  1. Black Beauty & Pawn Shop Blues (why is this song so underrated?)
  2. This is not really lana-related per se but I don't like Dan's production. I mean I LOVE the songs so far but his production seems to be lacking a little something. Lana does a great job in terms of performing the tracks in-studio and writing them and all of that, but I sometimes find Dan's production a little lacking... I can't put my finger on exactly what I find so off about it... My god I miss Emile Haynie.
  3. I like this song, I do, but I find the production underwhelming. I feel if the production was maybe taken up a notch, this song would have been better.
  4. I really dig this song. The lyrics are the best so far I think!! I loved it on the first listen, just like West Coast.
  5. 1. How did you discover Lana? When and What Era? Early 2012. A friend of mine on Twitter was tweeting about Video Games and how much he loved it. And by that point, many ppl started talking about the BTD video so my curiosity grew. I listened to Video Games, was perplexed and wondered "what the hell is this? What am I listening to?" Then I watched the Born to Die video on my own and, again, I was perplexed and asked myself "How is this mu---what is this?" I felt like I'd wasted my time. But a few days after, I found myself back on Youtube again, and for some reason I wanted to listen to VG again, and so I did. Eventually, it grew on me, and I began to think, "Okay, so she isn't that bad... It's just so different, that's all..." And before you know it, I've listened to Blue Jeans, VG, Born to Die over and over and over again. When the album was officially released, I ended up buying it and fell in love with every single song on it. I also fell in love with her exoticness and her voice, her style. I fell in love pretty fast. My friends don't 'get' her, though. But I do now. It took some time for me. I remember when Radio first got stuck in my head, oh my gosh. I'm pretty hooked to her music now. 2. First song(s)? Video Games, Born to Die, Blue Jeans.. 3.what did you think? At first I thought it was just weird. 4. Your favourite song(s)? American, Blue Jeans, Born to Die, Summertime Sadness, Gods & Monsters, Young & Beautiful, Ride, Black Beauty, Pawn Shop Blues.... 5. Least favourite song(s)? Cola, Burning Desire. 6. What song(s) "grew" on you? Lolita, Lucky Ones, Diet Mountain Dew 7. Whats your favourite Lana era as of now? (May jailer, Lizzy Grant, Lana Del Rey) The Lana Del Rey era. 8. Favourite Album(s)? I love Born to Die. 9. Least favourite(s) ? I don't have a least favorite! 10. Favourite song preformed live? I loved that BBC Radio performance special. I loved the performances on there 11. First song/Album purchased/Downloaded? I think Blue Jeans... I think. 12. Favourite song quote/lyric? "I'm crazy but I am free."
  6. Black Beauty, Ride, Without You, Dark Paradise, and Video Games too
  7. Thank you for posting this! I've noticed that she has been a little unhappy, too. But she's always happy with the fans, in the pictures, on radio interviews... She is strong <3
  8. I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH. Right now for me it's WC > BB > SoC > Ultraviolence But they're all beautiful and unique in their own way.
  9. To me ir's "we could go back to new york" or maybe it's "newark"???? Idk just my opinion
  10. The experience of waking up at 5:00AM sharp JUST to hear West Coast for the first time was amazing for me. It felt like I was the only one awake at that time. I was alone, the sun wasn't even up yet, the air was so chill and beautiful. It was like being fully awake in a dream. And then I heard West Coast for the first time and tried so hard not to squeal. I fell in LOVE with the guitars and the way the beat accelerates and slows down in all the right moments. It's the experience that matters. So West Coast > Ultraviolence > Shades of Cool
  11. Cola. The first line just makes me uncomfortable hahaha but I like the rest of the song! The beat is catchy as hell, it's just that first line.
  12. Agreed. When I read the "I totally wanted to kill myself every day" line, I had to take a deep breath and squint my eyes. I couldn't believe those were her words I was reading. It made me sad. And there is another interview online (I have it bookmarked somewhere on Chrome) wherein she says "I'm often depressed because I am different." And in past interviews she has talked about her past depression. Keep in mind that depression doesn't just go away, you know? It's not the flu, it's not sinus, it's a mental illness. I mean who knows? It's quite possible that she still deals with it. I'm just glad she's here. Just my two cents.
  13. Such a beautiful, beautiful song... it's so honest and raw...
  14. American is my absolute favorite. I just relate to it so nostalgically. It brings back many beautiful memories. Of course there are other songs that I am utterly in love with, but American tops it for me.
  15. I love it. Lana's voice is hauntingly beautiful yet again.
