My mate who I go to college with is starting to get into Lana Del Rey and she asked me If I can make a Mix tape/playlist of some of her tracks. She like me has an eclectic taste in music and doesn't mind slow/fast songs. I want to make a mix tape of Lana offical releases before I introduce my mate to Lana's vast unreleased back catalogue.I want to inc songs from BTD/PD/UV eras I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what's the best tracks to put on a mixtape? Thank you

Unreleased Songs For Me To Listen To?
Macintosh Manhattan replied to UltraviolentJack's topic in Lana Thoughts
Catch And Release/A Star For Nick/Angels Forever Forever Angels/Playing Dangerous/Live Or Die/Hollywood/Hollywood's Dead/Velvet Crowbar/Try Tonight/Serial Killer/Children Of A Bad Revolution/Prom Song Gone Wrong Her catalogue is extensive and expands over many genres tbh These are a few of my personal IMO best tracks of Lana's unreleased material. Hoped I helped. -
Brooklyn Baby would be the obvious choice since it has a summery vibe to it. PWYC is out of the question BC we know there is a homemade video out there it just hasn't been released yet for whatever reason. Personally I'd like to see other Florida kilos made into a video or MPG. FK even though there is no way it would be released as a single it would be nice to see a promo vid for it. The track's brilliant and deserves a video. MPG BC it has one hell of a replay value especially if the vid goes national anthem-esque. Plus like WC, MPG is radio friendly and might even sail up through the charts...

I've got admit. G&R has grown on me a fair bit tbh BC you can see the potential Lana has for future tracks especially with my fav verse-We should've left Las Vagas and began again/To get back to Detroit/Back to the promised land. The chorus is still awful but there are element's of greatness tbh

Its a cute idea tbh. I can see how some people might think it can cause elitetism but I feel that's not the case for this fandom. Most of us are reasonably sassy, smart and open minded on LB in general on here and most fans here are young adults here anyway with the exception. I find that most elitism happens when the fan base are much younger *cough perry/gaga*. I'm not hateing I'm just noticed it tbh.

How Popular Is Lana In Your Area?
Macintosh Manhattan replied to Hello Heaven's topic in Lana Thoughts
I live in a chavy area but i go to a slightly hipster-ish/scene kid/grunge college so you can imagine the difficulty of finding a lana fan who likes her just as much as i do. My ex did like her but when i met him a few days ago and asked what he thought about her new album he didnt have a clue what i was on a out so I guess he was on of those fake fans tbh. -
Mark Dice is a total spoon. I worry for people who hang on every word he says tbh BC rather than focus on real issues like the Gaza/Palestine conflict or Ukraine/East Ukraine & Russia conflict he comes out with a load of made up bullshit deterring people from what is really happening in the world. Some of the stuff he preached is sometimes racist/homophobic. I just don't have time for people like him tbh. Let the fool play his foolish games... As for people/fans sending death threats I wouldn't bother as he clearly gets off on it. He's an attention seeker and do you what's the best way to piss off an attention seeker don't give them any attention. You could give him cast iron facts about Lana but he'll still won't and will not listen. He's an arrogant charmless man at the end of the day...

I made my own chart and it was dead on . It was freaky tbh how accurate it was. As for Lana's it was also dead on. So freaky....

Lana to feature on Barrie's upcoming album!
Macintosh Manhattan replied to NamiraWilhelm's topic in New Releases
Seriously can't wait for this. Mary is fantastic so I'm glad its on Barrie's debut album. Can't wait for riverside though let's hope it isn't a love song otherwise it might be a bit awkward.... -
Lol strange thing is like I said in a previous post I got into them in the resistance era. But since hearing there entire discography I find it not there worst but not exactly there strongest ethier. But IMO the second law was there worst album it genre blended way to much and I literally get second hand embarrassment every time I listen to survival. Lel Here's is a list of Covers they did by the way - "America" – Live only. "Back in Black" – Live "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" – In Your World/Dead Star CD "Dracula Mountain" – Live only. "House of the Rising Sun" – NME In Association With War Child Presents 1 Love "Feeling Good" – Origin of Symmetry "Lithium" – Live in Brazil (Loollapalloza 2014) and Coachella Festival 2014 (first weekend) "Man of Mystery" – The Supermassive Selection "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want" – Feeling Good/Hyper Music CD "Popcorn" – Resistance 7" "Prague" – Resistance CD "Sign o' the Times" – Live Only "Tourette's" – Live Only "Where the Streets Have No Name" – Live Only "The Fly" – Live Only "YYZ" – Live Only in Canada

