  1. IM GETTING AHS: COVEN VIBES. LANA IS BORN TO BE AN ACTRESS. THIE VIDEO REMINDS ME OF ADDAMS FAMILY 60S SHOW, IM FUCKING SCREAMING. LANA IS THE REAL LOVE WITCH. OMG.

my DREAM is for lana to star in some campy b-movie!! she should have been cast in the love witch, obvs. i adore her speaking voice so much, the whole movie would be asmr for me.

    • the blackest day
    • STARGIRL INTERLUDE
    • i'm dying for her to sing BAR & love live. when will she grace us with the first live performance of the era? i need it. preferably on the radio and professionally recorded vs a fan recording at an event. lbr, i'm thirsty for anything though.
    • music to watch boys to. why does she torture us like this? i think i would have enjoyed honeymoon 10x more if we had live versions of more songs. i love lana's live variations of her songs.
    • hollywood
    • acoustic lana. either lana playing the guitar (yesplease) or her solo + blake.
    • this is what makes us girls

    a girl can dream  :flutter:

  2. 2. The other thing is that those "beeps" you hear at the start are the sounds that the music programs GarageBand and Logic Pro make before you start a recording - it's like a count-in so the person singing/recording knows when the recording will start.

hmm, i guess we will see in the final version, but i think they are intentional. i use logic and even though it does countdown similarly, it doesn't actually record the beeps.

  3. i still don't get how she would be singing to herself.

Honey, how's life treating you now

    That it's over

    Baby, how you feeling now

That I told you

    We're through

why would she be saying that to herself? her fame is obviously not over and she seems in a more comfortable place with it than ever. she's not breaking up with herself. why would she tell herself "I told you?"

Tell me how that treats you now

i mean, ouch. as mournful as the song is, there's also a slight feeling of vindication in that chorus. now she's sitting on her throne looking down at his mistakes and naming her own album Best American Record. does anyone else get that from it?

  4. I think this song is just about a relationship w/ her bf who was too obsessed w/ his music & it ended it flopping so now she's like I told you so bitch. Lmaoo

i like the theories about it being directed towards herself and i wish it was, but this makes more sense.

a lust for fame was what drove this person to neglect their relationship and look what it got them--nothing! she's the famous one now. she's the one naming her album "best american record." she made it a reality while he only dreamed about it.

  5. i think she's peaked and won't improve creatively or vocally from here on out

i think it's more that she is still so scarred from SNL and the initial backlash during BTD (and even UV) that she refuses to take many creative risks. but maybe that's me holding out hope that this time around it will be different  :defeated:

  6. I don't like Love, I listened to it when it came out and have it looping on my laptop with the headphone jack in so I don't have to hear it but she still gets those streams. It's boring, repetitive, safe, unimpressive vocally and uninspired production-wise. The best part is the bridge.

i actually like love, but i can't help but agree with some of this. it doesn't have the certain magic, the je ne sais quoi, that i expect from a lana song. i think it's mostly because the chorus is in the same vocal range as the verses. we know what lana can do with her voice but she plays it safe instead. it doesn't feel dynamic. there are definitely aspects i appreciate about it--its message, more global perspective, and the inspired video are a few--but i can't help but feel it's lacking. when she said that it's representative of the whole album, i felt disappointed.

  7. There's a lot of talk about Satanism right now.

I've read the Satanic bible a hundred times over. Satanists CAN worship Satan - it's called SATANism for a reason.

great post, but according to the Church of Satan's fundamental beliefs they don't worship Satan, nor do they make animal sacrifices. though people do whatever in the name of religion so who knows.

WHY DO SATANISTS WORSHIP THE DEVIL?

We don’t. Satanists are atheists. We see the universe as being indifferent to us, and so all morals and values are subjective human constructions.

Our position is to be self-centered, with ourselves being the most important person (the “God”) of our subjective universe, so we are sometimes said to worship ourselves. Our current High Priest Gilmore calls this the step moving from being an atheist to being an “I-Theist.”

Satan to us is a symbol of pride, liberty and individualism, and it serves as an external metaphorical projection of our highest personal potential. We do not believe in Satan as a being or person.

    DO SATANISTS PERFORM SACRIFICES?

No. We are atheists. The only people who perform sacrifices are those who believe in supernatural beings who would consider a sacrifice to be some form of payment for a request or form of worship. Since we do not believe in supernatural beings there is no reason for a Satanist to make a sacrifice of any sort.

either way, i don't get the big deal. lana didn't announce that she is now the devil's mistress and her music is dedicated to evil.

i'm so curious to know what this is for. what if it's not for the album at all but a project that chuck is working on?

  8. It's a mess tbh. It's like she's sabotaging her own success. Love is free falling as we speak.

Her team is a disaster. Nobody of lana's caliber should be tweeting about recruiting their fans to join some witch cult. It's crazy lol. Lana can do whatever she wants but to put it on full blast is just very risky and I hope it doesn't hurt her in the long run. This could turn off a LOT of people

    :eyeroll2:  :eyeroll2:  :eyeroll2:

do you think lana is trying to appeal to some basic trump lovers and squares or something? maybe chill a bit because lana is not recruiting anyone into a cult. though tbh sign me up if she does!  ;)

CTFU, why do people think it's OK to say the N word here

yeah, why is every other curse word censored but a racial slur isn't? weird.

  9. omg, the overreactions are killing me.

i, for one, am glad she's taking a stance against trump even if it's an eccentric one. also i'm soooo here for witchy lana.

    haters can get hexed!

Exactly. I don't like Trump but it's a dangerous game mentioning his name + mention of occult rituals.

    how is it dangerous??  :lmao:

  10. How do you guys think this is politically motivated?

because she's speaking to a whole generation that is going through a difficult time and living through a turbulent era of politics. we have also witnessed her dipping her toes into politics and look at her insta bio--"you know where I've been, now let me show you where we're headed"--she's writing with more universal themes this time around instead of about her past. she's looking into the future, imagining it. i hope we see a lot more of that on the album.
