Favorite/Least Favorite Track From Ultraviolence?
Macintosh Manhattan replied to Lum's topic in Lana Thoughts
MPG CW PWYC are all equal first place.Especially when lana hits the red dress verse in cruel world it slays me more and more each time i listen too it its a masterpiece imo. Least fav tracks are black beauty Bc the orginal was sooo much better than the new one tbh i felt they added to much fuel to the fire.THEY SHOULD'VE KEPT IT PLAIN AND SIMPLE it was beautiful that way. The other track i'm not keen on is Other Women. Something sounds a little odd idk maybe LDR timing was off.Shame though hopefully she preforms it better live.. -
Due to the snippets my opinon and expectations were very low but since FK leaked fully its the one track I keep repeating. I love the line turning diamonds into snow. Only lana can make drug abuse seem pretty. Love the lizzy vibes i'm getting from FK too.

That's what I heard to.

Ultraviolence - Pre-Release Thread
Macintosh Manhattan replied to lflflflflflflflflflf's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
MPG OM CW sound amazing the others im not sure but thats bc i think i need longer snippets to dig them idk im greedy lol. But i've got this amazing feel that UV will be on repeat all summer long. -
1.) Matt Bellamy from Muse. I'd love to see him collab with lana as a producer or he could add some amazing guitar work for a album of hers. But I would love it if he and her co wrote a song together.tbh i wouldnt want them to sing together.Matts voice is VERY POWERFUL and he'll over shadow lana easily. 2.Amy whinehouse. If she was alive still I could've bet my entire music collection that they would've collab at some point in there careers. There so simillar in so many ways the music they made would have been beautiful. It would've been the ultimate sadcore anthem... 3.) Kanye West. I'd so dig it if she made a song a la off to the races style it'll be so fucking badass. O-O imagine what the music vid would be like though....

Promo Single: "BROOKLYN BABY" (June 8)
Macintosh Manhattan replied to clayford13's topic in New Releases
Lana should consider writing more songs with Barrie. BKLB is the ultimate hipster anthem and its the best track from UV so far. Its lyrically also strong.I think its a lovely and sweet track. My fav part is near the end where barrie joins it just..well it makes me speachless. To put it this way this has knocked NA off my number 1 fav LDR track and its been replaced by this masterpiece. -

WC, SOC, UV, BB - your favorite single? [updated]
Macintosh Manhattan replied to Sebastian's topic in Lana Thoughts
1.SOC this is bc you can really here lana's vocal capabilties/song writing ablity evolving.SOC is an epic cinamatic ballad and dare i say it one of the best tracks she's ever recorded imo. 2.WC I love this track now but it took about two listens to get into massively. The tempo change was at first jarring then I began to enjoy it.My fav part in the song is the chours its so very beautiful and yet so unexpected especailly when you listened to it for the first time. 3.UV I personally like both the live and studio version of uv but what bugs me is that so far its the weakest lyrically so far. I love the chours and the bridge there beyond heavenly but the verses especially at the start are erm okay. The strings and band are also worth a mention bc there brilliant and defintley make UV a bit more special tbh. -
Lana's alleged sect/cult past
Macintosh Manhattan replied to PinUpCartoonBaby's topic in Lana Thoughts
Since we know so little about Lana's past it's hard to decipher whether or not this is an white lie/exaggerated truth or the truth.I mean we all know Lana is a little bit quirky but THAT quirky...I doubt it. As someone stated here before she probably made it up for a laugh because everyone is going to wonder what the " And your might cult leader" lyric is about. This is also one of my fav things about her tbh.I love her oddness. -
Videos for "Shades of Cool" and "Ultraviolence" Coming Soon
Macintosh Manhattan replied to Sebastian's topic in New Releases
Apparently she's got an ear infection of some sorts it's also why she was forced to cancel Letterman's show. -
It’s so beautiful. The bridge literally made me cry. I love the spoken part. It’s like she was talking down the phone she was so quiet it was like she didn’t want to wake anyone. Oh and the strings and guitar work is beyond magical.Lana has really outdone herself this time. The album is going to slay commercially critically and most importantly me...

Promo Single: "SHADES OF COOL" (May 26)
Macintosh Manhattan replied to Sitar's topic in New Releases
I love Shades of cool so much. Unlike West Coast (Which took me a few listens to feel that hit of pure bliss not that I'm saying its not very good BC actually its now one of my favs) Shades of cool was instantaneous wave of pure nirvana.I like the 70's psychedelic mixed in with jazzy undertones feel it has. Also has anyone noticed how lana is adding elements of her Lizzy Grant era into her single/promo single so far. By the looks of it Ultraviolence looks set to topple the greatness of BTD and now I seriously can't wait for june 16 to come round -
The album cover makes so much sense now I've seen the disc/cd cover work. I'm going to pr-order this as soon as I can.Dose anyone know how much the courier delivery option is though?

'Ultraviolence' Album Cover Confirmed
Macintosh Manhattan replied to Dum Dum's topic in New Releases

Camo & Krooked Remix is the only one i Kinda -notice how i said kinda- like. It's the only one that slightly adds something to the original. But tbh no remix can ever match up to the surf noir magic like the original one has.

'Ultraviolence' Album Cover Confirmed
Macintosh Manhattan replied to Dum Dum's topic in New Releases
I wonder if she is doing a beyonce... Like In Beyonce's 4 and self titled Album ( If any of you have the physical copy) In the booklet/sleeve she had a photo linked to every song and may be this is what Lana might be doing to build up hype and anticipation for the new album. So every couple of Days We get a track name say for instance Cruel World and a new photo along with it.
