They worked together in Nashville in January. I don't think there are any pictures though, there are no paparazzi there afaik. http://nocountryfornewnashville.com/2014/01/23/rumor-mill-lana-del-rey-recording-in-nashville-dan-auerbach-producing/ https://twitter.com/LanaDelRey/status/436561354686595073

Yeah, that'd be nice. I think we should use the World News section more as well. It's not like there's a lot of Lana-related stuff to discuss at the moment.
-
I think it's a good idea but we don't really have much discussion on anything other than music. Maybe we could start.

Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

Here's a list of all of the homemade ones: http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/894-video-directory-list-information/ I can see you're missing Off to the Races and probably some alternate versions of videos. -

I hear "Billy". -
I would, if I wanted to read them. And is Eminem really more misogynistic than other rappers? I think a lot of his lyrics are satirical or he's trying to get a reaction (Criminal for example). John Lennon beat his first wife, Michael Gira from Swans used to beat up fans at his shows if he didn't like the way they were dancing, Gucci Mane killed a guy... Those are the ones I can think of right now, there's much much more. I don't care too much about the artists I listen to but if I find out they're assholes I don't really care that much. Some horrible people have made amazing music and films and I don't want to restrict myself from listening to and watching those just because their creators have done some shitty things.

Well we can't really discuss anything besides looks since we only have pictures. -

I think it's mostly the make-up, sometimes when she's wearing that brown lipstick and weird eye make-up she can look a lot older but when she's more natural she'll look a lot younger. People also look better and younger when they're happy and she looks pretty sad in those pictures imo. These were taken the same day and I think she looks years older in the second one: -

^Daily Mail posts lots of bullshit, they're just crediting Interscope because it's her record label, I doubt Interscope sent that cover to them, like why would they let them announce the cover in some random article? That picture is 2 or 3 years old and the cover looks horrible anyways. -
Do you really stop listening to artists because of their personal beliefs or behaviour? Idk I don't think I'd be left with a lot of music to listen to if I did that, a lot of artists are shitty people but that doesn't affect my opinion of their music.

But Lana's in L.A. now and said Ultraviolence was finished. The interview was done a few weeks ago, wasn't it? I don't know what else they would be working on together so I'm going to take this as him having worked on Ultraviolence with Lana. -
She tweeted that the album will be available for pre-order on March 4 and this is the cover: Also, North American tour dates:

Yeah, it sounds forced and like she's struggling to keep her voice so low sometimes. She also struggles live because of this. I also can't imagine that being good for her voice in the long run. -
I think Ben just had a child, sorry.

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships

Lana didn't start referencing Lolita until later in her career, did she? Because I don't remember hearing anything about it on Sirens, From the End or Quiet Now. It makes me think that she read Lolita when she was older, in her twenties and started fantasizing about being a teenager in a ~dangerous~ relationship with her teacher just like most of the drug/mob/prostitution references are just her fantasizing about having a more exciting life. -
is she like desperate for $$ or what

In the United States, the album attained first-week sales of 77,000 copies, subsequently debuting at number two on the Billboard 200, behind Adele's 21,[105] and shipped over 500,000 units in the country by January 2013, getting Gold certification.[106] On the week ending August 31, 2013, though the album was over its 80th week on the chart, it re-entered the Top 20. As of September 2013, Born to Die has sold 1,000,000 copies in the United States, and has been certified platinum by the RIAA.[107] I really hope they aren't relying on that SS remix to much because a remix isn't going to make her album sell unless the entire album sounds like the remix. -
No, I don't think I would've listened to her again if I didn't like her the first time I heard her. And I don't think Born to Die would have made me like her as much, I probably wouldn't have bothered to get into it.