There isn't a lot of unreleased -apart from soaked- material but there b-sides are worth looking into as most are a-side quality. B-sides I would recommend : Fury/Hyper Chondriac Music/Glorious/Map Of Your Head/In Your World/Agitated/Shrinking Universe/Recess/Pink Ego Box/Ashamed/Nishe There is a b-side/live album that includes some of these songs its called Hullabaloo its also worth listening to as you get to hear them live as well. There is a DVD version too by the way . They've released nine albums so far inc live albums. Here's a list of them from there best to worst IMO. Origin Of Symmetry Absolution HAARP Live From Wembley Stadium Blackholes And Revelations Muse Live From Rome Hullabaloo Showbiz The Resistance The 2ND Law Playlist wise its quite hard as like you said there comprehensive but here's mine anyway and what I would recommend to a new fan. Showbiz era - Falling Down/Sunburn/Showbiz/Unintended/Uno/Cave Origin Of Symmetry Era - Plug In Baby/Feeling Good/Bliss/Citizen Erased/Darkshines/Megalomania Absolution Era - Stockholm Syndrome/Hysteria/The Small Print/Sing For Absolution/Time Is Running Out/Blackout Black holes And Revelations Era - Hoodoo/Supermassive Black hole/Starlight/Map Of The Problematique/Assassin/Knights Of Cydonia The Resistance Era - Resistance/Undisclosed Desires/MK Ultra/Uprising/Unnatural Selection/Guiding Light The 2ND Law Era - Supremacy/Follow Me/Animals/Explores/Big Freeze Its really a matter of taste and personal preference tbh but I hope I have helped you in anyway lol.

Oh, say can you see my stars The night time is almost ours To wander through alleys and look at the bars Night time is almost ours The headlights from passing cars They illuminate my face then leave me the dark The voice of Nirvana says, "Come as you are" And I will The night time is almost ours The sway of the hips and arms Will cradle you from afar They swing till you're tired and send you to Mars Night time is almost ours The whole of Oh say can you see is beautiful. Its poetry tbh and Lana's most moving and confessional song to to date...

Let's be honest here its plotless. Its pretty for prettysakes and that's why I think loads of Lana fans are pissed. Not just BC there was no effort put in but you can see and feel how empty/hollow/shallow the music vid is. There's no charisma. No energy. No feeling. Its just four minutes of voidness...

Ultraviolence Video Interpretation.
Macintosh Manhattan replied to GodBlessMe's topic in Lana Thoughts
There's no plot tbh. Its just Lana walking round a churchyard -looking pretty in her wedding dress and eating oranges. At a push you could say its about a couple- where obvs the dude is in charge hence the finger sucking- who runaway and get married but that's just me grabbing at straws tbh. -
What a boring mess. I expected more tbh but all we got was Lana eating some oranges, sucking some dudes fingers and her looking doe eyed at the camera. Im not usually negative towards Lana but this was lazy on so many levels its unreal. Lana and the music vid looks gorgeous tho I give her that...

Omg lel One of those times I like to be proven wrong. Well my day is sorted tommorow. Thanks by the way.
-
Exactly where is the proof. It seems unlikely tbh. It wouldn't be really smart to release the music vid before the single came out unless the vid is controversial and interscope are betting there chips that the single will sell due to curious pepole wondering what the fuss is about. I doubt it tho the last thing Lana needs is even more bad press/attention...
-
So I decided go through the entertainment section of LB and I was surprised that there wasn't a thread for the amazing band Muse so lel I took it upon myself to start the topic I was wondering if anybody here stans/likes them. I discovered them during the risistance era which funnily enough along withe second law era I'm not so keen on. My favourite albums have to be origin of symmetry and absolution. There rock masterpieces IMO. There fantastic live and Dom Howard the drummer is a babe. He's smile is so cute and dorky lel

I don't get why everyone is complaining tbh its only the teaser. The only thing I hope for is that we get a monologue for this vid BC damn personally I miss them. I don't really mind whether the vid is lo-fi/Hi-fi tbh. I'm also interested in the results BC Lana directed it. It looks so far like she is going down the cult road too. Side Note- The flowers she's carrying are white Lilly's a sign of death/loss in the family and are used mainly for funerals not weddings. Actually in the UK buying white Lilly's for your partner is highly unlucky as it can bring a death it to hers or your family. Its an old supatition and I wonder if Lana knew that too...
-
Only two on PD tbh. American and Body Electric. It took me months to get into them and lol there up there now as some of my favs. BTD tho is a diffrent story i still cant get into the lucky ones or without you or DPD.
-
Its probably due to the vocal layering she uses. She probably sang two vocal tracks in slightly different pitches and layered them together. This is why it might sound auto tuneish. But Lana use auto tune tho lol I doubt that tbh....
