Maybe the """"technical issues"""" are all part of the Masochism concept?

Leeds, ENG @ Reading & Leeds Festival - August 25th, 2024
Thunder Revenant replied to Elle's topic in 2024 Performances
The way sone of you frame others as boring or toxic because they *check notes* go to a concert to experience a live performance of the artist and not participate in Veronica and Tommys 13-track-group-car-karaoke đź’€ -
Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!
Thunder Revenant replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
Body Electric was not a single. Neither was Life Lesson. The Blue Velvet campaign was back in 2012 and the track has not been getting any buzz or promotion afterwards. Suburban House is a feature on an indie artists project. You really try to do the most here đź’€ -

God we really were robbed when she scrapped RBFY. Also, how is it that her vocals were so much better when she sang RBFY/BE compared to the rest of the set? -
Would have been a bigger disappointment about how she wasted the potential of the track.

How would you feel if LDR used AI for future music releases?

AI shouldnt be used for "art" -

A standalone single & feature track outstreamed album-deepcuts. Shocking! -
Lana's strongest feature (Released & Unreleased)
Thunder Revenant replied to Strangelove's topic in Lana Thoughts
My favorite collabs of hers would be Dayglo Reflection, Riverside, Unidentified Flying Bill, Summer Wine and Tomorrow Never Came. All those actually work as duets and have good chemistry between Lana and the other artist. And then there's of course "Candy Necklace as a "non-vocal-collab" My least favourite will always be BPBP. The collab on that song is extremely forced, you can tell that it was squeazed in and that the track was also not written in collaboration. -
Wasn't August 9 a misunderstanding from the get go and the date in the "soft launch drop" was in September?
-
Those tracks aren't bad but they would all be better with another producer finishing them. OB & COCC (the songs) had other people involved and that shows.
-
Jack & Lana had great chemistry for NFR, bit ever since, it feels like that spark is gone and it feels like they just work together out of comfort. A&W or WD are nice exceptions, but basically every other track they did post NFR would surely be better with another producer. The worst part is that Jack always brings Laura Siska and her terrible mixing.

In the current political climate, the last thing we need is an album with religious themes

Kid Kudi will just be a sped up Diet Mountain Dew sample đź’€

LDR Songs That Would Benefit From A Complete Rework
Thunder Revenant replied to Strangelove's topic in Lana Thoughts
Body Electric would have benefitted a lot if the instrumental and her vocals on the studio version would have sounded more like either of the live versions. Both the "rock-ish" version she did during the Paradise tour and the stripped back version she played before Paradise dropped had more fire than the studio version. The studio take is a bit too clean and lacks the "oomph" of the live iterations. LMLYLAW is generally a nice track. The melody is nice and the lyrics are nicely written (although suffering from the "bold chorus/title and sonehow unrelated verses" syndrom a lot of COCC songs have), but the entire production is soooo anticlimatic and dull. The song may not be meant for a big, upbeat production, but having some more nuances and interesting elements would certainly have benefitted it. Thinking of a UV/ HM era ballad-production. Arcadia is a good track, but I really LOVE that slightly improvised version she soundchecked. Would probably not have fit on BB like this though. Kintsugi feels like a major missed opportunity. Giving it a "Honeymoon-treatment" with a less muffeled production, a more interesting instrumental (could be rich-yet-subtle aka GKIT or MTWBT), vocals that don't sound like she's mumbling them and, finally, a stronger melody/flow -
Even without the controversy, this would always be a pretty bad and basic track
-
I did not say it had more, just saying that NFR is not the only one that had 8
-
Lol how do we disagree about counting now? There are factually 8 videos she released during the BTD era, even if two of them featured the same track.
-
Video Games, Blue Jeans 1, Blue Jeans 2, Carmen, Born To Die, National Anthem, Summertine Sadness and I think she also did a homemade OTTR one. So 8 in full. (Also I think it's kinda tough to count MAC and VB videos, thry were mostly visualizers with footage from the HIAB/ Bartender video)

I mean - Jack can't really sing. Neither can Quavo though. -

It's cool that she goes for this style, but could she collab with artists that can .. you know ... sing?
