Sorry for TMI, my friends. Well, I felt wrong and sinful for being a lesbian and in denial until I became interested in Feminism and Gay rights. I am ok now but I regret believing in my family's hypocritical traditional values. Teens today have much more support to be themselves. My mother was great tho... she had gay and dyke friends and went thru a lot of the stuff Lana sings about. Lana reminds me of her a bit (her crazy but free ways). She was gone too soon. I swear I am not that weird tho. LOL. Still believe in Ms. Right. I think it is too late coz the love of my life couldn't love me and lives with her girl now.

I was the good catholic girl my nana raised me to be for ages, while my friends were partying and screwing around. They lead happy, balanced lives. Look at me, I'm fucked up and sad and lonely for keeping celibate for so long. Now that I feel free and ok to do what I want with my body, it is too late. I can't find a girl who will be in a relationship with someone so problematic. The majority of the religious beliefs out there mess more with your head than being raised in a brothel, I say. There is no sin in enjoying sex. [i am not a virgin but feel I wasted my teen years trying to be "good"].

I look up to liberated women who have sex with whomever they want. It is ok. I could never do it coz I am so repressed. Sexuality is not a dirty thing, it is beautiful. It comes from God. A woman can screw around and still be a good person, daughter, citizen, whatever. I can't believe this sexism... I only worry about Lana getting emotionally involved with a jerk and getting hurt. I used to sit and watch the sea and write shitty poetry. Now I am trying to write my novel... But my emotional/health problems gave me writer's block. I'll make it someday, my own books (not short story or poem collections as before).

I have been reading about Jimmy Gnecco on here, which I knew little of besides his band Ours (from 3 or 4 songs previous to my LDR appreciation). I came to consider that she mostly sings about him. That song Jimmy Gnecco is obvious. I guess She's Not Me too. There are some other little things I can't remember right... But one line in Is It Wrong, a song which seems to be inspired by Gnecco, makes me think he is the guy. The verse is "It's all for you", which she repeats in some of her songs. Sorry if this has been brought up already. Long thread.
