Okay Ben but she had teased that shit since 2018, so it was kinda like NFR in that we were (too) familiar with the content before she actually released it. So even though it's newly released, it doesn't really feel new. I personally prefer having nothing until it's actually released, except perhaps one lead single. Whatever, though - if she starts snippeting it up on IG I will refrain from listening. I haven't listened to the TJF snippet since the day she dropped it. Can someone please play it and see if it Shazams yet, though? Thanks

How what works? I'm genuinely curious to know what it is that you think you understand better than everyone else. I'm pretty sure everyone on the site understands that the album is coming out on a specific date, believed to be September 5 at this point, because that's what Lana said.

She seems to follow this pattern where she acknowledges stuff that's happened, and then announces something/posts something about her work shortly after. After the whole Question for the Culture/BLM debacle, I think she's paranoid about appearing insensitive about stuff. Most recently, she acknowledged Beirut and then posted the TJF snippet. So I think she probably intended to post something COCC-related today, and will instead do so tomorrow, out of respect for this boy and his family.

This. NFR's production has been discussed to death, but THIS is the crux of the problem I have with that album. I'm hopeful about COCC. We only have a short, low quality snippet, but based on the title alone, Tulsa Jesus Freak sounds like a serve. Even if it's unironically about him, at least there appears to be some self-awareness. Finally.

Exactly, people are not mind readers. Posting a pic of a kid who k-worded himself and then a screenshot of an article which is literally entitled, "businesses are dying". Ummmm She's like some weird alien who struggles to communicate outside of music.

TW (this whole last page or so is suicide talk, but even so ...) I don't wanna make it about me or any shit, and of course I don't know Azealia personally, but I know someone who said really similar things and then actually did the deed. Like it was all planned, and none of us actually believed he would do it, and then he did it. I just really hope she gets the help she needs. I also hope she isn't lying about the friend doing a welfare check either, because sometimes people say that so that others go "oh, she/he/they must be okay, then." In my friend's case, everyone thought someone else was looking out for him, when in reality he was playing everyone off each other so he could do it and none of us would find out until it was too late.

I think if you look at Violet as something she wanted to put out just for herself - and she did say that that was why she was putting it out - then it's fine. If you delve deeper and really analyse the content, you're going to be disappointed. Her poetry is okay, but it isn't amazing, and never has been. I feel like she needs to stop making it such a personal pity party. Maybe I'll like the book better? Sportcruiser is not a poem, it's an entry from Lana's unicorn not-high-or-crying-it's-just-a-filter journal. My favourite poem of hers is the one from the next book - the Sylvia Plath one (I forget the name). That was the first poem I read where I went, "okay, this is actually pretty good." Presumably, it was written after the poems on Violet, so there's some development there. When she was on that live stream, she said she didn't know how to go about putting it out, and everyone told her to do an audio book, so I appreciate that she seems to have listened to fans and did that because we requested it. Originally, she was going to just hand bind this shit and sell it in local bookstores, which I think would've been a disaster. It didn't end up being a dollar, though

I really hate bothering Barrie with this, so I was really apologetic about it, but I told him. He always reads my stuff if not replies, so Hopefully, though, someone else who cares about her sees it and checks on her. I just don't like the notion of assuming that someone else is gonna check on her, I'd rather try him in case he can help ... It's fine to assume that celebrities have plenty of people around them who care, but sometimes it's the exact opposite

I know this sounds bad but I get the impression that most of the people who are in group chats with Lana wouldn't dare ask for fear of offending her. Holding on to their connection to Lana > Azealia's well being. There have been other instances where Lana's safety (not suicide-related) has been at stake and people didn't want to upset the apple cart by telling her. I have an open DM chat with Barrie, I'm gonna try him in case he knows someone who knows her or something ... feels a bit over the top but I'd rather seem that way than not try.
