Lana has been really losing me as a fan since NFR. I only like 3 songs off of that record and even then I skip to the bridges. I only like 1 song from COCC and I dislike all of the new singles. In my personal opinion, idk how anyone can defend her lyrics NFR-BB. They’re astoundingly poor. Sure she does have a few gems but as whole?? Her melodies are much poorer now too. What happened to the structured, well thought out, beautiful melodies of songs like Carmen, Is This Happiness, Dark Paradise, The Blackest Day, Sad Girl, etc...? Even her unreleased songs have better melodies I’m not even going to touch the production because most of us agree it’s lacking in a lot of ways and that is equally her fault as it is the producers. Visually... there’s no effort. Pure laziness and that’s disappointing. Ultimately the visuals are part of her job too and she clearly doesn’t give af anymore. It’s not cute. Critics and lay people don’t really give that much of a fuck about her visuals, it’s the fans that care the most so the fact that she’s not putting any effort in is telling. Her shows now? I wouldn’t pay to see them anymore. Unnecessary dancers, backing vocals that are too loud, not singing at random times, etc... Before it was her showcasing her amazing talent. A lot of the time now, it’s just singing quietly behind her backing vocals doing a pathetic ‘dance’. The Lolita slut drop was iconic but the other little dances are just not it. She does have some amazing moments still but not enough for me to buy a ticket Again, I’m not going to touch on her controversial statements, lying to fans, disregarding fans, completely unprofessional behaviour, tone-deaf comments, those videos of her driving recklessly, etc... She and her music have changed and I don’t like it. Obviously artists change over time and that’s fine but it’s just sad that I’m not vibing with this change like other fans are. I loved her so much for so many years and it’s just depressing that I’m not liking who she is now. I suppose I’ll always have BTD-L4L Since some of u crazy Lana stans can’t read, I’m gonna say again that this is just my opinion, NOT FACT

I gave those specific examples for aged poorly because I grew up with those songs so they were the first ones to come to mind. If I was born in the 50s then I'd probably be able to give you a list of songs with live instruments that have aged poorly off the top of my head but I wasnt born then so I can't. The songs that have aged well do include a lot of songs using live instruments but not all of them. Toxic for example (tho it does use strings i guess). Classic pop songs that always blow up again every couple of years fall into that category too. Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney, etc... A lot of electronic music doesn't age well in the long run because music trends come and go. That’s why music keeps evolving and we aren't all still listening to 2010s style music (although I wish we were). I've stated MANY times that just because a song hasn't aged well doesn't mean it's become bad. Idk why u keep pushing that point when I never brought it up to begin with. I'm not going to continue a conversation with you if you're so closed off and stuck in your own opinion that you can't even read my points correctly

I said SOME of the black eyed peas hits. I meant some songs from their 2010s albums like i gotta feeling and the time (dirty bit). I’ll still jam to them if they come on but they do sound VERY 2010 and only 2010. I do agree that Boom Boom Pow and Meet Me Halfway still slap but I wouldn’t say they are timeless. Again, that doesn’t mean they aren’t good. They’re definitely bops and staples of the 2010s

Just because you can’t comprehend that music ages doesn’t mean that people lack critical thinking skills ? Aged poorly = songs that don’t sound fresh and current anymore. They sound dated. The exact opposite of timeless songs Songs that have aged poorly: Tik Tok, California Girls, Party Rock Anthem, I Gotta Feeling Songs that have aged exceptionally well: Bohemian Rhapsody, Toxic, Wonderwall, Hallelujah

I hate to say it but some of u are acting like total assholes. I personally agree that Radioactive has aged poorly. Lots of music from that time has aged poorly - especially from that genre. I mean, look at some of the 2010s black eyed peas hits or party rock anthem, etc... They aren’t exactly timeless hits. Just because it hasn’t aged for u, doesn’t mean that it hasn’t aged for others so idk why some of you can’t accept that?? Of course that’s a valid comment so I don’t understand why some of you are getting ur panties in a twist over an opinion Ageing poorly doesn’t necessarily make a song shit or unlistenable for me. It just makes it not as good as it used to be and that’s fine. That happens. If it makes it unlistenable for others then I can understand that 100%. If we just ignore the sound for a sec and focus on the lyrics, can I just say wtf?? This girl’s lyrics don’t sit right with me. They’re pretty lazy imo and don’t match Marina’s. Marina’s out here going “Earth is like a white rose, quiet cloud of petals cold” and she’s going “cum on your face like pow pow, you know your place like wow wow”. I don’t mind lyrics like that but they just don’t match at all. At least try a bit harder with your rhyming

I've been having a hard time connecting to the melodies of 99% of the songs from NFR and COCC. I don't know how to explain it but I feel like most melodies post L4L have been a bit of a drag. Before they were so well constructed, pleasing and memorable but now they're kinda dull imo. They were freestyles and it shows. Don't get me wrong, some of her melodies post L4L are really good but they're few and far between imo. For example, the melodies of yosemite vs carmen. Carmen is really well constructed melodically but yosemite is a bit lacklustre. You can tell that yosemite was improvised or had less thought put into it then Carmen's melody

And the kindest. Do know how rare it is for someone THAT famous to be so kind and humble? She’s one in a million, that’s for sure

Kinda shocked that a lot of the people who were bashing COCC are loving Blue Bannisters. They sound basically the same to me. Uninteresting, lethargic, boring lyrics, etc... Jack has just downloaded a new plugin on his music software and everyone has lost their minds. The amount of people I’ve seen hyping up that synth ? Also, people were loving the snippet of the Blue Bannisters video but hating on the LMLYLAW video??? Again, basically the same thing

I think speculating that he’s being paid to date Brit is a dangerous game. Not only is there no proof but it’s immensely insulting to Britney.
