apparently the intro strings are used in the second half of the choruses (about 1:11), I can sort of hear why people think that but I’m not sure if it actually is the same stem changed to fit the melody and bpm, or if it’s just a similar sounding stem.

the bridge part was beautifully shot but I didn't like the makeup/face tape look on her, I don't think it suits her the same way it does on charli xcx for example

the intro reminds me of 'all around the world' by ATC. I don't hate it but I don't love it, it's cute/enjoyable and I suspect it might be a grower. I wish she used her lower register to give a bit more contrast, it feels a bit one note from verse to pre-chorus. I actually prefer the chorus to the verses, I just feel like sometimes she works better with a co-writer to edit lyrics and maybe this could have helped here, but there's nothing egregious that makes me want to make an edit like purge the poison's verses. the concept is cute too! personally I find it relatable.

I think she had a little bit of involvement, like the name feels like something she would come up with and she actually did some press (the nylon interview), but I definitely agree it was 99% the label, and I don't think she had anything to do with TFJ being released globally as she has literally not mentioned it to this day.

so we have just under a month to go until the 10 year anniversary of FROOT, will I’m not hungry anymore be scrapped for the fourth time? will we get any other outtakes? will we finally get to hear froot’s 7 minute demo? what will the cover be? are we going to get any new photos? is she simply going to do a repressing of the regular vinyl or will the boxset be back? will we be disappointed but unsurprised or pleasantly surprised?

the poem 'million tiny knives' is about him and it's sad to read. (I've changed the line breaks and added some commas so it's a bit easier to read) 'My dreams began to die by a million tiny cuts crisscrossing softly over time, noughts ’n crossing through the night, until the day that I decided: Enough.'

sort of, she just made a blogpost saying a random lady in a pool told her 'there's nothing wrong with you' that and it made her realise that feeling like something was wrong with you/out of place was 'universal' and not just her problem, she brings that theme up on enjoy your life and life is strange too. the allegations were made (publicly at least) in 2019, so the song was scrapped long before that, there could have still been behind the scenes drama though as she did rewrite and reregister worth it/if its worth it without jesse. there was an 'insider' on discord that said she didn't like tnwwy's verses so she put the song up to pitch but who knows if that's true, we do know she did write with intent to pitch in 2017 and the verses are the weaker part of the song for sure but I wish she just rewrote them if that was the case. enjoy your life feels like the replacement for tnwwy.

the new music video snippet seems to be in the 'marina just doing random things in a building' category, like primadonna and froot's videos directed by aerin moreno

I do agree with some of the sentiments being shared, but one of the reason marina changed post FROOT was because she was sick. don’t get me wrong there was definitely some kind of ego death with the release of FROOT and achieving what she wanted, but she did a podcast (chronic comeback) and the symptoms she described sounded horrible. I understand why she created songs like orange trees, EYL, true, etc to try and ‘manifest a bit of happiness’ or whatever. (though obviously even with a reason that doesn’t make the songs/album any better and I won’t pretend it does) I think it’s the missing puzzle piece as to why l+f was such a mess, (she postponed in hopes of getting better, then after its release she wasn’t feeling well), and why ADIAML was so rushed, (to get out of her contract so she could recover). we’d speculated those things before but we didn’t actually know she was sick at the time, we thought she’d just lost interest. now she is better and she didn’t lose interest after all we’ll see if the music is any better, I don’t think that it’s going to touch ‘the trilogy’ for me, as the pedestal they sit on is far too high but I think it’s going to be enjoyable because she’s clearly having fun. venus fly trap does have some clunky lyrics but it’s enjoyable to me as I can feel her energy, it’s cute, it’s camp, hoping the same thing for M6.

I mean isn’t that just stan twitter these days? you’re either team ‘yas marina queen slay you can do no wrong’ or team ‘marina is so cringe and embarrassing and has never been good actually’ and you have to try and forcibly change someone else’s mind for invisible stan points or whatever. edit: I don’t have twitter but someone on reddit posted some screenshots and there are actually people wishing she was miserable/asking for electra heart/the family jewels again

I think we should take what she says about the album being 'varied' with a pinch of salt considering she said the two parts of love + fear sounded very sonically different and they did not

honestly I’m not really seeing the point of marinahq at the moment if that account and Marina’s are just going to repost each other all the time. if marina doesn’t want to read the comments on instagram, which I think is fine and it’s good to protect your feelings sometimes tbh, then she should just hand the password over to her management like other artists do. I just feel like the account is going to be abandoned halfway through the era and unterutilised, I think she would have been better off sending the ‘secrets’ (which we haven’t had yet as it’s all been reposted to her stories), to some fan accounts instead idk. though I know some of Marina’s fan accounts get bullied by her own fans, so maybe she was trying to prevent that I want to wait for the full song to pass judgement because I think snippets can really be the best or worst thing about a song. what I will say though is that it is really nice to see her happy and excited in that snippet clip, especially now we know she was suffering with CFS for the last several years. I forget how much an artist’s energy feeds into an enjoyment of a project.
