I know what you mean, though personally, I don't have negative feelings towards Lana and this fandom at all! Everything's so lovely (for now?). Guess I'm lucky.
I'd hate to see this fandom to turn into mess that Emilie Autumn and Tori Amos fandoms are...

Cobain is undoutedly an important influence; she says so. But she has quite a few influences (and she says so). Anyway there is no thread I could find comparing Lana to Kurt, but there is one comparing Lana to Jim Morrison (with a LDR Doors cover in the first post that I was unaware of!).   http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/2119-lana-del-rey-and-jim-morrison/?p=59339   LDR (and Barrie) seem to have a morbid obsession with the tragic loss or wasted potential, which arguably we all should have. The loss of people like Buckley, Hendrix, Joplin, Schubert, Gershwin and many others at too young an age is staggering in terms of the art that might have been.

so when i heard the male vocals i thought of elvis... like she dubbed in his voice? that or johnny cash? which is it? lol i know its probably barrie ... its better then any of the singles released yet.... west coast being second. shades of cool are ok, ultravioence is decent....  the only two songs i kinda dont care so much for are "The lucky ones" and "ultraviolence" but thats out of what? all 3 albums, unreleased material ... b-SIDES, REMIXES... so i am pretty sold in my interests for her..
 
 
 i have been waiting for a week and half for this song.. spending hours upon hours searching online for it.. lol i even made the snippet my text ringtone! lol now i am in heaven.. her music is hypnotic ...like your on drugs. am i the only one that feels like this?

Lana should consider writing more songs with Barrie. BKLB is the ultimate hipster anthem and its the best track from UV so far. Its lyrically also strong.I think its a lovely and sweet track. My fav part is near the end where barrie joins it just..well it makes me speachless. To put it this way this has knocked NA off my number 1 fav LDR track and its been replaced by this masterpiece.

Oh my god, Barrie's voice at the end of the song....that was completely amazing. Lana you really are the coolest.

I love the song. I already knew it would be laid back, but I thought it would be more dancy/party with my rocker hipster friends kind of song, while it's more contemplative and ethereal then what the snippet sounded like. It is also very coherent with the other songs so I'm more hyped than ever for Ultraviolence 

Oh my god the song is just heavenly and it COMPLETELY changed the image I had of Ultraviolence so far!!! Completely. It's so fun and the lyrics are just... Oh Lana, one of these days you're going to send me to a hospital           

I just want to hear the line where she goes "Yeah, my boyfriend’s really cool/ But he’s not as cool as me."  I am so freaking excited to hear this!!!

that was...better than i expected! i thought it was gonna be a dull 'im so delicious brooklyn baby fuck me barrie' song, but it's really good!

Really beautiful, I love the summery feel, and I can't wait to walk around Brooklyn listening to this song feeling super great and awesome and smile like a mad man, it's going to be great.
 
I really love the lyrics too, they're spontaneous but not pretentious or too cinematic, it feels really autobiographical and personal which is super great, compared to the slight disconnect (not a bad thing) in Ultraviolence, where it sounds like she's telling a story, compared to actually feeling like you're in the song with her and how she's singing it. Would love to figure out the rest of the lyrics (I did a really rough version in the lyrics section.)
 
The production is amazing too, the drums are great and fuck, the Dan Auerbach guitars are so god damn sexy, just like him. 
 
Also, Barrie at the end. So great and unexpected and it works so damn well.
