    I'm honestly not that shocked simply because of all the shit that goes through my own mind half of the time. it's sad, but it's reality. all these famous people, we think that they don't have problems,that they're not allowed to when they have what they have (fame, money etc.), and when they do speak about them we fucking blame them, like "how dare you? you were supposed to be perfect."

    Not to mention she straight up sang "National Anthem" in front of a whole nation without ever crediting the real artist. I mean look at the dates:

    Plot Twist: Beyoncé is the greatest Lana/Lizzy/Lizzi/Lizzie/May fan of us all... @@evilentity, consider your days numbered

    Lana Del Rey says her connection with boyfriend Barrie-James O'Neill feels 'telepathic'.

    The 27-year-old Shades of Cool singer has been in a relationship with the Scottish musician since 2011.

    And according to Lana their bond continues to grow stronger.

    'He is definitely a poet. I didn't really know what being a poet meant until I met him. He has changed me in ways that I didn't expect,' she explained to British newspaper The Sun. 'On the one hand I have everything I've dreamed of in terms of a soul connection, it's almost telepathic.'

    Although they have a powerful bond, Lana admits she finds being in a relationship challenging sometimes.

    The star also dismisses speculation she and Barrie-James are getting married.

    'I would be lying if I said it wasn't difficult. He is a much darker character than most people I've ever met,' she shared.
    'We always joke around about how we should have found simpler counterparts. There are rumours we are engaged. We are not but we are together.'

    Lana struggled with alcohol and drug addiction in the past.

    The songstress confesses it's been taking a huge amount of willpower on her part to remain sober recently.

    'I've loosened up a lot which means before, when I was depressed I wanted drink and now I am feeling good I still want to drink,' she laughed.

    'But I think back to when I was in high school and I'd been taking a lot of drugs. We were crushing up truck driver pills, called bumblebees. I was self-medicating and needed to stop. You can't get through your day and work like this unless you are Keith Richards. So I stopped and I had to or none of this would've happened.'

    Lana's third album Ultraviolence is released on Friday June 13.

    I just found another interview published on a german site. It seems like they are quoting an interview Lana did with "The Sun" but as I think this one isn't out yet I though I'd share that german article (+my translation) with you.

    Agreed. Its very easy to read too much into words, unless she's sitting in front of you talking, everything from tone to facial expressions to the way she speaks can change everything. Her words certainly hold weight in this interview for sure.....but its easy to read into things without really understanding what someone can truly mean. She does tend to get a little dramatic at times when she talks about certain things, i've often found its her having a comfort in certain topics and not being afraid of them, so she just gives very straight forward and blunt responses that may come across as bit odd to other people.

    She seems very open emotionally, very connected to what she feels and how things affect her, she talks about it sometimes without a lot of tact, she can put her foot in her mouth if she starts trailing off into another one of her over thought out answers where she starts getting philosophical about the world and her experience of it.

    She may very well be depressed, but she may also just be a generally up front person about every miniscule detail of her thought process, she does seem like a very self indulgent person, you can see it in her music and Barrie sounds the fucking same, no wonder shes into him.

    It's easier to be said than done. She 's bound by contracts, she has tons of fans (she cares about), she loves making music. But the haters are just spoiling her dream. I never understood why is that, it is so easy to avoid her: She's not on radio or on TV, it's not that she's shoved in your face. You have to search for her to listen to her. The whole promotion was restrained, her pictures were so minimalist, she's so pretty and fragile. But NO, there is just unabashed hatred coming towards her. I would recommend to establish a new psychological disorder called "Lana hatred syndrome" because this is truly a mental condition for some

    I'm so tired off this "I saw an article or a picture of Lana on the web and I know her better than anyone else". You know shit about her. We all saw those pictures and it could be that is from one or two conferences only. She never said that she didn't met her father in that period but it could be that were lengthy periods when they didn't communicated because her parents didn't approved her lifestyle and she just ran away.

