oohhh I get it because they would need to go out if their way to create the stamp for the vinyl right? and since it would be a different vinyl than Froot they would need a new stamp.
well we’ll see I guess

Been a fan of hers for almost 10 years and the nickname Merna still sends me every time

They do get a (great?) cut of profits, but I'm a Little Ferrari and I see Labels as organizations from hell that are here to trap the artists! Just kidding... sort of. Marina hinted before that her relationship with label wasn't really 100% and being able to "leave them, not going back" probably stings the suit men a little, so I'm just not very confident they'll be helpful celebrating her catalog. At least she kind of does have a strong fanbase appeal, but the costs of these things (especially if they're planning something beyond a vinyl repress, like new songs being add-ed) will always shake the table.
I also believe there's a little aggravation that both The Family Jewels and Electra Heart were able to penetrate the public consciousness with the TikTok trends in a way that Froot still hasn't... aka they were more commercially viable to market since they were fresh into people's mind. So maybe it's time to make I'm Not Hungry Anymore viral so we can get a nice treat!

When You Take Away Control being a real song and not a random Forget demo... I got the last laugh. WHEN YOU TAKE AWAY CONTROL TRUTHERS, RISE! I'm pretty sure the song is kind of shit or just rough like Savior but ok.
I have no idea if something is really happening but mainly because;;;; label. She might have been interested, but I'm not sure everybody will be like "sure luv you left us after your contract expired but we'll help you celebrate your beloved third album <3". Platinum Blonde literally came 1 month before she announced she was going independent as well nn.
Does anyone have a Merna Masterpost? Kinda craving some demos & outtakes right now.

well we know the 15 songs she wrote were the 12 on froot, wytac, saviour and inha based on the recording list. the fact she went from 7 songs to 4-5 songs in a few weeks implies, to me at least, that she was thinking of writing more for froot rather than having a backlog of songs to use, because using the three she already had and writing 1-2 more songs is more realistic than 4 more songs, especially as it took her two years to write 15 by herself. although I think it would have been cool to have a new song for each 'froot', not that the froots really have much meaning (also it's funny to me all froot songs got a froot but not all electra heart songs got given an archetype)
i hope someone leaks wytac for froot's 10 year anniversary if it's not released. I think inha has the potential to be released due to some of the comments she's made, but we'll see if she's been marina liemandis again. I can't see her pulling out wytac considering we only ever knew it existed because david kosten tweeted the recording list, and until that 'i wrote 15 songs' interview was found we thought it was a demo for forget or something. I'm not sure if we'll get saviour but pairing it with inha as a 'missing' pink (dragon)froot would be cute!

Gorgeous album tbh. It lives beyond the hype and "lore" of music that sounds like grail because stans can't actually touch or albums that were scrapped by record labels and that kind of thing. The world building, the lyrics, the goal achieved, everything is on point. I constantly think about that quote of Lana meeting Kahne and asking if he could make it sound "like a sad party" and the way it fits perfectly. And I have no idea of what she thinks of it now, but I'd say Kahne brought some of the most interesting productions while keeping it traditional and straightforward. Marmaid Motel? Gramma? These songs are next level, uniquely "Lizzy Grant" and no one can touch them.
I wonder what she wanted to change when the album sat in label hell for one whole year, but the final product is still pretty much bulletproof and perfectly aligned.

About the whole secret project; all signs were pointing towards a real "Unreleased Collection", no? The "Yes To Heaven" release, random songs being taken down after years, new registrations... Interscope probably thought it was some quick cash and Lana went "why not?" before realizing it would take some extra effort.
I don't see her touching AKA, like, ever. Deep down, I don't think she's invested in it as much as the fans, probably enjoy a few songs and hold them very close to her heart (Pawn Shop Blues) but doesn't really fuck with it as a full collection, at least not how it was released back then. Over the years, she did mention some unreleased songs that were special to her (Disco, Hollywood, Roses Bloom For You, etc.) so I imagine it would make sense for her to pick these songs and compile them instead of putting out a full body of work that she wanted to change before it was released 15 years ago.
The idea of Pawn Shop Blues and other AKA songs being thrown together with songs like Yes To Heaven, Queen Of Disaster and whatever they're planning... shivers (derogatory) but it is what it is.
