I haven't heard any of this show but I think her vocal variability is normal...as someone who is a singer myself (but not professionally trained), I know that confidence in your voice can change depending on SO MANY THINGS--the weather, traveling, stress, just anything. A guitar player can get their strings fixed easily but a vocalist's success depends on so many more delicate things. And if she is smoking? Yeah, that doesn't help.

It's so wierd how Lana said she thought of scrapping When The World Was at War cause it's 'too dark'. I mean isn't Heroin the dark one?
and it's not even dark. the verses are basically meaningless fluff and then she says it ISN'T the end of america blah blah hope~
i mean, i love the song for what it is but "dark"? lol.

omg i'm so mad for letting myself get worked up that she would either sing wayamaya OR film the cherry video. sigh.
-
Last night, I dreamt that Lana was driving me around and I asked her if she'd sing "Wayamaya" tonight. She said no
And that in fact, she had been instructed by her managers to come to this board under a false name and write random songs she should sing so everyone would get confused and forget about "Wayamaya." NEVER!!

not her playing a song about getting high in a children show
lol i don't think it's a children's show at all! it's just to raise money for them.

Lana saying "ew" to drugs is so funny, I mean....
lol, right? she has so many songs that glorify drug use or at least mention it, but tbh i'm glad she doesn't even smoke weed. NORMIE QUEEN, goals.

i wish i could find more remixes that aren't totally EDM and are just complete transformations of the production. it also seems like a lot of remixes are gone from YT. any suggestions?
this one is dance-y but i like it:

idg the hate. "end game" is one of the best songs on the album. and "so it goes..." is horribly underrated.
LWYMMD, gorgeous, and dress can go

it's always been clear that's it's "harvey" and that "ah, he's" in the written lyrics was just a coverup to avoid liability. sad that it has to ruin the song but i respect that she is willing to retire it in solidarity with those brave women.
i NEED a "get free" video but "cherry" would also be great so i'm happy either way.

(they are dating)
imagine them making up a song together in the woods like lana did with coachella? the forest would be shook.

omg, i've been WAITING for mtwbt for so long. the chorus was a little awkward, though.
i don't understand people crying because she didn't wear a dress. she looks hot af in that mesh top.
are there any full videos of white mustang? her dancing looked pretty cute.

any interpretations? what are they trying to say with this song? i'm struggling to make sense of the message.
beautiful people with beautiful problems=celebrities? or is she looking through a lens of everyone's problems being "beautiful"?

we are so lucky this era!! lana talking openly about her unreleased songs was something i never expected, but i suppose the reaction to her singing a couple of them live paved the way. she SHOULD be proud of them and they do deserve to be more widely known. i hope she comes through

Other songs on the album had a more troubled gestation. Del Rey says the closing track, Get Free, originally had a different title, and much more personal lyrics.
"That song started out really revealing," she says. "I wanted to summarise my whole experience over the last six years; and then I realised, I don't want to reveal everything."
Once the initial version was "out of my system", she says, the recording was "deleted completely then started from scratch".
The lyrics became more vague and more hopeful; and the re-recorded version ends with Del Rey referencing Neil Young: "I want to move out of the black, into the blue".
"I think it would have been hard for me to do interviews if I'd said a couple of particular things that I was thinking of," she says of the original.
omfg, why does she tell us shit like this? to torture us? i wouldn't be so proud of making your songs less specific and personal.

i'm a freak ( ) who basically loves everything lana has ever done.
with that said: push me down is one i never listen to. ever. i never listen to fake diamond or ghetto baby (that title, UGH) either. in the sun is dumb.
that's about it.

I feel like it's an album she made to please everyone else. Not just the fans but the media, critics etc. Even if it's not obvious but I too get the vibe that Lana isn't that connected to it.
lol, as if lana would do anything that she didn't want to do at this point. she said it herself in the pitchfork interview, she only cares about her own opinion.
Glad Lana performs with the album-like instrumentals again

i totally disagree. we already have an album version, and for some songs we have 10,000 performances of them. i love when lana switches it up and imo, her voice is made to go with some sexy, wailing guitars. my biggest problem is that i wish she'd ditch the backing tracks (or at least have them lower or actually sung by her backup dancers). her voice is so light and airy that a stripped back performance would really allow it to shine.
