  1. The album got more streams in it's 4th day than Chemtrails did and received 5,339,181 streams yesterday. Of course it's not as high as the streams of other artists, but that's not what matters at all. It's not "tanking" (and even if it was, who cares?). Generally, I don't know why you're so obsessed with the fact that Lana's numbers aren't as high as they were in past eras. Streams don't equal quality, which kind of feels like what you're trying to say. And about Dealer trending, it literally just started getting popular a few days ago, so obviously it's not as big as other viral Lana songs. It's fun to celebrate when Lana does well in her numbers, but that shouldn't be the focus of being a fan. You should be a fan because you enjoy the music.
  2. Dealer update: yesterday it received 801,946 streams on Spotify
  3. I wish someone had asked her the context of this post on the livestream on Friday, I still have no idea why she made that or posted it It's honestly kind of iconic

    Song vs. Song

    Black Bathing Suit vs Cola
  5. I wonder if it might have to do with that musical she brought up a few years ago, or maybe something else involving acting. It's most likely just a song/record she's working on that might seem a bit out of the box at first, though
  6. Also: is an album not just a literal collection of songs? What the hell else is it supposed to be? Like, yeah, albums can be cohesive, but at the end of the day it is quite literally a collection of songs
  7. So we're not true fans for liking the album, but you were literally on here a few months ago going on and on about Lana's body in a negative manner and you are? This just in: people are allowed to like new things and still be a fan of the artist! I don't care whether or not you like the album, this is a weird mentality for anyone to have on any musician. I agree that most of those songs you mentioned are outstanding tracks, but that doesn't take away from there being tracks people like on Blue Banisters too and to claim that it does makes absolutely zero sense. This is just a general thing to everyone, myself included: your opinions do not equal facts, and you shouldn't present them as such. Okay, rant over
  8. I'm just happy Lana's finally getting attention from a song that isn't an unreleased from 11 years ago
  9. I don't really take the opinions of people who have body shamed Lana into account, regardless of what it is, so.... Anyways! Good morning Dealer is continuing to rise on Spotify and Apple Music charts so yay Dealer!
  10. 1. Text Book 16 2. Blue Banisters 15 3. Arcadia 13 5. Black Bathing Suit 22 6. If You Lie Down With Me 21 7. Beautiful 12 8. Violets for Roses 18 9. Dealer 20 (+1) 10. Thunder 17 11. Wildflower Wildfire 17 12. Nectar of the Gods 15 13. Living Legend 16 14. Cherry Blossom 7 (-1) 15. Sweet Carolina 14
  11. This is one of Lana's best albums in terms of vocals for me, so I'm happy that she's proud of that aspect because she absolutely deserves to be. She really delivered in every aspect and did such a nice mix of her softer vocals and her rougher/crazier ones
  12. I mean, I just love BB for what it is (although my album rankings are changing every day, so I never know where it's gonna be for me lol), but I really cannot understand why Honeymoon has always gotten the treatment it has. I don't think I saw people fully appreciating Honeymoon until last year or maybe even this year. The fact that that record was hated when it came out baffles me. It's so serene and timeless, and despite being slow, it captures you. I would probably go as far as to say it's her most cinematic album yet. And the jazz influence on that album is stunning. Side note here, but I wish Lana would do a full jazz record. Those horns at the end of If You Lie Down were such a tease But yeah, all in all, Honeymoon is a masterpiece and I can honestly seeing it going on to become a classic years down the line.
  13. People who say Lana has yet to top Ultraviolence must not have heard any Lana albums after it because she's topped it at least 3 times objectively
  14. The album gets better and better on each listen, even the unreleased songs. It's weird because I've known Nectar and Cherry Blossom for two years, but something about them now feels so new to me.
  15. I've never been one to get really emotional when listening to music or watching movies or anything, but Hope and Old Money always get me for some reason. Bad Disease makes me quite emotional too
  16. I've spent a lot more time with Blue Banisters, and I think this might be my new ranking: 1. NFR 2. Blue Banisters 3. Honeymoon 4. Lust for Life 5. Ultraviolence 6. Chemtrails 7. Born to Die/AKA 8. Paradise I honestly feel like NFR, Blue Banisters and Honeymoon switch between 1, 2 and 3 every day though, so take their numbers with a grain of salt
  17. Lana's one of those people that's really good at storytelling, so for all we know, Dealer could be completely fictional. I don't think it's about G-Eazy, but it's just funny to think there's even a chance of that since her songs on LFL about him are kind of angry as well. Regardless, the way she was able to tap into that genuine anger for the song is astounding. There's so much emotion in the way she sings, and then she tops the song off with somewhat of a playful, almost sarcastic outro. I could literally write an essay on why Dealer is a genius song.
  18. If Dealer is about G-Eazy then damn...he must've really pissed her off if In My Feelings, White Mustang and Dealer are all about him He deserves to be dragged through the mud though so I'm definitely here for it
  19. I would literally sell both of my kidneys to hear Dealer live just once
  20. Dealer's currently at #33 on Spotify's "big on the internet" playlist I cannot believe Dealer is getting her moment to shine like this, I love it
  21. Unpopular opinion, but I actually like the rewritten chorus on TNBAR. I think her vocal delivery on it has something to do with that. But I do think the pre-chorus should've been left as it was. The rewritten one sounds kind of repetitive and like she didn't really know what to say there

    Text Book

I've been thinking so much more about this song lyrically lately. I always had a slight feeling that the BLM lyric and him seeing who she was was meant more in a "we don't have the same morals" way since I'm pretty sure that was right around/right after they had split. I think that's why that lyric follows "Maybe just the way we're different could set me free". Because she knows that they were too different in the most important ways, so it would set her free despite it still being hard to do. I think she had thought that Sean was going to be it for her if Blue Banisters is also about him. Generally, I think that Text Book is one of those songs where having the context in the way that we do makes it better. Having the nods to her relationship with her father intertwined within the lyrics that, to me, kind of entail the downfall of the relationship with Sean also add a lot of complexity. The whole thing is just so fascinating, I kind of want to do a line-by-line breakdown of the song lol.
  23. It's starting to. One sound on there using the song has about 2k videos under it and some of the videos using it are getting over a million views. And like I said, right now it's the most streamed non-single on the album. It's kind of surprising, but I'm definitely not complaining because it's a fantastic song
  24. It's definitely one of my favorite eras as well. I think it was because you could tell Lana was so excited to be making music at that time and she was first dipping her toes into the water. The fact that there's still so much we don't know about that point in time somewhat draws me to it too. If I could go back in time, I'd probably follow Lana on myspace in 2007. And the shoot she did with Chuck for the album is one of my favorites. I honestly feel like that's part of why I love songs like Black Bathing Suit and Dealer so much now because to me, they feel really reminiscent of that era.
  25. I was so confused when I saw that Dealer was the most streamed non-single on the album and that it was getting a lot of positive attention, not because I don't like it, but because when it originally leaked so many people here hated it The original leak literally called it the "worst song ever". I'm very proud to say that I loved it from the start