    I think at her core from way back then, its seems like Lana has always been one to seek out places of peace and refuge. Even if they were temporary. Which is why she seemed to move around a lot. From alcohol to multiple relationships. And like anyone who can relate, usually the cause of this restlessness links itself back to people's home life. & How they grew up. I mean she mentioned the fact that when Video Games started picking up, she hadnt seen or heard from her father in 6 years. Plus when you add up her parents sending her off to boarding school, it starts to make sense. Aside from other personal things. & So when you couple that with the criticism she receives from one of the places shes seeking acceptance the most, i can see why she would feel the way she does. But her love for music and fans is what keeps her doing music. The moment shes able to receive closure and peace from things shes dealt with back then, then i can see her truly being a peace a little more.

    “People say to the mentally ill, ‘You know so many people think the world of you.’ But when they don’t like themselves they don’t notice anything. They don’t care about what people think of them. When you hate yourself, whatever people say it doesn’t make sense. ‘Why do they like me? Why do they care about me?’ Because you don’t care about yourself at all.” - Richey Edwards

    This interview made me really, really sad. But if I'm being honest, it doesn't surprise me all that much. What does surprise me, however, is how open she is being here. And depending on how you look at it, this can be a good or a bad thing. As a fan it's quite... uncomfortable in a way, because here I am admiring her voice, her talent, uniqueness, songwriting abilities meanwhile.... she just doesn't love herself as much as we expect her to. Remember what she said in a recent interview: 'it's just sad because they care and I just don't..' I do believe she's struggling. I genuinely think she is hurting. Just because she has a platform of fame now, some money in her pocket, a "very large family" and a lot of people around her, doesn't mean she isn't struggling. I wish her true happiness. I wish I could be a part of that but it looks like it's too much of a far stretch.

    Also, the comments under that Guardian article really discouraged me. I mean.... really? Some of those people don't know what they're talking about. Hey, we can all have our opinions and it's fine if you think she's this way and that way or her music 'sucks' or whatever - okay, cool. Your problem, not mine, but blatantly disregarding her emotions and invalidating her struggles because she is famous? "poor little rich girl" is what they think. What people need to realize is that mental illness is just that: mental illness. It does not discriminate - when will people understand this? They don't get it, man. They don't get it

    I also believe it was a moment thing. I mean she spoke about wanting kids and now about being dead. Who of us hasn't thought about both those things? Two crucial moments in anyone's life, it's only natural. The only difference is that you don't say that to journalist, you say it to friends. lol But now that she did, oh well.

    Plus she's a Gemini/Cancer cusp, which means she has the influence of both signs (she's mainly Gemini though). Cancers are ridiculously emotional people.

    Yeah it happens to me a lot , I regret it right after i've said shit. Whether it's stupid or depressing or too happy.

    One thing for sure I know , she loves her fans (the genuine ones)

    ~~~Anyway , do we have all of 211 tracks? (sorry omg)
    I hope it was a moment thing. I really dont believe she is sad all the time. She has fans , she has people who cry for her , people who love her.
    Yeah I thought that as well, like she's just saying oh well I wouldn't mind being dead there's nothing I want any more. But okay I'm alive so Imma roll with it, try to have fun in the meantime  But I don't know I do think she has always fantasized about suicide and death, we just don't know how intense or serious the sitaution is.
  21. PrettyBaby liked a post in a topic by MaraDreea in Lana Del Rey: 'I wish I was dead already' (The Guardian Interview)
    people don't understand the length of her mind and take everything too literally. the fact that she said she wants to die does not mean that she contemplates suicide or something along those lines. she has a very philosophical and spiritual view on life, so death can be just as gratifying as life in that way. it still is sad to think that such a troubled soul can bring us such happiness.
    But maybe her saying something this personal is a sign that she truly doesn't care that much about what people say about her anymore. I mean, she's opened up quite a lot about a bunch of stuff lately and I don't believe she would've done that without being fully aware that not all people will understand her/empathize with her and they will still judge her mindlessly, much like some of us on here do, unfortunately.
    All the love from her fans will never fill the emptiness she feels inside or increase the love she doesn't have for herself. That's not real love, it's not shared, she's not connected deeply with people and it's understandable. The applause is just a thrill. It's not reality. And she can't face reality. She can't find a place where she belongs, she can't find people to rely to and she have a hard time keeping meaningful relationships. She still feels alone when there are so many people who would like to love her and care for her. I might be wrong, but that's how I see things. It's sad.
