bartender though since they seem to be the songs we know the least from and it might be more fair to the other songs that we’re more familiar with on the first listen through of the album. But at the same time I’m afraid if I listen to those two in lq, I’ll instantly regret not waiting (it is only a week left to wait after all). Those two seem like they’ll probably be some of the best ones so maybe they deserve the biggest reveals. Idk. I hate having so many options.

  3. made a playlist of all the lyrical references lana makes on the album to other songs https://open.spotify.com/user/22hfr4go2pbabzrocl6tlcihi/playlist/3pwYWzYZioshZ4N8eK2BZF?si=GxIyMBViR9qk9qMfNRAH1A

    You could add:

Dream a Little Dream of Me (referenced in FIILY)

Summertime (sort of referenced in Doin Time technically)

Happiness is a Warm Gun (pretty sure it was referenced in VB)

Last Resort (I feel like it’s constantly referenced throughout the album)

  4. omg i love how into you are it reminds me of me when scouring for records. i think the most cherished piece i have is a Smile 45 rpm (Smile was the band right before Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor were 2/3 of it with Tim Staffell). i found it in MY GRANDPARENTS BASEMENT in a plastic bag while scouring the other vinyl down there my dad said i could have and nearly flipped out. the best part is that i checked the info (like material and matrix numbers etc) and it's a REAL original copy, super rare. i could never part with it ever. it was like god just let me have it lol

i actually wrote about it and sent it to Queen's website and they actually published it i'm soo close to being in Queen i can feel it lolol

That’s amazing! I didn’t know about Smile but it’s always cool finding out about earlier work from people in well-known bands. Those are always fun things to collect when you love a band. I bet it feels special every time you pick it up. That’s how I feel with Buckingham Nicks and it’s not even first edition.

And it’s relatable going through relatives’ collections. I had an old record collection that was half inherited from my dad and half collected from thrift shops but then I went through a minimalist “I don’t need possessions” phase and donated it all (I sometimes think about some of the stuff I’ll never be able to find again and cry) then had to start over from scratch when I came to my senses.

What record(s) of yours do you think you listen to the most? Or at least the most lately if it changes from time to time (this is for anyone)

  5. I doubt radio stations picked up VB simply because there was no radio edit ever made and it was such an explicit song.

The Greatest however, is much more appealing to the GP ear

I hope they pick up The Greatest, but rock stations over here don’t play any modern women at all and play only a select few older ones. Rock stations didn’t pick up MAC either and it was as rock as lots of 60s/70s stuff they play and way more rock than the new stuff they play. But I’m still hoping for them to see the errors of their ways and pick up The Greatest. They likely still won’t though. Rock stations should’ve also picked up West Coast and Shades of Cool a few years ago too but didn’t (at least around here). Also they play the full version of Free Bird here so they should’ve picked up Venice Bitch.

  6. I feel like The Greatest has a better chance of getting radio play

I don’t wanna get my hopes up, but I hope The Greatest becomes a hit, at least on radio. It’s so grand, it deserves to be a hit.

It’s a shame rock radio is pretty sexist (at least around here) because The Greatest would totally work on rock stations better than most of the newer electronic-rap-rock stuff they play these days (but since rock stations didn’t pick up VB, i doubt they’ll pick up this one either)

  7. I think it’s fine. I have two LDR shirts, one is from her store and one is from etsy. I prefer the fanmade one. Most artists won’t even care either (except Taylor Swift). Personally just go with whatever you’re likely gonna wear more. You usually have more/better options on redbubble including colour, so I’d probably go with that in a heartbeat. Lana probably won’t notice or care if she sees it either as long as you have the album in your hand. Who knows if she even remembers all her past merch by heart anyway lol.
