I wanna try and be sensitive about this and I really appreciate her sharing this with us, however despite now having ‘empathy’ with people that suffer with chronic illnesses she’s literally just throwing the rhetoric that disabled people have been hearing for years right back in their face. ‘Answers always exist. The body wants to heal — and what I’ve learned is you have to work with it, not against it.’ girl your privilege is showing again, it’s really great you can see a ‘functional medicine practitioner’ but millions of people simply don’t have the resources to just stop work and stressing about these types of things and ‘heal themselves.’ (edit: for clarification I don’t mean that she should work if she’s ill, everyone should be able to take paid time off if they’re sick) that all being said I really do hope she feels better soon and I wouldn’t wish chronic illness on anyone, it’s so hard when your body feels like it’s failing and you seemingly can’t find an answer. maybe I’m being a bit over sensitive but something about the post misses the mark for me edit: I forgot to mention her saying she was ‘grateful’ for being ill too, this is some LA shit.

honestly would love this, she mentioned a couple of times about a year or so ago she wanted to rerecord her old demos (specifically dirty sheets, simplify, bad kidz)

part of the reason for her break was family bereavement iirc, she lost her grandmother (the one that sang on fear and loathing) and a great-aunt(?) and her dad got sick too, she was crying on several occasions during the neon nature tour but she was 'stuck' (financially) so she couldn't stop the tour, I think she was a bit traumatised by the whole thing. like she went from froot being her best moment and 'achieving everything she wanted' and proving herself to all this bereavement.

honestly whether she’s being marina lieamandis again or she’s telling the truth, I’m surprised after teasing flowers and nature for 2 years straight and receiving monochromatic album visuals with L+F people are still reading that heavily into her posts

we don't know, I think she might do a 'surprise' drop, maybe not the whole album, but the reveal etc being out of the blue as she hasn't spoken about being in the studio or writing at all & has been off social media mostly. which is probably a good thing and less pressure for her.

I think maybe cause of the L+F 'drama' around the acoustics? for those that don't know/weren't there: she announced an acoustic version of baby which tbh I think a lot of people wanted (including me) as it's very obvious the song was too fast for her (which she admitted it herself & was having nightmares about it lol) then it was released and it was literally just the song with some stems removed/changed. she got a bit uptight/self righteous on twitter that fans were disappointed and said something like 'acoustic just means blah blah', which considering all her previous acoustic versions were live (sounding) acoustics I really don't think it was unreasonable for fans to expect live acoustics. then she was asked if she would do love + fear acoustics and she said yes, made everyone wait like 7 months to basically pull the same thing as the baby acoustic, orange trees is practically the same, superstar wasn't that much difference, no more suckers was pretty much reproduced iirc but it sound really clear to me they just took her vocal sessions from the album and changed the instrumental I really doubt she did any more vocal takes. people were just upset that they weren't live acoustics, especially after the serve of the froot acoustic sessions. (though all of her eras have really great acoustic versions) also the song choices were weird. I think this is why we got 'man's world (stripped)' because if she called it 'man's world (acoustic)' it would be the same drama again

I feel like a lot of people are forgetting it’s for a soundtrack and for a movie that’s going really heavy on marketing (so it needs to be tiktok friendly) like yes I’d be mad if she dropped a sub 2m single for an album but that’s not what this song is for at all.

well she has sort of done both to be fair, she's admitted music is a 'side quest' and that she has music coming. she's just stuck in this catch 22 that if she gives dates everyone hates on her and expects her to miss them even when she doesn't, like welcome to the opera, and if she gives dates and misses them people hate her. it is really fucking annoying waiting though, but tbh I think grimes isn't a person you can really 'stan' and wait on their every update, you just have to ignore her and wait for something to be uploaded to spotify whilst you stan someone else

it's kind of ironic how desperately she wants to 'simp' over AI yet AI can't really reproduce her voice (even though it's literally trained on her own stems by her own team!!) because of how 'unique' her voice is due to her lisp and (lack of) enunciation.

tbh she falls flat cause she tries to be political in songs then doesn’t do anything on social media & in some cases literally does the things she criticises others for. I would rather she do 0 political songs but was a good activist. like you said it’s like she gets all her opinions from tweets and doesn’t look into any actual sources to form her own opinions.

it was also 'forced' because she was getting out of her contract asap, I was hoping that perhaps her new stuff will be better without that restriction but her poetry isn't it. it's like she has a good idea then has to 'ruin' it with a live laugh love-esqe line. I don't think your opinion is that controversial, I think it's what a lot of people are thinking but no one wants to say... I think on the surface ADIAML seems better because the production is better/more consistent, L+F has songs that have good lyrics with bad production and 'bad' lyrics with good production. but that's what having 22 co-writers and 13 producers will do.
